- When the UN Security Council organised an emergency session to discussion the developments surrounding the international peacekeeping force in Lebanon, Russia used to opportunity to lash out at Israel and the US. Visibly angered by the Russian criticism of Israel, the US ambassador resorted to an unusual step to respond to the Russia. Thai prompted the Russian ambassador to bluntly tell his US counterpart that he was merely highlighting the US complicity in the Middle-east.

Media Office has condemned the targeting of a school shelter by Israeli forces, saying that the majority of those killed or wounded were women and children.
