When those Pipes & Drums started yesterday what came next was most probably the most beautifully moving thing I have ever seen or heard in my lifetime.
Quelle mélodie prenante ! Et comme elle exprimait bien lors des funérailles de votre reine bien-aimée l'émotion profonde de vos peuples ! (un ami breton)
’d never heard it before, but, the very… sombre melody along with the rhythmic beat of the drums, the gentle speed, and how the music seemed to be part of the performance or Marching, Marching with great honour. I can think of a hundred songs that could have been sung at that point, but not one would have been right, or more fitting than this piece played so well and professionally. It took me on a journey, and framed my mind that Her Late Majesty was making a journey, not just to the Abbey, but also a journey of her soul. How one piece of music can give you so many levels of meaning, feeling and of thought… Music is one of the greatest things on earth that we take for granted. We watched as they played, we felt as they played and we mourned as they played. We also have thanks, thanks to her, for her life of service, but thanks to God, for granting us the blessing that was HM Queen Elizabeth. ❤
Such powerful, moving scenes seeing and hearing the Queen’s funeral procession open with this haunting, driving piece of music as the Royal Navy ratings moved her from Westminster Hall, charged to the beat of those rolling drums. …and played exactly as it was 20 years before at the beginning of her mothers funeral.
Truly beautiful, both the performance and the scenery. Just goes to show that so often the best moments come when we don't plan them but simply allow them to occur.
I’m so glad you stopped here on your drive home; the scenery is absolutely breath-taking and the tune is a perfect fit! We do need to take time to pause in life, especially now in today’s circumstances. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for playing this tune, reminds me of my visit to the Highlands of Scotland last summer, how about playing "The Crags of Tumbledown" there's no better way to play this tune at Mount Tumbledown in the Falkland Islands where the Scots Guards fought there in 1982 and won.
I'm sure this is the tune played by a lone piper at Kandahar as our servicemen were carried onto aircraft to make their final journey home. It still makes me well up.
Thank you for sharing another fantastic tune and inspiring us to not move through life so fast, as it is so easy to do so, but stop, live and enjoy where we are. This inspiration certainly needed by me today!
Hello, absolutely LOVE this video! I have a question, we have song on an upcoming album that features the bagpipes. (because lets face it, there are not nearly enough bagpipes in modern popular music) :D Would it be possible to get permission to use a couple of clips from this for our lyric video? (maybe 30-60 seconds total) I would be happy to provide a link to the song so you could pre-approve? Thank you for considering! (and no worries either way, this is just some insanely cool footage!)
Awesome thank you so much! I will send you a free album when it's released and a copy of the video which I will credit you in! (And if you'd like a free t-shirt, I can make that happen as well!)
I always thought this was music composed by Mark Knopfler. Now, I know otherwise after watching The Queen’s coffin as it was carried by gun carriage to the abbey
No disrespect to him but the "Americans" wanted shot of the Crown and anything to do with the fucking island they originate from. Should never carry the colours of our nation in their flag.

@@Matthew-nk6uy Yep. The drums added so much also. Very moving
I've read the words that go with this song. No wonder Her Late Majesty wanted this played at her funeral.
@@kayehemming4644 yep. That first bit was the most emotional for me 😥

What was the second tune from the procession?
Sleep Dearie Sleep, I think
Was this also played at the late Queen mothers funeral ?
What is getting played here? Is it an edited version?
Me….1 year later
This tune was played at President Kennedy's funeral.
No disrespect to him but the "Americans" wanted shot of the Crown and anything to do with the fucking island they originate from. Should never carry the colours of our nation in their flag.
I tried playing snare on your score. You missed few lines while repeating the first part. -
Or you did not repeat at all am not sure..
Not tryna be picky but you left out half the tune.

Usually, it is "Flowers of the Forest" which is the lament in the British Army.
Yep, Op Pabbay outside TLS.. been there, done that
