The funny thing to note is that Sam was comically weaker than Jack but his skills, experience and especially the blade allowed him to almost defeat Armstrong, but because Sam was essentially just a dude in an exosuit with a mastercrafted HF blade so he couldn't last long against Armstrong. Jack had none of Sam's weakness so the he acquired his sword, he could not only damage through Armstrong's nanomachines (you can see the slashes on his arms and chest), but also forced him to recharge midfight in final phase

Adam has the blade that propules itself using the recoil of the bullet itself (like the gas from the used bullet) to draw the blade, while sam,s uses the blanks todirectly propule the blade. Diffrence is (probably) that while sam,s would be faster and more powerfull draw, adam,s more vesatile
