Have you guys considered fitting paddles to the floaties? Bit like the sand rail/dune buggies they have in the states. Then you won't need an outboard...
The idea for wheel airbags on Swampy is great but you need more buoyancy on the front end. I'm no expert in floatation but the front needs some sort of floatation device that is about as long and wide as the treebar or bull bar to keep the weight even. Remember that the front has the engine, bullbar, treebar, front winch and front drive train. Other than that, great design fellas. Your level of physics is beyond reproach 😂
Now if you made the air bags tougher, not sure how tough now, but add some sort of paddle, ridge, perpendicular to tire, could they also be used in soft sand and mud for extra surface area?
they look like tyre devices they advertized in the very early 90's to help people get through mud and ruts with standard tyres! i cant remember the name of them but they attached in the same area and looked very similar only they were solid not inflatable
Needs fin like propellers/paddles on the end of each of them yellow things so u can go faster through the water and can still drive on land without anything getting in the way
matthew lister I’m not going to watch it again, pretty sure he said stock as a rock 1996 hilux so it’s most likely a 2.8L aspirated Diesel. ‘Always late in the two point eight’ is the saying but they’re tough as nails and reliable as anything.
These guys deserve Australians of the year 👍🏻🇦🇺

Wow! They just invented a float kit for 4wd.
Love how jase doesn’t tell Simon what’s going on till the last minute and Simon is up for it every time
Pop a bag out in the water and that would be a bit scary. Redundacy system woudnt go astray.
If that outboard rack was setup on a parallelogram, it could be used to lower the outboard into the water when crossing rivers.

Top Gear failed twice at this 😂😂😂
An upgrade series for Swampy is a must
I see you've played swampy, floaty before!
Now if you made the air bags tougher, not sure how tough now, but add some sort of paddle, ridge, perpendicular to tire, could they also be used in soft sand and mud for extra surface area?
Little bit bigger bags with hard plastic fins around would make it pattle steer better
Keep the tyre bags and add the side bags for a back up plan. Awesome adventure rig though.
Try it in the creek I live on. Dozens of 4m crocs waiting to nibble on those floats
Cool ass truck mate! I'd love to spend several months in the outback just off-roading and exploring.
Awesome Jase, love both all4 and unleashed. Hope you have massive success in the USA given you were at SEMA last year.
Stock motor gearbox and diff ratios? Yeah right we ran 35s and it screwed up top end power speed and handling 46s would be hell on stock ratios
I guess he ran with 4L all the time
What a rig!!
Crazy nice stuff... Just add some kind of propeller to the transmission bar for extra propulsion on the water..
What is a transmission bar? Haha.
@@tshepp89 I guess what he mean is propeller shaft
Air locker in front would help to paddle you and steer stay balanced to
Should've added paddles to the rims somehow lol. Those Hilux are tough stuff.
1 major flaw... you can’t take t through drive thru
just Deflate the Tires,..
Walk in
Holy you guys are awesome, great video. Makes me want to move to Australia with rest of my family

You mean Bog Cogs, right?
that's awesome.. I have a 93 model with 35in tyres that i take out on weekends for a play..
Love your work wavs boys and your tv shows thanks
Needs fin like propellers/paddles on the end of each of them yellow things so u can go faster through the water and can still drive on land without anything getting in the way
Does it touch the river floor when it crosses the river?
I want that shed use work on your trucks in lol that's massive, awesome stuff
Geterdone! Enjoyed this Fla! Thanks
Do they normal run down trees and make a track where ever they want ?
Next step is you start the canoa motor you can see in 3:35
Go the old hilux you guy's have great tast in 4x4's haha awesome stuff.
Where can I buy floaties like that?
Where did you get the airbags? Thx
What do you make for living guys? I like your adventures, greetings from Europe, I dream to come to Australia for such adventures
That is unreal. Bullet proof those trucks are. Nice work!
gurey00 it's not a truck
gurey00 not the stock axels with over 35s
Jurgen Taylor so true Hilux Axel's a pain
Love the swamplux
Wow totally subscribed, keep up with the good content
It seems to be the sexiest vehicle ever made
What type of boat is that?
Put fins on the airbags to act as a system of propulsion
Yes it's good and all but can it drive upside down
Air bag suspension too it'll make it a bit lighter
Now just make it fly and you have concurred all 3 modes of transportation
The floaties would have been a tremendous help to -Mythbusters- Top Gear back in the day when they were trying to destroy theirs.
Deryk Robosson . you mean top gear
Those airbags would be a riot with a mean croc!
Bad ass! Sick they sell yotas that new already solid axle in Australia
This is just amazing guys I just want to do it now
crazy and reliable...awesome
Where can I get those bous made
One bite from a Croc.... Belly up!
I love this truck
Sick idea mates
3:44 What are you taking about that legit the cleanest off-road hilux I’ve seen most the hilux here looks like old bear cans
Love this rig
Is it road redgestered
Q&A what happenes when a croc eats 1 side half way across hahaha
you can get those baja claws in 54 inch
Geez, depending on the weight ontop of those 54s you may as well buy as russian sherp
RIP transmission
Pretty damn clever 👌
This put my troopy to shame
ten points! love it
Where were the salties?
clever idea
What motor is in the hilux?
matthew lister I’m not going to watch it again, pretty sure he said stock as a rock 1996 hilux so it’s most likely a 2.8L aspirated Diesel. ‘Always late in the two point eight’ is the saying but they’re tough as nails and reliable as anything.
Should put some sand paddles on it then go through some water.
You’ll need to change wheel bearings daily 👍
How does ts propel itself through the water? Just the wheels or do you need the dingy next to it?
Life goals!
Hayden M 4:10 lil boat motor
At 2:43, you see an outboard motor attached at the back, with a coxswain at the bar.
That's why they invented planes, helicopters, and hovercraft... in case you forgot.
All your missing is the stutututu sound
Rollux if you take it on road
You look like Destin from Smarter Everyday.
What donk is in there would need some good torque
dj red hare aus just the right gear ratios
Ilove swampy.
ยูทู
สองคนแฮปปี้.นัมเบอร์วัน.ในการทำงาน
nothing better than a dirty white hilux
And you won't break anything cause the hilux couldn't pull the skin of a rice pudding .
Alex Frankl not true. Had a standard 2.8 diesel. Towed a tri axle trailer with a tractor and rammer without a problem.
Small engine but the gearing makes up for it, very capable machines hiluxes are, light but robust.
woww that’s awesome
LOL Awesome, you guys remind me of some dudes from Florida. LOL.
Wanderluster do you mean roadkill
Awesome
Machine.....!
Genius
Looks like most 4x4’s in Oregon haha
Top Gear failed twice at this because they never did it in crock infested waters
SWAMPY!!!
badass of aussies!
Hopefully they out diff breathers on it lol
I want swampy
Im in love
Calculations...
Mad asf bruz
มันเยี่ยมมาก.วอร์รี่กูดด์.55555
you need paddles on those bags
I only have a Toyota hilux 🤙
Badass
"UNLEASHED: Is this Australia's Toughest Hilux?"
Not even close.
joe blow pics or it’s not true.
S. White
Put "Toughest Hilux" in google and look for yourself.
Really it's all opinion don't you think?
Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!
Good teem
that's sweet
One thumbs down 🤨why this is great
