Hello Michelle, I stumbled onto your video while I was looking for a way to create a mesh tool design with a fold using a cloth pattern just like the 4th one with red one you have i intro @ 1:24, it was in an article in the digital newsletter MacRumors, the article had a design with a folded cloth with the Apple logo it was written on Friday June 14, 2024 5:07. it was titled “ Japan passes law to allow third-party app storage on the iPhone”. I'm not sure if it was created entirely in Adobe illustrator or in conjunction with another app like Blender. Thanks
Hi, Sarah. Make a copy of the shape you want it to overlay and then paste the shape directly on top of the existing shape. (I usually do Paste in front-CTRL or CMND-F).
As long as you have the file, it technically is saved forever. But I think you probably mean saving it so you can access it no matter what file you have open. The best way to make it readily accessible whenever you need the pattern is to save it into you CC libraries.

Hi, thanks for watching and commenting! It could be a couple of things. The first is to make sure you're not dragging the guides with your mesh. You can't add a ruler guide to a pattern swatch, so if those blue lines are moving when you drag to the Swatches panel, it's not going to go in. You'll need to lock them first. Right mouse click and choose" Lock Guides". The other issue could be that you just aren't seeing your patterns in the Swatches panel. It could be set to only seeing solid colors. There are icons at the bottom of the Swatches panel and one of them is labelled "Show Swatch Kinds". Make sure the option to "Show all swatches" is selected. Hopefully, one of those will take care of the problem you're having:)

Hello. I have the gray mesh swatch completed and saved in my library. But how do I overlay it onto a solid color?
