One of the least talked about forms of abuse. Boys abused by an older family member, friend etc. It seems that a guy that was abused has a hard time finding help.
Not to say that Art Kelly was not totally wrong if he abused those girls, however there is an interview on TH-cam, showing his older brother telling of the sex abusive they endured from the older sister.. very sad, how generational this is.

So powerful to hear these courageous stories.
First the truth will set you free, and then, countless others.

Wow! Devastatingly relevant on so many levels...I'm just heartbroken to resonate most with the one who held deep inside a horribly wrong belief that he somehow must have inspired others to act out on him in such evil ways. I could understand it from his perspective as clearly wrong. But in myself, I had not yet realized I share that false core of invisible guilt. And it is a man who owed me nothing, who just broke a deep chain that 8 months of CBT never tapped. Thanks to him, and to this project...who can count those helped? It's veyond measure. Most if us will never, ever comment.

      Victoria Lewis Completely Agree...
But with a childs small reasoning...you are the common denominator in each of the situations...
So that is how a child will internalize it.
This work IS SO VERY IMPORTANT ...
God Bless ALL Involved in supporting and furthering it's fruition globally....It gives me hope for the generations of innocent children to come...
so much courage to break down the generations of walls of silence and collusion.

Here is a pointer stop excusing our mother's, stop believing in this bogus concept of maternal instinct, stop disbelieving us, start listening to what we or I really want.

I am deeply in love with a man who's mother sexually abused him. He makes excuses for her and completely denies the things he told me even though he also showed me a video of them in his fathers bed. I dont know what to do. I love him but his relationship with his mother makes me sick. I am sure she still rapes him and although he is ashamed he has grown to enjoy it.

I so agree. We must put all this on the table, no longer to be hidden in the shadows but out in the open to be discussed , released, understood and transformed.

Im a 26 year old male victim of sexual, physical, verbal, neglect and emotionsl abuse in my childhood for about 10 years. I get extremely anxious when a girl touches me or anything sexual, even compliments or kissing. Is this normal, sex feels so traumatizing that i just cant do it ive only done foreplay but that was stressful enough causes i feel so helpless and powerless like theres nothing i can do. Thats why i never date or have sex and im 26, most embarrasing thing in my life im too ashamed to tell anyone.

That's what they don't tell you, it is bad enough being sexually abused as a kid and all the pain and confusion it causes at that time in your life. It's when you become a young man and sexually aware individual the real battle begins. For me it is impossible to sexually pair bond with a woman I love, I soon I as I start to feel deep feelings for a woman my body shuts down sexually. Like you I have feelings of anxiety and extremely uncomfortable it leaves me unable to perform sexually. I'm 45 years old and I have given up on a family or a meaningful relationship with a woman. I wish I had better news for you.

Thankfully there are more and more places where male survivors can get the help they need... It takes a long time to feel better. It never goes away but you learn to deal with it and the behaviours that come from it, in better ways. You deserve the help you need. Just keep swimming.

The Churches must assume their share of responsibility in child sexual abuse & face their responsibilities squarely! Instead of trying to correct the world vocally from their pulpits!

Thank god for David and other researchers working in this area, to bring this subject more and more into public awareness. The more that it can be talked about, the more that humankind will own it and deal with it. The #metoo movement is like a tidal wave exposing all unsavoury behaviours in humankind.

Emotional abuse is about making the child believe something is wrong with them. Abusive parents or "caregivers" have the compulsion to do this. It can be a cycle. Most people would rather blame the survivor for this as it makes them feel self justified in not helping or being part of a society that cares. Apathy can be seen everywhere

No. It will not be a joke. It will bring insight into "disruptive" behavior; allowing you to be supported or understood instead of punished.

Is the Percentage higher amongst certain ethnicities? I could invite you to West Africa or the Middle East, where standards of Masculinity is pivotal in society. I have been fortunate by age & a multi cultural background to inspire dnough confidence to makr men between 40-50 open up to me about sexual childhood abuse. It is painful to observe them transform before my eyes as they talk about such incidents & oblige me with detailed responses to my oftentimes probing questions! They are spiritually strong & emotionally courageous!

Manassa, the feeling that you have of safety and protection even during the abuse, is simply one thing. It is the Love of God and His Son and Holy Spirit helping you by your knowing you are NOT ALONE. For whatever reason when you came to Earth in this life you were going to have some horrible times. Turn to your Father, J and the HS. They promise to never ever leave you. I had to do the same. BTW, there are No PRIESTS needed to get to GOD. Jesus is your high priest. He takes your every need to the Father GOD.
