If the sanctified relics are gone along with the invocations, it's not that profitable a mechanic compared to other juiced stuff, so yea it could definitely go core. Also if they're not making them go core they should at least add sanctum specific uniques to the core drop pool.
I could only see it as a useful currency farming for builds and players that are too weak for high end mapping, but skilled enough to beat sanctums. I hope they at least keep the original sin ring and other unique sanctums, regardless of where sanctum ends up. I'm definitely keeping the original sin I bought just in case.
