(manga spoilers. duh) the only reason sanemi’s the way he is, is because his mother got turned into a demon that killed his whole family and he had to be the one to kill her, which made the only family he had left say horrible stuff to him. bakugou’s asshat behaviour isnt based on serious trauma and doesnt have a valid reason. both of bakugou’s inferiority and god complex’ come from his childhood where he was praised too much and so he aimed to be the best while still thinking he’s lesser. sanemi’s a dick to demons (aka nezuko) bc THEY WERE THE REASON HIS GODDAMN FAMILY GOT KILLED and bakugou’s a dick to everyone bc he can be without any serious consequences. so no, sanemi isnt the “grown up mature” bakugou yall make him out to be just bc he stabby stabbed nezuko (WHO WAS A /DEMON/ IN THE HEART OF THE /DEMON SLAYER/ CORPS), his character is much more complex and interesting and meanwhile, yes, bakugou does have his development, his actions cannot be rationalized and agreed with just bc he was insecure.

@@nagumo2362 i already read it. and for in turn, theres also a spinoff written by gotouge-sensei where they drawn all of the characters and their info (it's only shown on the extra pages of the maga) one of the infos from sanemi's are 'talks alot to kanae-sensei" theres not enough evidence to prove he actually likes her but theres also not enough evidence to prove he doesn't like her.
My favorite part from Sanemi vs Kokushibou, was when Kokushibou explained how he had trained with the first wind pillar of the Demon Slayer corp and he was close to killing Sanemi because Sanemi nearly messed up his sword swing(or something). Other than that, if I had to pick a Breath Style from Demon Slayer, I pick Breath of the Wind.

I wonder if the fact Sanemi has so many other weapons in his arsenal is a throwback to how he used to kill demons before joining the demon corps. He must have relied on other tactics and had to have been crafty to tie up demons until dawn, and those alternatives to his nichirin blade certainly make him more powerful.

He literally did his job... by stabbing her she would regenerate and get hungry which is the best way to prove whether or not she really was harmless, especially since he was a marechi so it makes sense why he did it. Hell, he even apologised to her.

His sword maybe the most impressive looking among all Nichirin swords I've seen (along with Zenitsu's and Yoriichi's) and I love his fighting style as well. You can tell he's one of the most experienced fighters even among the Hashira. Dude freaking killed Lower Moon 1 with his buddy to become a Hashira.
For me, and for the kimetsu no yaiba, sanemi is the best and my favorite it's because he's goddamn smart! And goddamn goo on fighting! Unlike other characters, he is the only one who knows how the hell to survive! I can't accept if he is underrated!
IKR, he's my fave! Unfortunately we never got another popularity poll so it's really hard to tell how popular he currently is, but while the Anime community currently really hates and despises him (and will even more with the Hashira Training Arc before his actual personality and feelings are revealed later on *cough*), I'm pretty sure the majority of the manga fandom does love or at least like him, which makes me really happy cause he's definitely my favourite character in the series and SO misunderstood and complex, not to mention INCREDIBLY skilled! But unfortunately there are and will always still be people who will always hate him for his past actions, even if his true intentions were good and all the development he had afterwards... :/

The ranking at the end of the series ( including ds marks and overall power) 1-Gyomei 2-Sanemi 3-Obanai 4-Muichiro 5-Giyu 6-Rengoku 7-Mitsuri 8-Tengen 9-Shinob This ranking is on the basis of the details given in various chapters of the manga, various fights and also on the basis of what the demons which the slayers fought had said about them( like what koku had to say for gyomei and sanemi and mui, from the fight we witnessed between mui and upper 5 , fight between uzui and upper 6, obanai Vs muzan etc) Some may say that why is giyu ranked 6th and why obanai is ranked 3rd..well giyu was not able to corner akaza for once even with a slayer mark..tanjiro's role was massive in defeating akaza ( though akaza committed suicide) whereas obanai all alone managed to keep up with the demon god even without a slayer mark... Now some may say that "giyu managed to survive but the snake guy died and bleh bleh" It's about overall strength and skills and not about survival...if survival was the only aspect to be looked upon then our Murata San should be the strongest of all....but that's not the case... Rengoku on the other hand was a really strong individual..but was not even able to attain his slayer mark so I guess the debate's already over.. Mui all alone fkn defeated upper 5 so yea he's stronger than rengoku and giyu both (ik that giyutards and rengokutards still won't agree)
Nah the second strongest is rengoku with out a doubt the second strongest. He is the fastest demon slayer with a fantastic fighting spirit. Also he won the fight against akaza while fulfilling his duty’s to protect the young ones from akaza, even with a whole hand through his body, he still cut halfway through akazas neck. Also griping onto his hand so he couldn’t move. He held him there for so long that the sun almost came up and akaza almost died. But akaza sacrificed his own arm so he could run away. Which means Rengoku won and fulfilled his duties. Also he was given much praise from akaza and had even gotten an offer to become a demon cause of his incredible strength/speed/fighting spirit. But he chose not to. Also he did all that without a demon slayer mark which is insanely impressive. If he had gotten a demon slayer mark he would easily be the 2nd strongest pillar, after gyomei. We only had a glimpse of what he was capable of as well. If he stayed alive he would have incredible potential to be the best hashira

Rengoku should be higher. I'm a rengoku fanboy but he was fatigued when he fought akaza. Akaza asked him if he want's to become a demon cuz he saw Potential in rengoku. Not to forget akaza was struggling against rengoku. However when he fought tanjirou and giyuu he was having fun with them and he didn't ask giyuu or tanjirou to become a demon cuz he didn't saw potential in them.

Sanemi took 35% of that Upper Moon 1 fight on the face, frontlines it mostly tanking a lotta hits. Runs up on Muzan, frontlines it again and only loses two fingers on his right hand. He’s still technically a pillar even though there’s no need for it.
Him and gyomei carried and held um1 long enough for mui and genya to make a plan, the narrative even explains and proves that sanemi and gyomei are clearly the two strongest, also why wouldnt the 2 strongest train together individually and with nobody else
Sanemi is a true warrior. Brave, never look back type of man. the fight vs kokushibo and muzan proved it.. He was so brave, so skillful and manage to live after the battle vs Kokushibo and later on vs Muzan.. what a warrior
Probably his best moment was when he was fighting Koku and gets his chest/stomach slashed open then Koku moves on assuming that he is finished and his "entrails will spill out" then Sanemi proceeds to laugh and uses a wind breathing technique and explains his marechi blood to Koku
The fact that ubayashiki said he tried swinging a sword and wanted to protect people with his own hands because he wanted a peaceful world, he coudn't.. that's heartbreaking
Everyone who hated him because of his first interaction with Nezuko and Tanjiro will get a big slap towards the end. I myself got slapped because I didn't like him at the beginning but he definitely became a favourite. Gun boi FTW

Great video as always and keep up the good work , Sanemi is perhaps the most tragic character in the series ,abused by his father ,forced to kill his mother who he loved dearly ,lost his only friend and recently ,his little brother and last remaining family ,at least Tanjirou still has Nezuko :-(

I know. His story is the most tragic out of all the pillars. I'm not sure he will want to live after poor Genya died. But I'm hoping he does live at the end of the manga.

He literally did his job... by stabbing her she would regenerate and get hungry which is the best way to prove whether or not she really was harmless, especially since he was a marechi so it makes sense why he did it. Hell, he even apologised to her.

His sword maybe the most impressive looking among all Nichirin swords I've seen (along with Zenitsu's and Yoriichi's) and I love his fighting style as well. You can tell he's one of the most experienced fighters even among the Hashira. Dude freaking killed Lower Moon 1 with his buddy to become a Hashira.
For me, and for the kimetsu no yaiba, sanemi is the best and my favorite it's because he's goddamn smart! And goddamn goo on fighting! Unlike other characters, he is the only one who knows how the hell to survive! I can't accept if he is underrated!

Unfortunately we never got another popularity poll so it's really hard to tell how popular he currently is, but while the Anime community currently really hates and despises him (and will even more with the Hashira Training Arc before his actual personality and feelings are revealed later on *cough*), I'm pretty sure the majority of the manga fandom does love or at least like him, which makes me really happy cause he's definitely my favourite character in the series and SO misunderstood and complex, not to mention INCREDIBLY skilled!
But unfortunately there are and will always still be people who will always hate him for his past actions, even if his true intentions were good and all the development he had afterwards... :/

This ranking is on the basis of the details given in various chapters of the manga, various fights and also on the basis of what the demons which the slayers fought had said about them( like what koku had to say for gyomei and sanemi and mui, from the fight we witnessed between mui and upper 5 , fight between uzui and upper 6, obanai Vs muzan etc)
Some may say that why is giyu ranked 6th and why obanai is ranked 3rd..well giyu was not able to corner akaza for once even with a slayer mark..tanjiro's role was massive in defeating akaza ( though akaza committed suicide) whereas obanai all alone managed to keep up with the demon god even without a slayer mark...
Now some may say that "giyu managed to survive but the snake guy died and bleh bleh"
It's about overall strength and skills and not about survival...if survival was the only aspect to be looked upon then our Murata San should be the strongest of all....but that's not the case...
Rengoku on the other hand was a really strong individual..but was not even able to attain his slayer mark so I guess the debate's already over..
Mui all alone fkn defeated upper 5 so yea he's stronger than rengoku and giyu both (ik that giyutards and rengokutards still won't agree)

Second strongest pillar sanemi with muichiro falling behind.
Nah the second strongest is rengoku with out a doubt the second strongest. He is the fastest demon slayer with a fantastic fighting spirit. Also he won the fight against akaza while fulfilling his duty’s to protect the young ones from akaza, even with a whole hand through his body, he still cut halfway through akazas neck. Also griping onto his hand so he couldn’t move. He held him there for so long that the sun almost came up and akaza almost died. But akaza sacrificed his own arm so he could run away. Which means Rengoku won and fulfilled his duties. Also he was given much praise from akaza and had even gotten an offer to become a demon cause of his incredible strength/speed/fighting spirit. But he chose not to. Also he did all that without a demon slayer mark which is insanely impressive. If he had gotten a demon slayer mark he would easily be the 2nd strongest pillar, after gyomei. We only had a glimpse of what he was capable of as well. If he stayed alive he would have incredible potential to be the best hashira

Rengoku should be higher. I'm a rengoku fanboy but he was fatigued when he fought akaza. Akaza asked him if he want's to become a demon cuz he saw Potential in rengoku. Not to forget akaza was struggling against rengoku. However when he fought tanjirou and giyuu he was having fun with them and he didn't ask giyuu or tanjirou to become a demon cuz he didn't saw potential in them.

I see people hating Sanemi for what he did to Nezuko but that’s his job is it not? To kill Demons and Nezuko is a Demon so… he was basically doing his job. I really love sanemi my 2nd fav pillar he has 2 different egos and just wants to protect his brother 🥺
Sanemi took 35% of that Upper Moon 1 fight on the face, frontlines it mostly tanking a lotta hits. Runs up on Muzan, frontlines it again and only loses two fingers on his right hand. He’s still technically a pillar even though there’s no need for it.
Him and gyomei carried and held um1 long enough for mui and genya to make a plan, the narrative even explains and proves that sanemi and gyomei are clearly the two strongest, also why wouldnt the 2 strongest train together individually and with nobody else
Sanemi is a true warrior. Brave, never look back type of man. the fight vs kokushibo and muzan proved it.. He was so brave, so skillful and manage to live after the battle vs Kokushibo and later on vs Muzan.. what a warrior
Probably his best moment was when he was fighting Koku and gets his chest/stomach slashed open then Koku moves on assuming that he is finished and his "entrails will spill out" then Sanemi proceeds to laugh and uses a wind breathing technique and explains his marechi blood to Koku
The fact that ubayashiki said he tried swinging a sword and wanted to protect people with his own hands because he wanted a peaceful world, he coudn't.. that's heartbreaking
Everyone who hated him because of his first interaction with Nezuko and Tanjiro will get a big slap towards the end. I myself got slapped because I didn't like him at the beginning but he definitely became a favourite. Gun boi FTW
