This is one of the BIGGEST reasons why I love this fight and is one of my absolute favorites: Ichigo was always stronger than Grimmjow, but his mental and emotional state was stifling his focus in the fight. EVERYTHING he was thinking about, Orihime being the one who he was thinking of and worrying about the most, because of his newfound power of his mask he tried to not trigger possible trauma in her from what she had to deal with from her brother early on in the series. She doesn't want to see somebody she loves/cares for looking like that and Ichigo knows it, but he also needs it to be stronger to fight and also protect her. All of these things kept clashing with each other until it turned into him starting to have a full-on PANIC ATTACK, but the MOMENT Orihime said ANYTHING to reassure him, he was all cooled down and focused, THAT is how much Orihime means to him :)
Lol just no, that’s NOT “how mUcH oRiHiMe meAnS To HiM” AT ALL as Orihime doesn’t mean much of anything to Ichigo other than a friend here as she just didn’t like seeing her sad, that’s literally it, everything else is just you BADLY making up nonsense here in the worst possible of of stuff that’s NOT in the story AT ALL as all tho nonsense about his “mental and emotional state was stifling his focus in the fight” lol that’s NOT true at all, you just made that up here as his mental and emotional state was ALWAYS fine, you’re just making up nonsense that’s not true here and ichigo wasn’t always stronger than Grimmjow AT ALL at first. He only got JUST as strong as him when he got his hollow mask to power up and than they became equals but no way is ichigo anywhere NEAR Grimmjow’s level at the start. You’re literally JUST made that up here BADLY in the worst possible way. You pity smile at the end is just pitiful to see, just stop saying nonsense as ichigo doesn’t see orihime as nothing more than a friend that he has to protect, that’s literally it. Just stop saying all of this nonsense here, seriously. You BADLY failed to understand the story as you BADLY make up nonsense here as that’s NOT true at all. No matter how many times i watch Bleach fights, i cannot help but Batchest into oblivion. I grew up with Naruto / Shippuden but Bleach, especially with TYBW, is slowly taking it's crown

In this fight we learn so much about the rivalry with grimmjow and relationship with orihime... its beautiful
