@@johnquigley456 he's missed completing two full seasons. What are you talking about? Unless I misunderstood you and if that's the case, I apologize.
People can say what they want about Burton, but the kid wants to be great & now has one of the best QBs in the NFL throwing him the ball. He might not start game 1 but will get more & more targets as the season goes & will burn many defenses this year in ways Boyd rarely could (as much as I liked Tyler).
I think you're wrong about Mims starting week 1 though. The only way I see them going with Mims to start the year is if Trent Brown gets injured before the season. After that, it probably depends on how good Brown does vs the Ravens & Browns for their first 2 AFCN games, starting week 5.
The Bengals are 4-8 vs the AFCN the last 2 years but are 17-3 vs the rest of the divisions in the NFL over the same 2 years, even with bad RTs. They play the Ravens in week 5 & then the Browns a few games later & if Trent Brown is really bad in those first 2 AFCN games we might see a switch to Mims then but I think Taylor is going to ride Brown for as long as he can before using Mims & Trent Brown's & the Bengals success or failure vs the Ravens & Browns in the first half of the season might go a long way towards determining how long Taylor goes with Trent Brown. I don't think they're worried much about how Brown OR Mims will do vs these early non-AFCN teams. Even their bad OL usually has done well vs non-AFCN teams the last 2 years. If they win AFCN games with Brown at RT, they're not going to switch to Mims no matter how ready he is, & I think they picked up Brown on a very affordable 1 year deal for the express purpose of not having to rush a rookie OT with very few reps, comparitively, into the starters role game 1.

Chase Brown is going to go off this year. So is Joseph Ossai and Myles Murphy and Burton. I think Trent Brown will start at RT and play well but if history is any guide Amarius Mims will
Get a chance to play RT this year. I would be fine if he had to start but hey he is only 21 and sitting behind Trent Brown and leaning from him and Orlando is an ideal situation. I have a feeling when we look back on
This draft in 4 years it will be obvious to everyone in the league that we got the best offensive tackle in this class. I think he is a future Pro Bowl and All Pro player. When we look back on this class in 10 years I would t be surprised if Mims is considered the best PLAYER in this draft.
Did you really say Trent Brown was an OK pickup ? Lol he gave up only 3 sacks all 2023 season. He is the clear starter all season they will bring Mims in on heavy packages .

All the same off-season hype every year.. were loaded to hit the ground running, but then start 0-2... remember last year when they were saying Irv Smith was an upgrade over Hurst, and Hurst was the upgrade over Uzamah... but Uzamah was better than both combined... Irv finished last year 3rd on the TE depth chart because a practice squad player took his job... Tanner Hudson... who I think has earned his shot at the #2 TE spot... not all of these guys will be healthy at the same time... that's the every year story for all teams... so yeah its nice to get excited for '24, but let's pump the brakes on "SuperBowl favorites" until we actually see what we've got... because Burrow surving day 1 of camp would be a great start this year
We played the toughest schedule in the League last year with a one legged QB who got his season ended as soon as he got healthy.
Is Tanner Hudson still a Bengal? I thought he played really well last year.

@@JC-1220 any QB would get injured just as much as he does having to play behind a bottom 5 oline for 4 years straight. He’s the MOST SACKED QB in the entire league since getting drafted in 2020, literally ANY QB would get injured just as often as Burrow does getting hit that many times
Lamar was injured in 2021 and 2022 and the Ravens were nothing.

I’ve BEEN saying MaHOMO just gets carried by his hall of fame head coach and hall of fame tight end. Not to mention year in and year out he has GREAT pass protection AND a great defense. Burrow hasn’t had a single oline in his entire career that was at least average at best, MaHOMO has all kinds of time to throw the ball. Put MaHOMO on the Bengals and he doesn’t even make the playoffs, put ANY QB on the Chiefs and they’d STILL win rings. Oh, and did I forget the part where the queefs constantly get handed free wins by the refs too?
