I saw Atreyu, Poison the Well, Face to Face and my personal fav, Strung Out In VA Beach in like 97-98. I can't exactly remember which year. I was still in high school. But it was fucking amazing
Fuck yea. I saw them in the mid to late 90s as well. I also was one of the lucky ones that got to see 88 Fingers Louie back then. It was a some little shitty bar called the Solid Gold Club in VA Beach. No one was really there. It was fucking amazing. I remember my buddy coming up to me and saying "check out the long hair playing pool". After the game he walked up on stage, but his axe on and started shredding. Lol. I was 15 at the time.
So underrated, Leon and Flip just KILLING it.

@@coryander4918 Yeah, I've been a fan since Hoss (because I didn't listen to punkrock before that) and Hang is easily in my top 3 Lagwagon albums. IMO it's much better than Resolve and Blaze.

The Fat documentary brought so many memories back, especially seeing all those old album covers and the parts where people were talking about reading the linear notes to find bands before the internet.
I remember my grandma saying to me that surfing, skating and jamming punk loudly (on my guitar and stereo) was just a phase and I'd grow out if it. Lol. Fuck that. 25 years later I'm still doing it, but only now doing all those things with my daughter.

Never been a big Lagwagon fan but that sound is straight fire. Do they have more material like this ? Less pop a bit heavy with some dynamics bass/guitars lines
Very similar sounding to most of their work in my opinion.
Some songs on Hang are pretty heavy.
I'd say the last 2 albums have quite a few songs with this sound. I guess Trashed does too. Check out Dangerous Animal, Cog in the Machine and Coffee and Cigarettes
They now have the guitarist and bassist from RKL so that would explain it.
Their first 2 albums duh and trashed are heavier and darker
Man punk shows just arent the same anymore. Lagwagon is on stage killing it and only 20 people are moshing. Most of the people on their phones filming it so lame. Lets go back to the time of the 80s and 90s life was way better

Sucks, but I agree. Been listening to Lagwagon since Fat Wreck started. I haven’t been to a Strung Out show in a while, but I’ve heard that Jason sounds pretty rough these days also. The veterans of Fat Wreck will always hold a place closest to my heart, but they don’t sound as good as they used to. I hate having to say that. Been listening to punk since 85, and the nineties were just the best.

Yea, fan of fat bands since early 90s. I think lagwagon’s new album is good and his voice is fine in the studio, but sounds pretty rough live. Sounds like he’s struggling a little. Fat mike’s voice has really gone downhill over the last 4 or 5 years. I think the new live face to face sounds really good though, and his voice sounds pretty consistent with how it always sounded, maybe because he doesn’t really yell or sing very high. I’d say Greg graffin has kept his vocals up quite well. Im sure drinking, drugs, and smoking, coupled with age contribute to some of these vocal issues.
Agreed; last good sounding Joey Cape was Blaze.
