- Valenciennes is a commune in the Nord department in northern France. It lies on the Scheldt river. Although the city and region experienced a steady population decline between 1975 and 1990, it has since rebounded.

Ce nouveau Valenciennes refait dans les années 2006/2016 n'a plus rien du Valenciennes de mon enfance et de mon adolescence. ( fin 90'/2000') . Tous les bars et commerces que je fréquentais ont disparu, Match et Flunch ont été rasé et les nouveaux immeubles ont poussé comme des champignons. Désormais vieillissant, il ne me reste que des souvenirs. Mais je dois bien avouer que c'est plus beau comme ça..
Merci pour ce tour et finalement la "découverte" de cette ville que je ne connais plus.

J'ai logé un certain temps des tailleurs de pierre qui ont bossé sur ce chantier.... C'est une oeuvre d'art ce batiment
Parei pour l'ancienne caserne rue de Lille, l'hotel de ville en renovation en ce moment meme, l'ancienne caserne des pompiers qui a été rasée récemment parking de l'esplanade, place carpeaux, l'ancienne piscine qui a brulé, le nouveau stade du Hainaut, etc,etc
Ca construit tout le temps.

Merci pour cette belle balade en ville, j'ai la chaire de poule en voyant cette vidéo, j'ai préparé mon master en 2004 à l'université jules mousseron, à l'époque le tram était en construction bref que des souvenirs merci encore.
