  • Last week, we introduced the incredible testimony of Corrie Ten Boom, a Christian woman who survived unimaginable atrocities during the Holocaust.
In her concentration camp, her barracks were overcome by fleas. Because of the fleas, the guards stayed out of these barracks, allowing for the opportunity for Corrie to share the gospel freely with her fellow prisoners. What was initially a curse soon turned into a blessing.
Corrie shared, "The blacker the night around us grew, the brighter, and truer, and more beautiful burned the word of God." Even if the conditions around us look grim, trust that the Lord will use those situations to shine His light in the darkest moments.

Thank you ICC for these beautiful lessons from Corrie's life. I could feel the Holy Spirit when you were speaking Jeff. I think the entire Body of Christ needs to see your videos. God bless you!

Thank you so much for sharing this testimony of Corrie's and Betsy's. I have just seen The Hiding Place film (Billy Graham Films) for the first time. I first saw the second film several months ago, possibly even last year but at this time I find myself going through a trial in my health and the Lord is using this trial and what you just said to teach me to accept this trial for now for His glory and He is doing something in me through it. I must trust Him for He is utterly trustworthy, more so than anyone or anything. 🙏

You didn't say that she wore a small bible around her neck in the camp. As she was stood naked in front of the guard who was checking the women through. She told the Lord it was his job to hide the bible she was carrying and HE DID. The guard didn't see it. Her sister Betsie also told her to give thanks for the fleas because the guards wouldn't come in! She was stunned by this and thought God protected Betsie.
I have read several of her books, it's good to watch her being interviewed as well.

    - can't imagine how many crowns she have in Heaven. As apostle Paul said, "to live in Christ, to die is gain."

I remember a story about Corrie Ten Boom. She was somewhere in a religious service somewhere when a former guard came to the meeting. He approached Corrie to shake her hand and she silently cried out to Jesus. In herself she could not shake his hand, but by asking Jesus to give her the strength to shake his hand she was able to do so. I have always loved this story about her.

It isn’t an incredible book and Corrie was surrounded by amazing examples, namely her father and sister. It is good to bare in mind that these beloved brothers and sisters God used were not perfect. Corrie was honest in her book about dry spiritual timesheet, and times in the camp she struggle greatly in her relationship with God. But His grace was sufficient, and where she failed in her faith, her sister picked her up, even to her death. Please listen to Darlene Deibler Rose’s testimony who was very similar but she was in Japanese concentration camps.

Sorry it IS an incredible book! God used it to reinforce in my life that He doesn’t promise us a life without suffering, but He promises to be with us in it.

Corrie was brave enough to admit picking up a shovel to kill a guard who was mocking Betsy. I so admire her honesty and courage. We all struggle, and it seems that life is getting harder for everyone as time goes on. Thank you, Sarah B, for your encouraging word. I'll listen to Darlene's testimony soon. Be blessed
