What’s gone wrong with DC in my opinion is the adoption of the prevailing wisdom of playing with three across the back ,with one of the best centre half’s in the league basically playing left wing back.There needs at the moment to be a flat back four with wing backs but with priority on defence, also at no time should there be a single defender on the back line this alone has caused many points to be lost over last season and this.
Team tactics and the awareness of the opposition team tactics is sadly not up to par.
Since the start of last season with the adoption of the new style of defensive plus the lack of a decent tempo and urgency the team is easily pinned back in their own half incessantly moving the ball about whilst trying to play the ball out from the back, meanwhile the opposition hold a high line compressing the play ,under such pressure the inevitable happens with a pass intercepted or the ball won in a challenge resulting in a short on goal or a goal, play will continue in this vein until the opposition do score a goal. At this point the opposition park the bus and hit on the break ,has nobody worked this out yet or is it a matter of sticking with the plan. The solution to this is not rocket science the DC forwards stay on the shoulders of the defenders and a ball is delivered over the top into the vacant half of the pitch ,with that tactic the high press won’t last long ,it’s really depressing to watch this unfold game after game after game ,we have the best squad of players in the league and at times are terrific to watch but confidence fades when early goals are conceded consistently

Never going to grow if there aren't at least some professional standards applied to these highlights, just sounds like Derry picked a couple of random fans out of the crowd for the commentary and that seems to happen with the majority of the games
