Nice to see you on the plym and even better catching the bass, great advice on rig's and bait, hope you get over your illness soon, I'm out mullet fishing this bank holiday (weather permitting), looking forward to your next vlog, tight lines 🎣👊.
That rod bouncing on the rod rest looked good. Well done getting amongst the bass - probably helped you feel so much better landing a few fish - or at the very least forget you are feeling rough! I've been out on the estuary - first Gilt of the year a 3lb 3oz caught on my 8ft spinning rod single pat rig and size 10 choddy B hook armed with a couple of half dead ragworms. Obviously meant for a passing mullet or flounder! What a scrap that was. The rods rigged for Gilts produced one run between them which dropped the bait and a few schoolies. The spinning rod set up hooked another an hour after HW but it came off this time - caught sight of it which was annoying, didn't look or feel as big as the first.
Excellent well done mate Gilts very often come off because they pick up the bait and run away from other fish just holding the bait in their mouths then drop it 👍😊🪄
@@bassmansbountyfishing That's right, also important to put the rod butt in the rod rest cups, then set the drag lightly so the Gilt can run. A fishing buddy was chasing his rod down the muddy bank because he didn't have the rod secure, powerful fish. I use Shimano bait runners for Gilts, makes a big difference to the experience of gilt fishing.
That was a good session 👌...Thanks for the tips too... It looked Fishy in Teignmouth today but I didn't have the rods in the van, damn it lol 😆. Great video again 👏...love watching...great to see plenty of fish in Devons rivers and estuaries...
Really enjoyed that Paul, many thanks. No fishing for me this weekend I'm afraid as my car is at the Docs. Hope you and the family are feeling better soon 👍
Lol😅 I nearly jumped off the sofa when I saw the final bite going on behind you while you were talking to the camera. I think it was my natural reaction to seeing a rod bounce in the rod rest. I was there with you in mind if not in person and reacted to the bite😊😅 myself..
Good session mate, was out at a festival over the weekend, now i have the week off work gonna be sorting my allotment and of course i will be getting out witk a rod or 2 😊
Brilliant effort Paul. Thank you, I enjoyed the film. Sold my boat today, gonna get me a nice new shore reel some less than 70lb braid, a bit of finesse, a loaf of happy shoppers bread and I promise I won't copy your spots haha but 8 will try your methods nearby ish
Working the weekend sadly but did manage to get out last Thursday and had my first double figure 10lb11oz fish it was also my first small eyed ray rounded off my first 12 months of fishing nicely 🙂
Hi Bassman great session and love watching all your videos, was thinking what circle hooks do you use for your bass fishing if you don't want to answer that I understand
Another fine vlog, i must have passed you at least twice that day, taking rubbish to the tip. Never fished that mark nor the ebb tide on the Plym, what do I know after 60yrs of fishing the river (infrequently)
@bassmansbountyfishing I'd love to watch a video on that, those bass arnt feeding off the bottom all the time. You never know you could end up catching other species to. Wouldn't hurt to put a drift float out in the tide like a sleeper rod, you could cover lots of water.
Check out my online rigshop here guys 😊👍

Nice one ☝️ 😊
Old dog new tricks now you know mate
Easy spot 🪄
I reckon If you drifted a whole Mackrell out you'd end up with a biggie
In autumn winter perhaps mate 😊👍🙌
Hi Bassman....good to see you out there at 'em again! Could you tell me what rod rest you're using please? There's so many out there, I can't choose!!
The best one ☝️

Cheers, Dude! You're a star! I see the tides are building up now....should be a good week ahead...catch you later...pardon the pun..!
Why don't you try drifting a pike drift float like they use on resevoirs, with a whole makrel on and try for a bass that way?
Autumn vibes perhaps 🤔
