Not really. The acting industry is known for being a lot about who you know. No doubt that one helped the other in getting those roles, even if it's just a recommendation for audition. Of course they're both great actors so it's well deserved, but you see actors working in the same shows/movies quite often.
Will Smith and Margot Robbie is a more recent example. Martin Scorsese also ropes in Leonardo DiCaprio for a lot of his best films for a similar reason - great actor who he has a good relationship with. Relationships go along way in Hollywood.
Skywalker I remembered her from the vampire diaries. I think that's the only thing I've seen her in so I was pretty surprised when i noticed she's in TWD.

For those wondering, her accent is called mid Atlantic. She has an American father and a Scottish Mother. She was born in the US and moved to Surrey when she was 13. I believe she still lives in England but I could be wrong there. A mid Atlantic accent happens when someone is born usually in the US and moves to the UK and the accent becomes mixed.

The thing is, is that it's not entirely up to just the comics people, look at carol. She dies early after pretty much turning COO-COO, but the guys in the show, loved her from day one and wanted her to stay and hell look at her now she runs the show sometimes.

I was born in London and moved to America when I was a child,my mum is English-American my dad is Cuban so my accent is a mix of all of them. A lot of the actors on "The Walking Dead" seem to have an accent of some sort.

Game of Thrones is way less safe. The writers of that show only sort of follow the books. A good amount of characters still alive in the books are dead on the show, just because the writers thought it necessary.

I had a friend who was born in Wales and lived there until the age of eight at which time he moved to the American south. Ten years later when I met him, he'd developed one of the most unique accents most people had ever heard. It's really hard to explain exactly how it sounded but, it was Welsh with a southern twang.

The whole last half of season 3 was so amazing because Chuck and Sarah were finally together against Shaw who is my favorite villain in the series by far but I still liked the Volkoffs a lot too. You do have to give the last couple episodes of 5 credit though just because it showed how much I was invested in the characters by the end of the show's run. So heart-wrenching!

Yeah, Shaw was a badass. He definitely made the show a lot more enjoyable. I also love the endings of each episode. Like, the last minute or two, when they would be playing slow, dramatic music and then they'd show an awesome, cliffhanger of an ending. Those were always the best.
