@@goodtips8973 lmfao I want one so bad I'd have so much fun terrorizing shit with him/her!!! Would you buy one again if you had to do it all over again
Yes! A two year old with wings, ADHD, OCD, scissors for hands and a can opener on their face. (Why I watch bird videos instead of actually owning one) 🙃
Never clip a birds wings very cruel and they need to build up those muscles in their chest to fly which protects their organs. Their cages get very messy, I change the paper every day and they need a deep clean every so often, food can get stuck in the small gaps of cages. They poo wherever they are and mine have play perches around the room with paper underneath to catch the poop, but that doesn't stop them pooping down your TV etc. Most caiques tend to flick their food so if you feed berries you'll get red splats allover your wall, you can hang material or a shower curtain there to protect walls, the male in this video isn't a messy eater but my female caique flicks her food everywhere, hope this helps!
What a sweet boy! What cage do you have for him? Has it held up well against the little bundle of crazy? :) Getting my Caique in September and I'm torn on what cage to get!
@@Joice_M I just got a 6week old WB caique and I love him, Their is nothing to be not sure about these birds are worth every penny and you're time and companionship.
@@Marvel_vs_Capcom84 Now we own a labrador puppy, she is abotu 7 months old. Even tho I love parrots, its not a great idea. Many things could go wrong and our dog has full acces to all the rooms in the house and can open doors.... And if i got a smaller parrot i would liek it to have time outside its cage, to fly, to play, to hop around etc. And with a puppy its rly hard and dangerous! But they seem like lovely parrots! I hope you have fun wiht oyur little caique!
Where did you get the multi coloured odd shaped ball on the top of the cage? I believe parts come off for the Caique to ply with as a foot toy. Keep posting.
When your bird hit maturity at 3 to 4 years old. Does it become more territorial, aggressive and attached to just one person? I’m planning on buying one as a family pet but all the people I meet at bird shops discourages me from buying one because of their wild nature. All my kids are teen agers already. They say they can turn on me and my family and become wilder when they hit maturity at 3 or 4 years old. Did you experience that with your Caique?
I got that one on eBay, I had to cable tie the sliding doors shut. They now have a custom made cage. If you're in the UK have a look on Scarlett's parrot essentials. If not then this cage was called a flight cage
Hi Heather. Archie seems very sweet! I am looking to adopt a Caique and was wondering, did you find him through a breeder and raise him yourself, or did you adopt him? He seems to have a wonderful personality!
hi, i bought him from a breeder when he was 18 months old. the people who previously owned him from being a baby brought him back to the breeder (a year and a half later). when i bought him he was very scared and not tame, he couldnt fly very well and had barely any toys when he came to me. now hes an excellent flyer and so loving and tame, very cuddly.

How messy is he? How much time per day to clean up after him? Does poop all over, or mostly on his landing places? Are his wings clipped?

I call these birds parrots, caique is an aviary unofficial name which suggest a different species. They's not, these are parrots.

This is not true parrots can be very bonded to a human so for that they might think you’re their mate
