Rassie made the comment that Manie shouldn’t have been put in the situation where he needed to take a kick at goals to win the match, by which he meant that Manie should have started the game, with Pollard in reserve for when it becomes about game management, percentages, and crucial kicks. I think the reason that Pollard started the game was because Rassie was getting experience into new players and combinations, and the Boks were a little short of experienced leaders on the pitch until Eben came on.
Fact of the matter is that Manie is not very good in situations where all attention is on him and he has time to think, but he is excellent when everything comes down to instinct. His two contestable kicks were pinpoint accurate and his passing was better than Pollard’s. Plus he is quick, he can step, and the Tonyball attack looks much more threatening when he is on the field.
Unlikely, but by no means impossible, that the Pumas could back up last weeks win on South African soil - but it’s great to see them up there challenging the Boks in an era of very poor (and dull) NZ and AUS Rugby
Go Argentina 🇦🇷
Hendrikse is there as a goal kicking option, and yes, Williams is injured.
Remember the name Steyn no 9 from the Lions,he is the next great SA scrum half
Similar to the game against France in the world cup. Just Willie at full back
Lol. Love the thumbnail. 😂
The best half backs we have in SA
If we lose, I am getting my British passport once and for all..
£1650 on the line, lets go Bokke!
Kitshoff is actually injured again after that WP Currie Cup game.
Didn’t know that. Cheers.
All Blacks team for Saturday is very much steeped in sentimentality. I feel like D'Mac will move back to the 10 jersey in the EOYT, but they just want Beauden to refresh himself skills wise for the 10 position for now. Would be a little harsh to throw him straight in with no prior game time this year if McKenzie gets injured.
Barrett the older is well beyond being able to put in more than 30 mins as an impact sub. Can’t believe he keeps getting starts !!!
Also Ioane - perhaps the least convincing centre ever to play for the AB’s - is an ongoing selection mystery.
Looks like a REALLY TIRED Kiwi side to me - and it would be great if Aus can find a way to take advantage of it.
Chances are, that they won’t, sadly.
Gonna be a wipe out
