No joke, I'd drop everything to take over for the owner. They'd have to show me the ropes and finance it but they'd have no regrets... What a dream business/vessel/life. My feet would hardly ever touch the ground again... Thanks for sharing!👍
I have a preference for the "older 20th century yachts. Loved that the crew was included to "demonstrate" the toys. :) Okay, okay, if I win the lottery, this one is on my list, too.
This yacht is still for sale. I don't know if you hit that lottery yet, but for some reason this boat is still for sale and has had issues being sold. 4 years ago Northrop and Johnson (Yachts for Sale) had it for sale. I don't know why it isn't sold as this boat is a hot ticket for charter. This boat is consistently on charter, so maybe that has something to do with it, or it's been used and used so much it needs some upgrades, but quite literally this is an almost perfect yacht. I don't get it. 4 Roses is also still for sale. So many great choices.....if you hit that lottery.
@@grondhero When I was at FLIBS, I was there as Denison's guest and I got the back story of this yacht. It is not used and abused. It is a charter machine. In fact I heard about the charter revenue this boat pulls in and it runs into the red every year. It does need some upgrades but its very well maintained and well looked after. I know why it hasn't sold and I am not allowed to say why (nothing nefarious or bad) but if you were looking to buy a boat and make a little bit of money on it, I would recommend this one. I couldn't do it because I would want to use it all the time, but this boat enjoys a very long and very profitable charter stream. If you know about how charters work, and I'm sure you do, you can infer from there why this hasn't sold.
You won't really get that windlass ever fixed until you replace it. The chain gets rusted. The windlass and the bollards, capstands..they get pretty chewed up on regular charters. This boat is not neglected. In the carribean charter world, she's pretty infamous. The crew is well paid, well tipped and they work for it. This boat frequently is only down 24 hours between charters durng peak season. It's unheard of usually. This is one of the few boats that makes money doing charters. But that's a good catch. Most people don't catch those things. I was surprised it was selling, but the owners don't want to run the business anymore after the purser quit.
What a lovely boat - not showy at all but has some clever design features (the boat deck; circular 'conversation' area; guest room lobby) that really make her, dare I say it, family-friendly. She's a very welcoming boat - I can easily imagine (dream? fantasize?) spending a week or two onboard and having the time of my life with my family! What fun it would be to go down that slide! Amazing bridge too! Thanx for showing us around.
Glad to see that all usuals are here. The COCKpit guy, the lottery guy, the smart one, who can calculate the range, and let's don't forget 'I don't like the monotonous voice' guy! I'm a bit concerned why 'I'm first' guy didn't show up. Hope he/she is fine. And then there's me of course, who can't help to comment on the comments. Anyway, big fan of the channel. Another well made presentation. This is a very nice, comfortable boat. It looks like in top condition as well, well kept despite the age. It feels very spacious, and well laid out. It has plenty of toys for everyone, so adding up all the positives, the charter success makes sense. I love these old-ish boats, with nice, large crew areas, which seem to get smaller and smaller in newer yachts imo. Storage space is impressive, with lots of fridges. Another bonus, especially for charter. Stay safe during these testing times!
Linda embarcação. Seu combustivel pode se tornar hibrido. Diesel+eletrico. Isto seria o ideal p menos poluir e baratear a manutenção em deslocamento do iate. Pensem nisso com carinho.
The ROI should be pretty good, less than 10 years if the world economy holds. I wonder why the owners decided to sell? Could it be they saw the writing on the wall and decided to get their money liquid as quickly as possible before it all fell apart? Lovely boat anyway.
Just out of curiosity what’s the operating costs of a boat like this? And what would yacht financing look like? If it’s making about $1m a year. And operating costs are lower then $1m isn’t that like having a free yacht?
Great question Yaro. The general rule of thumb is that roughly 20% of the purchase price is what you will pay in annual operating costs. And we do offer financing on all our purchases. More info here: www.denisonyachtsales.com/yacht-financing/
From everything I have read. If the yacht is over 10 years old you should figure 15% of the purchase price per year as standard operating costs (fuel, crew, insurance, maintenance, etc.) So in this case, 1 mil a year doesn't quite cut it. I have been back over this video numerous times and was almost ready to pull the trigger on this boat, till I noticed there is no day head on the sun deck. At my age, I have no desire to finally buy my yacht, and then sit around and wait for months while it goes in for a refit.
19,400 gallon fuel tank going through 80 gph is 242.5 hours and at 10kt speed (11.5078 miles per hour) that's a range of 2,790.64 miles or 4491 kilometers. At max speed of 15 knots with a fuel burn of 220 gph range drops to about 1,012 miles.

I agree with prefering that era, or even earlier. When the lottery wins me I'll have a big problem choosing which yacht to buy.

At 7:14 the rust on the wynlass(?) should have been taken care of during refit, makes me wonder what else has been glossed over...🤔

A beautiful yacht
This is so cool
Stunning
This yacht is amazing for 1990. At 7.5 million what a bargain.
She is amazing and defiantly a bargain.
An impressive use of the space. It seems as though I'm looking at a much larger yacht than a 144 foot.

Let pershing 140 video come

I'm confused. How is it impressive that charter revenue is only $1M/year if it goes for $125k/week. Is 8-10 weeks out of 52 actually considered a lot?
