It was very generous of you and your husband to not only make this best of this whole mess, but to show your neighbors it's not so bleak, and to hopefully drum up more business with all the publicity. You both looked to happy with each other and it felt like watching a couple go through the centuries together with an everlasting love and unbreakable bond.
You are both so elegant and adorable ,so much fun!! Merlin is gorgeous to in his tuxedo,I had a tuxedo kitty,I loved him so!! Take care and come back soon!!!
Thank you so much for having me along. First time viewer! Unrelated Merlin story: There was a big feral cat that somebody tried and failed to domesticate. Then with his toes cut off (declawed) he was tossed aside to the animal shelter. The misguided youths doing penance there (court ordered community service) adored him and named him Merlin. I bonded with said Maine Coon Kitty immediately, and the wayward youngsters thanked me profusely for saving his life. Being old, feral, and declawed his chances for rescue were slim. Before long, Merlin and I were as close as any human and his/her domestic cat. He was indeed magic.
OMGOODNESS!!!!a that was simply delightful!!! And the dresses, and Lucius attire! We are always are so interested in what the women wore, we sometimes forget about the end! Love love love this video!! Thank you so much!
You didn’t just make a difference to your village, you helped a lot of people. The smiles I managed to find when you posted up your pictures at the time really did help me cope much better. Thank you for using your passion for historical clothing to lift peoples’ moods x
What fun! And seeing so many centuries/decades together affirms my love for the natural form era. Those gowns were especially lovely (and the hats!)!!!
When you pulled up your heavy overskirt to use as a cloak...it was so practical! Is that something that would have been socially acceptable at the time that outfit would have been worn?
There's just something about the way you two smile with and at each other that fills my heart with warm fuzzy feelings. It's clear you're in a happy relationship. Best wishes to you both, and may the love last many more a year ❤
I would be very interested if she has done a video on what fashion was the most functional vs attractive. I am not an expert, but once on a camping trip in the boy scouts we dressed up as an early 1900's scout. It may have looked weird by todays standards but it was very functional and layered it was easy to take off the wool overcoat when it got warm and the pants tucked into the boots made travel through the forest very pleasurable plus there were pockets galore.
dear Izabela, i love so many things about this! first, the costumes are gorgeous. i also love that you've included the reference pictures, along with the era. i think my favorite thing, though, are the candid and funny moments on video-- silly faces, twirls, "have you seen my horse?", etc etc. you and Lucas have such a close and wonderful chemistry, both in photos and behind the scenes. i'd totally watch more lowkey daily/slice of life videos!
My father came running when he heard me scream a couple of months ago, but there wasn't anything wrong, I was just amazed and delighted to see YOU in a national newspaper! It was such a nice surprise.
Merlin and Lucus are adorable, (and you and Lucus are so adorable together) you're so blessed to have them. When I was a child my family had a little tabby cat who would follow my sister and I out into the field to get the cow. The little thing was an outside barn cat, but she was ALL about walks with peoples. Her name was Sallyvester.
Love the costumes, but it made me miss walking around in our village as a child. I would run all over and through the fields until you hit that patch of stinging nettles. Ouch! You are not too much further north than us, we are from a small village outside of Wallingford.
We’ve missed you! Not at all related... but you have the loveliest eyes. I love the 17th c outfits- I would have loved to have seen the blue one again (we only saw it from the back in the photo) The skating outfit is *to die for* - & I still love the seafoam-inspired number, but the red & emerald ensemble is *stunning* !
Loved the costumes, when the ridding habit attire came up and then again for the out takes the first thing that popped into my head was the coconut gallop scene in Monty python's the holy grail, That would of been great for your pretend horse ride scene, if there had been some coconuts nearby lol.
Thank you for yet another interesting, funny and uplifting video. You guys are a lovely couple and seeing you find so much joy and satisfaction in your work and daily life genuinely makes me happy. Fashion history is a great passion of mine and I have found your channel to be one of the best resources around. I always promise myself that when I get married I'll have my wedding dress made by you! (Or I'll try to anyway :P)
Brilliant idea! Living in the 21st century doesn't mean that we are immune to a pandemic as we realize now...what better way to stroll through the centuries with you both - a remembrance of those that surely suffered through their own epidemics and plagues. These garments are so beautiful and fun to see. You both wear them with perfect flair, perfect music choices, even the flowers and breezes are perfect! :) Thank you from Boston Massachusetts!
Nice seaside outfits. Merlin is cute. I also like the 1700’s and late 1800’s attire. My grandfather was from the seaside in Yorkshire. Me I’m in SoCal , USA.
A small moment of fame my left foot madam. We know how many are really watching hanging on every new video. 😉Don't sell yourself short. I would love to see some of the design differences between English historical fashion, that of the Continent, and that of the US. I know we all swapped fashion but there are subtle differences and I would like to know more about them.
What fun! You have taught me so much about the evolution of fashion! I used to look for books that would describe and demonstrate this. You make it come alive! Thanks!
This is fantastic! You and your husband have such class. Really enjoy your videos and this one is long enough to really sink into and take time with. Your respect for your work shows in both of you. Especially, your humor. Wish you lived in my neighborhood!
Hi from the U.S. - I really enjoyed this video. I plan on sharing it with 2 friends who love historical clothing. You are so lucky to live in such a lovely country village. It provides a great setting for for all your period wear. Here's hoping that next year is better. Kudos to Merlin the cat! He is quite a scene stealer in those videos he manages to get in.😉👍🥂
Your village is stunning and is lucky to have such a lovely view of you walking in your beautiful outfits. This has brightened my day. Thank you from Portland Oregon USA
That was delightful. I’m so glad you put it in order with dates. I can’t ever remember which periods I like the best. I know which styles I like I just don’t remember what the time period is. I liked the 1840 and the 1886-7. And I would love to live in your village and see you in your beautiful period outfits each time you go out. What a lovely thing that would be.
I enjoyed this so much. I always enjoy your channel but this one was special. I know it’s a lot of work but it looks like a lot of fun. This is coming from someone who’s been wearing sweatpants and T-shirts for the last 60 days. A big thank you from Richmond, Virginia, USA
Fantastic to see them all together. Particularly like the photo of Lucas setting up the camera with Merlin supervising - 2 men dressed in just black and white 🤗
Absolutely loved ALL of the dresses ❤! If I thought I could get away with it and wear nothing but 18th century gowns to work, but we have a dress code😕
Greetings from Boston! I absolutely love watching your videos and find it simply adorable that it’s a husband and wife team having so much fun with it! I’d give anything to dress up in 16th century/Tudor style gowns even if for a moment just for the fun of it! 🤴👑👸🏼
The skating outfit is the cutest thing I've ever seen! But my mouth dropped open at the red and green one, those colours look like you could eat them! They remind me of a lollipop we have in Australia called a toffee apple
Delightful...I have enjoyed so many of your prior attire videos. So much fun to hear your voices and see you walk about countryside in the many different eras.
What fun!!! I enjoyed myself while watching this video trying to remember...I have seen many of those outfits in previous videos. What beautiful work. Thank you for sharing.
If I had all these beautiful clothes I'd wear them every day! Absolutely gorgeous - your so talented! Thank you for sharing this, always love your work.
That was fantastic! 😄I am glad to see that you've found a way to keep your costumes in good shape, and keep you and all of us smiling.😊 And I do envy your neighbors...😁
Absolutely an education of the evolution of the silhouette! Love seeing how the clothing move and looks so comfortable to walk in. Come on down to my neighborhood!
Oh, this is wonderful! Thanks for compiling it all. The outtakes are also particularly fun, all the anachronisms putting the historical clothing next to modern things like camera, computer, and sunglasses... and Merlin, of course.
It was very generous of you and your husband to not only make this best of this whole mess, but to show your neighbors it's not so bleak, and to hopefully drum up more business with all the publicity. You both looked to happy with each other and it felt like watching a couple go through the centuries together with an everlasting love and unbreakable bond.
aww! couldn't have said it better myself.
They're such a light. Times are chaotic but these two just bring joy into my life simply by interacting.
I agree! It almost felt like they were time-travellers exploring the ages together.
You are both so elegant and adorable ,so much fun!! Merlin is gorgeous to in his tuxedo,I had a tuxedo kitty,I loved him so!! Take care and come back soon!!!
You and your husband have such a fun energy between you, that made it all the more fun to watch.
As a History Nerd I got quite a few. I love the Nell Gwyn one. She was cool, if I got hold of a time machine, I'd go to meet her.
i had read about this in a headline during the pandemic. never would have thought it was you!
Is she dressing like anne boleyn

OMG!! That second-bustle dress is a stunner! And I love that the Merlin content makes him appear immortal. Fitting given his namesake.
OMGOODNESS!!!!a that was simply delightful!!! And the dresses, and Lucius attire! We are always are so interested in what the women wore, we sometimes forget about the end! Love love love this video!! Thank you so much!
Your braid improvisation was fantastic! LOL!

This is just so joyful. I would love to be in your village and see you out for a stroll. This is making me smile so much because it is just so sweet.
"ohh my husband, I love him"
dawwwwwwwwww
There's just something about the way you two smile with and at each other that fills my heart with warm fuzzy feelings. It's clear you're in a happy relationship. Best wishes to you both, and may the love last many more a year ❤
What a splendid video! What amazing costumes! Great escape from this annus horribilis, 2020!

You, my lady are adorable and your husband is a natural gentleman! You are both stunning and very charismatic!

That bread replacement gave me a good laugh, just like the sunglasses. Love it you entertained the villagers.
My father came running when he heard me scream a couple of months ago, but there wasn't anything wrong, I was just amazed and delighted to see YOU in a national newspaper! It was such a nice surprise.

I keep imagining people in the village standing at their windows and waving. :D
What a wonderful idea and what a treat to the village it must have been.wish I had been there to see you both.
I was having a very difficult day-- thank you for ending it so cheerily!
Also, I, too, am always pleased with Merlin footage >^.^
Beauty, how much love and work of a passionate needlewoman is invested!!!Thank you, I'm delighted!!!Super!!!
So awesome!! I love how the landscape (the lane) seems to match each outfit each time and the clothes bring the landscape into different eras!
Oh my stars, I need that 1860 pink skating outfit in my life.
Loved the costumes, when the ridding habit attire came up and then again for the out takes the first thing that popped into my head was the coconut gallop scene in Monty python's the holy grail, That would of been great for your pretend horse ride scene, if there had been some coconuts nearby lol.
I like anybody who references Monty Python. Clop clop clop clop.
A NEW PRIOR ATTIRE VIDEO! Best cure for the Monday blues!

This was so much fun! Thank you for sharing. I would think your neighbors enjoyed this as much as you.
I absolutely love that you used a bra instead of braids when you couldn't find them!! That is hilarious.
awesomeness and Merlin had some cameos
Brilliant idea!

I love this channel so much because I can correctly criticise my classmates and other people who don't know a thing about historical dresses.
My absolute favorite!! You both are so talented. To see history come to life! So happy. Thank you.
That was delightful. I’m so glad you put it in order with dates. I can’t ever remember which periods I like the best. I know which styles I like I just don’t remember what the time period is. This made my day! It would have been so fun to see you walking around town in full regalia, and maybe follow your example ☺
That was fun....came close most of the time guessing periods.
Thank you for the entertainment! I'm from across the pond, and I enjoyed it.
I enjoyed this so much. I always enjoy your channel but this one was special. I know it’s a lot of work but it looks like a lot of fun. This is coming from someone who’s been wearing sweatpants and T-shirts for the last 60 days.

Merlin should get a little outfit too since he helps so much.
How wonderful that you have each other! What a joy!
What great fun for your village this must have been! One of my favourite of your videos. Fantastic stuff!
Fantastic to see them all together. Particularly like the photo of Lucas setting up the camera with Merlin supervising - 2 men dressed in just black and white 🤗
Wonderful video! Everything is perfect (I especially loved the precise colors of the Middle Age)
You both are a lovely couple.
Thank you!

What a wonderful and sweet idea!
I wanna try on all these dresses so bad!! It's so interesting to see these types of 'timeline' videos, thank you!
oh thank you for this. You and your husband make dress-up for adults look fun. and Merlin is studly as always.
The skating outfit is the cutest thing I've ever seen! But my mouth dropped open at the red and green one, those colours look like you could eat them! They remind me of a lollipop we have in Australia called a toffee apple
LOVE this. What a lovely thing for your neighbors to look forward to!
What a delight! Maybe it's not my place to say it but it is so good to see both of you so happy and enjoying each other's company.
I'm sure it's appropriate in the year 2020 to say that...yes, they are a charming couple.
Haha, loved this. The ending was especially great!
Awesome idea, great to see the outfits in context and how practical most were.
Wonderful. You two are such a fun couple. Thank you for dressing up and sharing
I love this! What a fantastic and fun way to keep spirits up as well as upkeep on the clothes! Well done!
I'm so impressed his wig didn't blow off in the 13th century constitutional! The whole video was lovely!

Absolutely an education of the evolution of the silhouette! Love seeing how the clothing move and looks so comfortable to walk in. Come on down to my neighborhood!
Inspiring! I hope one day to have such an impressive wardrobe.
I love your channel and especially all the historical clothing.
Oh, this is wonderful! Thanks for compiling it all. The outtakes are also particularly fun, all the anachronisms putting the historical clothing next to modern things like camera, computer, and sunglasses... and Merlin, of course.
That pink fluffy winter outfit made my day.
Those bathing costumes are quite scandalous! 🤣
This is wonderful, I just luv the outfits! Absolutely extraordinary
