ANIMAL CRACKER READS BODY LANGUAGE of HORSE and DELIVERS ADJUSTMENT! (PART 2 OF 2)

  • Animal Cracker, Dr. Doug Willen, reads the body cues of Pixie, and adjusts the poll, TMJ, hip, lumbars and C6.The hips adjustment is pretty loud in this video.
Pixie, is a "Super Spokes-Person/Horse". She is a rescue horse that was surrendered to Rising Starr Horse Rescue. She is a permanent resident at Rising Starr. She has been working hard doing public events, visiting nursing homes, schools and parades helping educated people about responsible horse ownership!
HERE IS PIXIE'S FIRST CHIRO SESSION: • ACHEY TENDER JAW (TMJ)...
RISING STARR HORSE RESCUE saves, rehabilitates, retrains and rehomes abandoned, neglected or abused horses and educate about at-risk horses and the importance of protecting them.
By giving America's horses a second chance at life we give the community the chance to experience the love, patience and compassion horses have for humans.
When Kelly Stackpole decided to open her barn to teach noncompetitive horse lessons in 2005, her goal was to bring her passion and love for these incredible animals to others and guide them toward finding a similar love and connection to horses. She did not expect, while looking for horses to fill her barn, to discover that young, sound and healthy horses as well as older horses were being disregarded and often sent off to slaughter. As soon as she became aware that any of the animals beloved to her were not treated in a humane way, she found another mission, and Rising Starr Horse Rescue was born.
Rising Starr relies on a group of talented and specialized veterinarians, chiropractors, staff, and volunteers who work together to approach each horse’s rehabilitation. This team of dedicated individuals ensures that every horse becomes healthy, happy, and confident before moving on to its new home.
Beyond restoring comfort and care to these horses, our purpose at Rising Starr is to inform others about the cruelty of horse slaughter while providing guidance on how to decrease the number of unwanted horses in the United States.
Every member of our program treats all of our horses with the love and respect they deserve - it's their passion. Our volunteers include many teens and children, as we hope that by raising children that are thoughtful and caring about the treatment of horses, we will have the biggest impact on the future of America's horses.  Not only does RSHR have a Dedicated board but we are developing a Youth board to continue our work in the future.

Dr. Willen, I want to say thank you for these videos. I have a neck issue that needs a chiropractor, but I have PTSD and was terrified to go to a chiropractor. I tried watching human chiropractic videos to learn what to expect, but I couldn't get past the fear. Then I found you, working so gently with horses and other animals, and explaining everything as you go. It was just the exposure therapy I needed. I've watched a dozen or more now, taking in as much as I can and registering the relief on the animals' faces. Unlike humans, that can't be faked, and has given me a lot of confidence. I will be going to my husband's chiropractor on Thursday afternoon. Thank you.

This was probably shot during the same day as the other video (of a sensitive Arabian). I thank you for telling the woman to give some slack but in 10 seconds she kept it tight anyways. If a horse can’t move it’s head at all that also results in irritation and sometimes even more moving around, trying to get relief. You did well, kept reminding yourself to breathe. I think that she was very tender and still didn’t trust you completely. I think she will feel a lot better after a few sessions, she seems like an onion - when you peel of one layer you find more stuff, again and again. Beginning to trust you more and more. For this spicy little girl I would also recommend a session outside in a paddock and more slack on the lead, she has to be able to chew comfortably after each adjustment but if she is kept on a short leash she gets distracted (I think). Great video as always! ❤️🙏🏻

I could feel the tension in the lead too. That tension translates to the horse. The woman should take deep breaths to help her to relax and connect to the horse. This helps in massage therapy too.

I'm working at a stable with around 25 horses - depending on how many guests hiring - and it's amazing to see these videos and learn more. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, me and my boss don't have time to spend on more education for me at the moment as we have so much work to do without help, so I had no idea chiropractic could do this much for horses.
I love how calm and secure you are with them and how one can see when they feel relief like "Oh, it... it doesn't hurt??? Anymore?? Well... thanks, human!"
    Thanks for posting this!!!

Too much noise and activity in that Barn, just like the Arabian, very high strung beauties. The woman seemed a bit preoccupied, and aggravated with this beautiful horse. Thinking maybe this horse is under quite a bit of stress with all the activities she does as an ambassador for this Connecticut horse rescue group. Hope the woman can calm down herself. I'm sure she is under quite a bit of stress herself, running this rescue mission for horses. Maybe the money issues are getting difficult. That wouldn't be surprising in the financial condition of our country. She may benefit from an adjustment herself. I wish this horse rescue barn to continue, and to become highly successful.

Hope you had a great weekend everyone!! Hey Doc, I do that "Doug Tug" and it seems to be helping out our Labraberian very well. I also checked his "ATLAS". I could get 2 fingers on the right side and only 1 finger on the left. As I don't know how to do the adjustment correctly, I just rocked it gently from side to side, and I did that for about 5 minutes. As I neared the 5 minute mark, all of a sudden, because of the gentle massage and constant pressure on the wings, I felt it slip and give a little POP!! So I checked the spaces again and I could get 2 fingers on either side!! My mother was looking at me like I was nuts, and she was saying, Duke doesn't like that, stop doing it! So I asked her to really look at his eyes. He had fallen asleep and was snoring as soon as it went POP!! The minute I stopped, he opened his eyes, yawned, stood up, gave a big stretch with butt in the air, and fully stood up, and came around the coffee table and shook it out!! I was quite pleased with myself, and gave myself a virtual pat on the back for a job well done. As I'm the only one he trusts to cut his nails, I knew I could do the Doug Tug with no issue. And I have no idea what made me check the Atlas today, but I'm super glad I did!! I did no bone maneuvering at all, just massage, and it slipped back in all nice and even. Have a great evening Everyone!! I know I'm going to enjoy mine, knowing I helped my fathers dog feel more comfortable today. Oh, and I did some gentle traction on his tail after the Atlas. He really seemed to enjoy all the attention!! I do the Doug Tug twice a week, and and it seems to be helping, but I check everyday. If there is any spasm then it gets done an extra day that week. Thank you so much for letting me learn from you something that can help my dads dog, and the 2 cats that are here as well. We have not had a hairball incident since I've been doing the Tug on them, but I do put a hairball remedy on their paw that they lick off and they can then pass it rather that vomit it up. Have a Great Week!! Stay Safe Everyone!!! From Ontario, Canada, Jenn. 💖 💖 🇨🇦

Hi Jenn! Your comment was the highlight of my morning! It's true, you don't have to pop the Atlas, sustained pressure works great. It takes more time, but it gets the job done in many cases. If it's stuck, it probably needs a thrust. There are chiropractic techniques that do not involve pops. One that I remember ( I never studied this one), but its called DNFT. Directional Non Force Technique, and you were basically doing that. You must be in the right spot, and then you can guide the alignment. I find dogs and horses will help push back into you, and help with their own bodies. Bravo, Bravo!
I'm also glad that the Doug Tug is working too.
Have a wonderful day, my friend!

@@AnimalCrackerDrDougWillen This is a dog, that at 2 years of age, after going for his 45 minute lunch time walk, an 18 month old came over to. He sat down, and let this little one pull on his ears, and climb on him to ride him like a horse, and (he's large enough for an 18 mth old to do that with!!! LOL), but as soon as the little one started to lose his balance, it was Duke who stood up, and the toddler grabbed him by the Ear and the Scruff. All Duke did was lean his body the other way until the little one had his feet back under him, then he went through the sprinkler at the park, got a drink, and I gave the little one 1/2 a milk bone to give to Duke as a reward for being such a good boy. The father was right there, ready to yank his son out of the way if Duke got exuberant in taking his treat. I just said to Duke 2 words. EASY, BABY!! Our dog didn't even touch the child at all, but the child giggled. So I asked, Why are you laughing?? He told me, Doggie's whiskers tickled, like Daddy!!! Just goes to show, there are no bad dogs. It is ALL UP TO THE PERSON ON THE OTHER END OF THE LEASH that teaches the dog how to be. Best Regards and Stay Safe Everyone!! From Ontario, Canada, Jenn. 💖 💖 🇨🇦

Hi Holly, I'm going back to Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue this weekend, and volunteering for 3 days. Hope to film 20+ horses. You are so right. The draft horses are easy compared to the spunky ones.

Did you see her first adjustment?
Pixie is a typical pony, full of attitude, and she is a spoiled little madam on top of it.
Her attitude toward him improves throughout the adjustment, even with a million distractions.
