There's actually a reason why GM doesn't offer the 3.0L Duramax for the Yukon AT4/Tahoe Z71. The AT4 and Z71 have a unique front fascia with higher cuts to the lower section of the bumper to allow for better approach angle. Due to this, it obstructs the intercooler and intercooler piping location for the 3.0L Duramax.
I was wondering about that too as soon as he said it. I haven’t seen anything that says it’s gone. I’m sure they have to for epa. But maybe dfm doesn’t have as many issues as afm?
@@stephenkane741 not sure, he made this comment in two videos. I commented on both videos and there has been no response. From what I understand AFM was worse but DFM isn’t great. Would be nice to have a video clarifying this.
good video!!! just want to point out that they offer captains chairs with the middle seat removed in the 2nd row, and they also offer an option to slide the console back to fit your wife’s purse.
We have a 21 z71 Tahoe and we wanted the diesel so bad… wish they would do it. With how much highway driving my wife does, I’m starting to look for that 3.0… but it kills me they still aren’t doing it in z71 or at4. We love the off-road look.
We looked at this vehicle before we got the Yukon Denali. Two things we didn’t like… 1. You could only get the 5.3 liter engine and we wanted the 6.2 in the AT4. The screen was not integrated into the dash. My wife did not like the screen that sits higher on the dash. Other than those two things, we love the SUV.
The 5.3L is too week for the XL model. I have a 2016 Tahoe LTZ with 5.3, I can feel a big difference in power with two 120 lb passengers in the back seats. I purchased the Tahoe after having a Escalade with 6.2, will not have another GMC SUV with 5.3.

Great analysis and explanation, I was wondering why it wasn’t offered in the truck based off-road suvs
Good job. I agree, the aforementioned should have a rear locking differential.
DFM is on the 5.3 and the 6.2 per GM’s on line info. AFM is gone but from everything I see DFM is very much a real thing on these.

Great video sir! Very informative.
No need for the rear locker because it should have that ELSD in the rear. At Least I know one package has that in the AT4.
Yeah, I would want the deisel too!
Keep the content coming.

I thought it had an Auto Locker G80?

get rid if that pos
Great Video, great information !
GM is said to be adding the LZO for 2024. But that would've steered even more buyers to the Z71/AT4 if they would've done it from the onset.

You must have been looking at the 2021 model. They added the 6.2L engine to the at4 package.
no taste
@@nabatron21 It was a 2021 edition. We ended up with the Yukon and it’s been great.
