I believe that is because the dx, dy is the global origin. This is kind of like setting a temporary origin (I think). Will look into it more later. You can set your dx, dy to zero by pressing the space bar (X, Y cannot be set like that though). Does that help?
When I click s, nothing happens, is there another way/shortcut to set the origin?

Yeah sorry about that. I haven't invested much in recording stuff, but I think have it a bit better with tweaking the OBS settings
