This place was used to be part of the Philippines, but somehow end up in Malaysia. But I rather like Malaysia to govern it, because if that still Philippines, I bet it's a lot more dirtier.
It began with immigrants given as a gift to Hantu Suluk before a White made a contract and pass down a lot before ended up by a huge British company and ended up by being owned by Imperial Japan before British Empire owns all of it legally before Melayu Land brought it off due to the inhabitants there are really stupid over fork, spoon, chopsticks, cups, plates, and bowls.
I agree waste management is really bad in sabah due to refugees, and illegal immigrant settlements there. I wish we can emulate Brunei in managing plastic waste on water villages. Education is non existence for refugees and illegal immigrants
Thank you for your comment. It is important to highlight problems as well as amazing destinations. As the journey through Borneo continues I hope you will stay tuned in! Thank you again for your support!
@Anewlifetraveling it is not a shock to me, I know sabah has this issue. Mabul island has sea gypsies too(on the island) and one of the best diving for Macro plus nearby sipadan. But again like India ugly / beautiful.
People love aom places and don’t like other places. For me, the areas around Sandakan made it the perfect place to stay. However, there is a lot of poverty and areas that are too dirty for sure.
Never heard of that place before. It seems so calming and Beautiful. The end very sad 😢
Unfortunately this is not an isolated place. Too many beautiful places are extremely polluted..
