the fact that she wrote ‘at your worst’ about her father and when she had to play it to her team her dad was there and she was like “umm sooo hehe dad…. this song is about you:))))” 😭😭😭😭
The fact that Madison wrote, produced AND directed the music video for Spinnin is insane and also Madison named it “silence between songs” to represent how for a long time, she never appreciated the silence and peace of taking breaks between writing new music. she thought that the times when she was most happy was when she was making music but now realizes that she’s most at peace when she’s in these breaks and has time for self-reflection. imo, this is an amazing contrast to her previous album because she named it “life support” because she said that making that album was literally the only thing keeping her alive and happy. it shows how much she’s grown mentally.
I actually think the album is pretty damn good. Ain't no sophomore slump with this one. I'm glad you're checking this one out, Ash. I have a feeling this is an album you took a liking to.

this album is very cinematic, poetic and melancholic to me. madison really become one of my favorite pop girlies after this release. i really don’t know about madison’s personal life, so i don’t wanna really speculate about her mental health, but some of her songs in this album make me think that maybe she might be like talking about depression? in a way? idk kinda lana del rey coded and i really like it
When I first saw Envy The Leaves, I was like “girl wth? 😭”, but I love her! 11:00, I understand too, Ryder made me cry and it didn’t help that my brother was there too. He kept asking me “what’s wrong?” and all I could do was apologize. This album was Madison’s era, in my opinion. I really liked this album. I have it on repeat (even though Ryder makes me cry every time I listen to it).
i’ve been a fan of madison since 2015 and through all of her releases wowowowow she found herself and found her sound. she has always been a beatles girl, a beach boys girl, a 60s girl, and you can tell that she was heavily influenced by that aesthetic and sound in this album. it truthfully feels like she found herself through her music and her book and i’m just so proud of her for everything she’s overcame
Spinnin is one of my favourite songs of all time, perfectly encapsulates the feeling of depression/anxiety. Recently went through a shit breakup and I had this song on repeat, the lyrics didn’t really hit until that moment 😭
So happy you did her album. Like can we please give miss Madison her flowers? The vocals and production and harmonies are everything. Also I don’t hate your album ranking for once (except envy the leaves is my fave).
so, ive actually recently just finished her memoir "the half of it" such an amazing book becuase i didn't really know who she was, i learned alot, and i related alot. the book also help me understand her, and the new ablum. what i loved about it the most is when she talks about the mental health she went through. And listening to this ablum personally felt like i was being heard and that im not the only one who goes through struggels that she dealt with. she did state in the book that "i want to make people feel less alone by making art." At first i didnt really enjoy the whole ablum, but like you said, 3 days later the entire ablum makes sense and amazing.
at your worst is actually not about a relationship but about her dad! she was on the zach sang show the other day (highly recommend watching btw it was so fun) and said that the first time he heard the song they were in a reunion with the label. when the song was over someone asked him what he thought of it and he said that madison should write whatever she feels or something like that
It was the same for me with the album tbh. The first time I listened to it I was like "Wow this is definitely an album" and the more I listened to it the more I started liking and eventually loving it.
I actually really liked this album. While Life Supports had heavy production, SBS is softer in its melodies and highlights Madison's beautiful voice ✨️ I don't understand why this album got these low ratings, but i think it is a grower and people will appreciate it more later. To me, it's a good sophomore and definitely a step up in Madison's career ! And like you said, i wish people would take her more seriously, because she has talent 😕
ok coming back to this react vid AFTER SEEING HER LIVE AT THE ENCORE TOUR, and oh my god... madison's music just really hits you after you give it a good sit down, for SURE!
I fell so in love with this record. It is truly HER. Like when I hear those melodies my mind goes straight to Madison. Is it better than Life Support? No. Is it a good album? Hell yes. I can’t wait for sit on it for a while and see what I’ll say in a month
Spinnin is about the panic attacks she was going through at nighttime especially and she felt like she was spinning out of control…leaves is about her looking at the trees and looking at beautiful they are, how they don’t have the anxiety she feels, and how they ground her. This was from a podcast she did so I hope I worded her words correctly haha ❤ love Maddison SO much and love your videos ALWAYSSSSSS
Ryder made me cry. Like damn. Madison really fucked me up with that one because i'm an older sister too. I love this album so much. I'd been hoping she'd realize how talented she is at this type of music and keep going with it just like Life Support. She has, thank god. She found her sound. I love that for her. (And me. Hehe.)
madison really created an incredibly cohesive album within the production and lyrics, so proud of her. like, it’s the way the end of spinnin’, reckless and king of everything have the same ending. a genius.
This album is a grower for sure. I think I'm always captured by Madison's vocals and they keep me coming back and then I get hit by the lyrics and feelings in the songs. I have never heard someone have so much emotion while they're singing - this album was haunting in that way honestly, I like it a lot.
Madison was in a podcast called the cut the camera podcast about a week ago and she talks about the album a lot and which songs are her favorites and you also get to learn more about her as a person. i would really recommend watching it
this album was the first exposure I had to Maddison's music and boyyy was I impressed. Really digging the soft and chill production. It's really cohesive and her voice is just so sweet. loved it
I didn't even know that King Of Everything is about Scooter until now 😃 It's been my favorite song since i first listened to it & still continues to be but now it definitely has a 'slay' factor to it 😁🔥
Can't even be mad at ur rankings because ur opinions and perspective on each track is so in depth. I'm rly glad you go into analyzing the lyrics especially with madison because imo she's an extremely underrated songwriter it's the best part of her music.
this is her best music to date like AHHHHH I can't stop listening to it, it's such a vibe throughout and so sonically cohesive without all sounding the same, this style really does belong to her cause she's just a masterclass act with it :)))))loveitloveitloveit
I was really moved to find out “at your worst”is about her dad. She spoke on it, excellent interview by Zach tang podcast!! She played it for him and he thought it was super beautiful and moving as well 🥲
I really was feeling pretty low today and when Ash posted it gave me such Happiness that i had not seen in a while so thank you Queen for posting and making my day better
this album is absolute perfection!!! it became my most streamed album in a week and i’m not surprised 😭 faves are sbs (title track), sweet relief, & 17 🤍
This one really had to sit with me. First listen right as it came out I was disappointed to say the least. Now that i've had it for some time i love it. My faves are 17, silence between songs, sweet relief and spinnin (no particular order)
This album got me really really good, i love it so so much, it feels just so nice and so perfect and spectacular, just like Life Support. I didn't want to compare the at first when SBS was released because i really REALLY love Life Support so i didn't wanted to have high expectations but Madison DELIVERED as always. 10/10
I felt that Madison really found her sound with this album. So proud of her.
Maybe is her sound, but, I really need another album with the LS vibes 😭🤎
That means i got the same tastes as her cuz this album is my SHITTTT
yes yes yes!!!!! this album is so good
the fact that she wrote ‘at your worst’ about her father and when she had to play it to her team her dad was there and she was like “umm sooo hehe dad…. this song is about you:))))” 😭😭😭😭
wait fr!? i had no idea it was about him!
and he was just like “that was beautiful” 😭😭😭

im so proud of her
she wrote “at your worst” about her father… girl the daddy issues are SO true
I actually think the album is pretty damn good. Ain't no sophomore slump with this one.
I'm glad you're checking this one out, Ash. I have a feeling this is an album you took a liking to.
definitely underrated at the moment... hopefully it picks up some traction... honestly needs more boost.
nothing matters but you being anywhere except the top 3 is a CRIME.
I think Ashley needs to listen to At Your Worst again knowing that Madison wrote it about her father… it really hits different.
oh that's definitely gonna hit her bad if she re-listens
It's definitely a grower album because it feels so different compared to everything else the pop girlies are releasing. Now I love it

This album is definitely her singer-songwriter, slower (old Hollywood) era
I appreciate it and it might hit harder when I’m not in my upbeat music era
I have had this album on repeat. For me personally, I think it is better than Life Support. But, both albums are so damn good!
Miss Madison’s vocals were working harddd on this album 😭✨ I love u Ash

I definitely agree that this album is a grower. I didn’t really enjoy it like life support on first listen but now it’s on repeat
"Envy The Leaves" deserves better, Ash. What a gorgeous, ethereal ballad 😭 Come on, now!
fk man i love that song
this album is very cinematic, poetic and melancholic to me. madison really become one of my favorite pop girlies after this release. i really don’t know about madison’s personal life, so i don’t wanna really speculate about her mental health, but some of her songs in this album make me think that maybe she might be like talking about depression? in a way? idk kinda lana del rey coded and i really like it
this album is so magical the harmonies and scales she uses on this album are so beautiful it’s haunting🤍✨
When I first saw Envy The Leaves, I was like “girl wth? 😭”, but I love her! 11:00, I understand too, Ryder made me cry and it didn’t help that my brother was there too. I literally feel the same 😭

I finally saw her live on Thursday in Munich and hearing this album LIVE healed me
This album is always on repeat for me and it just makes me cry because madison really describes her feelings and understands the general public
So happy you did her album. Like can we please give miss Madison her flowers? The vocals and production and harmonies are everything. Also I don’t hate your album ranking for once (except envy the leaves is my fave).

This album is literally amazing. The sound is unique and the lyrics are amazing. I love it sm
Girl I used to not really like showed me but idk after like a year I really liked it😭 it took so long but I think the music video helped too
at your worst is actually not about a relationship but about her dad! she was on the zach sang show the other day (highly recommend watching btw it was so fun) and said that the first time he heard the song they were in a reunion with the label. when the song was over someone asked him what he thought of it and he said that madison should write whatever she feels or something like that

i just found out about madison and am in absolute love with her💓
This album grew on me A LOT since i have listened for like 70 times. 😍
madison really created an incredibly cohesive album within the production and lyrics, so proud of her. like, it’s the way the end of spinnin’, reckless and king of everything have the same ending. a genius.
Ryder?! KILLLLLLLSSSSS ME like I really relate to the song and omg I can’t
Its a masterpiece and people need to put some more respect on madison beer as a songwriter!
Sweet relief just taking over…same

Ash giving sweet relief the moment it deserves. A mellow pop classic.
