They throw the word genius around a lot, but the cassette running on your 90's posts adds a lot to the nostalgia of these shows, and is indeed genius on your part.

I agree with that 100%.
Gary is easily most normal and then it is a crapshoot after that. Fred is a Martian who flips out if someone breathes on him. Jackie is an ego-maniac that is insanely jealous of everything. Robin a complete narcissist who is incapable of empathy and Howard is just all over the place lol
Howard is good and hiding how insane he is. Like Robin said at one point he can't do anything for himself. He has a thousand assistants that take care of his whole life
Ah back when the show felt like family. They all were relatable in their own way.
As the 90s progressed and certainly after the loss of Jackie and the move to satellite the show lost this.
The movie was the beginning of the end.

Easy to see now that Howie was always a poser and pretender. Everything from his personality, to denying his heritage and religion in public.
Fred, Jackie, Gary, Howard, then robin. Everyone said Fred is weird but he’s probably the most normal. Living a private life without wanting everyone in your business seems normal to me.
Yeah Fred really isn’t as weird as people make him out to be. Jackie and Robin are easily weirder and Howard takes the cake
Pretty sure Fred was still struggling with quitting smoking around this time - kinda obvious that that’s where he was running off to when they couldn’t find him. He wanted a smoke and was embarrassed and also didn’t want Howard doing an hour long bit on it
Do you happen to have the rest of this? I remember faxing them my list of the weirdest and had it taped at the time since they actually read it on air but have since lost the cassette. I have been hoping to come across this, what a find and great episode of the show.
The more I think about it, my fax may have been read the next day but still, I would love to be able to hear it once more.
Also that notorious story with Fred staying over Howard’s and eating hot dogs: Howard said the backstory was there was a huge blizzard coming and so Fred was going to stay with Howard and Allison. Allison went shopping and planned to have fish for dinner: well that’s the weird shit right there - if you were having a guest over for dinner wouldn’t you A. kinda have an idea what they like so you would know what to serve or even maybe Ask them? And B. surely most people are aware that there’s a vast amount of people who simply do not eat fish. This was a really poor decision on Allison’s part imo so she’s the weirdest lol

Lol not even just thinned skinned but the manner in which he would choose to argue and take shit, like someone would jokingly say “oh Fred has a weird eating habit.” And he would take such offense and shoot back with like a machine gun “Robin you’re all alone and you’re fat.” Lol tf dude? 😂
FYI: most normal is the insult and weirdest is the compliment. No one exceptional would be called normal. Everyone who has ever accomplished anything great has been called weird.
People think terms like “normal” and “down to earth” are compliments but I don’t see them that way. They aren’t bad things, but they don’t tell me this person is special or of some great merit.
When I worked in radio, nothing infuriated me more than someone cutting my mic. I broke a set of headphones in a dialogue similar to this.
I loved this show as a kid , once Jackie left it tanked , Billy too was great

The greatest era of the show
Fred is the only normal one on the show. Howie is by far the weirdest, Gary is like an old woman, Robin is nuts and Jackie has the weirdest "stage act" ever.
Fred the Freak is as far from normal as you can get
Did you even listen to this audio? Fred is absolutely unhinged. His emotional outbursts are always extremely inappropriate.
Call him weird one time and "YOURE BEING MEAN! YOU ARE PILING ON AND CALLING ME WEIRD" then throws and breaks his microphone??? thats normal?

You must be new around here, otherwise you'd understand that it's pure projection and deflection on the part of Howie and Robin all of their criticisms of Fred. Fred is smart and funny and won't take sht in the way that that old woman, Gary does - isn't that to be admired? Fred is the "secret weapon" on the show and Howie is so lucky to have found him. He's hilarious, diligent and bright.
Put it another way, Gary got 118 in the IQ test - Fred would easily get into the 130s and Howie and Robin wouldn't even break 100.

I think Fred is a good person. I think Howard and Robin are not. Robin has no talent other than sounding white. Howard gained success because hes a psychopath but Fred is definitely weird..
I do not think Fred is mensa level intelligent. The way he reacts to situations tell me that. He doesn't understand what is appropriate behavior. He never takes a joke and instead flips out. 0-100 type. He doesnt understand how other people percieve him.

The only reason Fred isn’t normal is because he’s the genius of the group. Usually someone with that high IQ is eccentric. Robin and Howard are disasters and Gary is pretty weird himself.
Robin's awesome. During the years when Artie was on the show she had the worst laugh of all time but she's still awesome

Howard is far from normal. Neither is robin. I know Fred is odd and does odd things and there must be a reason they say he’s from Mars so those are the 3 worst imo. I can’t speak for the rest.
I've been a lifetime listener since ""1983 til today," 2024. reruns still count. This Portuguese/ Jersey / L..Island. boy .They're going to have to rip these old cassette tape from my old hands. ps i'm the most normal. 36yrs in the states__,10yrs in Australia,-- back to Portugal where i was born. Its a beauitiful world out there. Now go find an adventure
