    Everyone always dunks on Canva (including Dan and Rob), but I think it's a great tool! If you're 100% a beginner, it has premade thumbnails, overlays, etc that you can use. Once you've gotten used to it, then you can start changing out things in the premade templates to better fit your brand, with the goal of creating your own thumbnails from scratch.

    I LOVE Canva!! I agree with the what you said about the drop shadow. I wish there were more options… I know some Canva creators who somehow customize their own Canva asset for that (don’t ask me how). Regarding the layers, there are different ways for navigating through them. You can either use the layers view or just click on “Position” near the top to move something backwards, forwards, to the front, or to the back. It’s just preference. For someone who used Canva for only a few hours, that was a really good job-especially with the custom shadow you made! There’s definitely a lot more to Canva, but that was a good thumbnail!

    • @BCStrikeProductions
      @BCStrikeProductions ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Use shadow elements. They have a ton more styles and designs then the shadows effect

      Yah, seriously, what a GREAT thumbnail for just learning the new AI options available in Canva for the 1st time! I remember when I finally understood / felt comfortable using Canva, was def a breakthrough in making our channels thumbnails! But I certainly learned a lotta new stuff from this vid, Jon's great at teaching & explaining! Now, time to make a NEW thumbnail for a vid I finished a few weeks ago but clearly procrastinated making the thumbnail.

    A fantastic review of this new Canva AI tool. Yes if the thumbnail is rubbish or viewers don't click on it the video’s won't do well. The most viewed video's have a fantastic thumbnail.

Also, with the missing finger, what if you insert a foreground rock or log. What you did works great, these are just ideas for the future.

    2 part question 1. How would you add phone reflection to puddle and 2 how would you add motion blur to falling phone/puddle reflection? Thanks in advance and Love your work

    • @vidIQ
      @vidIQ  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1. As of right now, I'm pretty sure Magic Edit's ai can't quite do reflections that interact with other layers like photoshop can, BUT, my theory is that if you duplicate the phone, flip it vertical, drag the duplicate layer underneath the original phone layer, position where you want it to be as a reflection and lower its transparency, that MIGHT look somewhat close to a reflection.
      2. I just checked and right now Canva doesn't have motion blurring either. It lacks some useful tools but for quick quality thumbnail ideas without a whole lot of learning, it seems to be pretty efficient. That said, I wouldn't recommend it over learning photoshop provided the creator has the time to do so.
      - John

    • @DadAdventures
      @DadAdventures ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vidIQ thank you for answering. I do really like Canva. It’s really easy and fast. I appreciate your tip for the above. It all clicked for me when you duplicated and dropped the contest to make a shadow and lower transparency. I tried this and it looks great. I think motion blur is possible as you can make glowing outlines and blur the edges. Maybe can use that some how to make a motion blur trail. Thanks
