Waiting for the card too (behind half million people or something, even though I applied on the first day, not an affiliate here LOL). It's a shame TradeRepublic has the 50k limit. Compare the rates you get to exchange currency with Wise and Xoom. I prefer to use Wise's debit card.

Hi, just wanted to say that I appreciate your content a lot. Its nice to hear from a fellow EU citizen about finances, especially when it comes to etf investments. Have a nice evening, love from Poland 😊
Honestly I would not have absolutely any issue if you were to receive money from sponsors, if you were explicit about it. Advertisements are there on youtube, it is not a big issue and you are leaving on the ground a lot of money. You make very good content, you deserve to be paid for it.
I really appreciate that, but I'm very happy with how things are right now and where my wife and I are financially. In my opinion, not everything in life needs to be maximized to make as much money as possible all the time. I'm already grateful for the number of people watching my videos that then go out of their way to use my links, fully aware of the fact that they can support me that way. That's more than enough for me and I have no intention of changing that.
@@AngeloColomboFi Of course! I just wanted to let you know that most people in your community would not feel betrayed if you were trying to get paid fairly for your job. But of course if _you_ do not feel right about it, it is perfectly understandable!
@@AngeloColomboFiI accept and appreciate your approach. But I don't see how accepting a sponsorship is much different than affiliate commission. Unless you mean that sponsored content don't mention any negatives at all usually.
Here's my issue with most channels doing sponsorships: 1. What usually ends up happening is that people promote whatever company pays them the most for the spot (eg. some scammy VPN company nobody needs), while they would never actually recommend that same service to close friends or family. Meanwhile, most companies offering a much better product/service don't do sponsorships in the first place. 2. Another thing that starts happening is that you suddenly need to meet a specific deadline, perhaps pushing out a video that could have been a lot more useful if you had given yourself the time it needed and you can only highlight the positives of whatever you're promoting, as you're not getting paid otherwise. And in most cases you need to send your video/clip to the company beforehand for approval, so you sort of lose your independence as well. Either way, I really appreciate the two of you telling me that, so thank you. But I prefer keeping as much freedom & independence as possible when it comes to making videos (otherwise it quickly stops being fun for me) and I'm very happy with how things are right now, there's no need to change that.
Thanks for the great content Angelo! I was wondering: what arrangement do you have with your wife regarding your joint investments? Do you have a fixed distribution key or do you not really keep track of your individual ownership share? I hope this question isn't too private. I'm just wondering because I would also like to set up a solid system together with my partner.
Thank you Jeroen, there was really no need to send me a tip! I would have happily replied to you without that as well :) Since we're taxed individually in Austria (no tax benefit being married), we each have our own brokerage accounts where we invest our monthly savings. We simply count everything together (we consider all of it shared among the 2 of us + our daughter) and also make investment decisions based on our asset allocation as a family. There is no formal/legal arrangement (apart from being married).
Great review, thank you Angelo! Compared to other cards in traditional European banks it is definitely worth considering especially with those specifications.
Hi Angelo, amazing content :) I deposited 40k in TR between Feb and now. All good so far, but I am reading awful stories online about people not being returned their funds, or sometimes even credited, and the complete lack of customer care making it even worse. It is quite worrying, I was wondering what is the experience of other users here.
I am one of those. I cannot move my money to my other bank account. I contacted the customer support but it doesn't exist. They will let you only talk with bots pretending to be human beings. The only way out (I hope) it's to close my account.
@@gm-123-0 sorry to hear, I hope it works out! Indeed, I read about people struggling to get any support, which is unacceptable on delicate issues like this one.
Great video as always. A bit of a negative surprise after opening a TR account are the deposit fee of 0,7% and the deposit limit of €5000 at a time. (1st deposit being free of charge). It would have been nice if you mentioned that because this is usually free of charge.
Hi Angelo! I think the simplicity and the benefits that Trade Republic brings will make a lot of people move ther money from traditional banks. Great video as always! Cheers
I am also using the TR Card for a couple of months now. Never had issues with. On the other hand my Revolut Card got declined by a few machines (e.g. at a drinks machine in Vienna). At the end, I also can fully recommend the TR card
Hi Angelo. Thanks for the great content. Do all cards have expiration dates? Meaning if I pay for the mirrorless when it expires I will have to pay 50€ again? Thanks
That's good to hear, I only checked Austria & Ireland and I assumed other countries had the same conditions. We're removing weekend fees on currency exchange, so you can send and spend like a local in 150+ countries with low fees, 7 days a week."
Opened and funded a Trade Republic account today. It won't let me order a card. Not even a virtual one. It says I am in "position" 1, 284, 124. That many people ahead of me waiting to be able to order a card? ! I'm in Spain. Seriously? What is going on?
As I mentioned at the end of the video, the card rollout in the 16 countries outside Germany is only starting next week! After that, it shouldn't take too long to get yours as well!

Yes of course, I find it to be a wildly misunderstood topic, that actually comes with more benefits than downsides for the vast majority of investors (at least how it's implemented on German brokers like Trade Republic). I'll publish a video about it soon!
Hi Angelo, is it possible to set up a monthly automatic debit from the Trade Republic cash account to a reference account? If so, how do I do it? Thank you!
hello Angelo, Hope you doing well, Thank you for the video, amazing like always, do you think its possible to move the invested funds from flatex to trade republic, and if its not possible it it wise to use the trade republic card as for saveback it require saving plan
My pleasure! If you're in Austria, I would keep your investments on Flatex, since they take care of any taxes for you, so that's the easiest option. Hopefully TR will become "steuereinfach" early next year as well, then it won't matter anymore. You can still use Trade Republic as well though, all that is needed to get the saveback is to have a commission-free savings plan at 50€ per month: angelo.fi/trcard
Hi! Thank you for the review!! I am thinking about starting my saving plan soon and Trade Republic seems a good option, but I don't understand how I can change broker if in the future the commissions will change. You say that it's possible, but could you please explain how it works? If I buy etfs on Gettex then my next broker needs to use Gettex too, right? Otherwise I can not move my etfs.. I'm quite confused about this point 😵💫 and will I have to pay a fee? Thanks again
Hi Angelo! I have a question about TR. In order for your shares to be registered on your name, do you have to activate something in the app or are they by default done so?
Hi Angelo, do you have anything to share about the recent T&C implemented by Trade Republic starting from April 1st in regards to the administration fees?
They definitely didn't remove it, that's just a bug which can show up on occasion when their servers are overwhelmed by traffic. Try restarting the app and you should see it again!
Do you mean currency exchange fees? No, as mentioned in the video you get the exact VISA exchange rate with no markup, not even on weekends (which is the case on Revolut).
You get a yearly tax report specifically for Austria, containing the tax amounts you need to file on your own. Flatex is the only low-fee broker that takes care of all taxes in Austria: angelo.fi/flatex
Great video and great content. besides wthdrawing money at an atm, can you also do payments on line and in the groceries shop? I guess the minum withdrawal of 100€ for cash to avoid 1% of charges, you can buy on line without extra charges No matter what amount you buy?
You pay a bit more in fees, but it's a simple way to add a bit of exposure (eg. to Bitcoin) without needing to deal with all of the hassle (security etc.) of holding crypto yourself and you easily have an overview of all of your assets incl. stocks/ETFs in one brokerage account
What do you think about probability of using Trade Republic long term? I don’t see how they’re profitable long term. I love the app. Give it every month on savings plan and for the 4% p. a. but have some concerns about the stability of the bank. Seems to good to be true. Your thoughts on that? Thanks 🙏🏻
They were profitable last year. I'm sure they did some calculations regarding the 1% saveback offer, which is why it's capped at 15€ max/month via 1.500€ of payments using the card. Only a very small percentage of its users will be getting anywhere near that on a monthly basis in my opinion. They're probably expecting to make that money back by increasing the number of customers using Trade Republic to invest as well. Even with the direct orders for 1€ and the commission-free saving plans, Trade Republic generates about 0,75€/order in revenue, which is paid by the Lang & Schwarz exchange. As for the 4% interest, that's simply what banks are getting for overnight deposits with the ECB, so they're definitely not losing any money there: www.ecb.europa.eu/stats/policy_and_exchange_rates/key_ecb_interest_rates/html/index.en.html
Just one caveat for Irish citizens - choosing any ETF for the “saveback” means painful exit tax, so it’ll be better to use a stock or investment trust for this
@@AngeloColomboFiyes, correct! Finally in Germany modern bankings are appearing. Also, opened for myself recently a C24 bank for daily use. Very cool app!

Can't get the referral code to work, perhaps because I view on laptop and sign up on phone. Just that you know! Is it possible to post the referral code in text?
I got the card and made some withdrawals. Now they blocked my account and I have no way to communicate with them. The only option is to use the chat bot on their website which is totally useless. My account has been blocked since 1st May 2024 and for what? Withdrawing some money? Be aware. I should have checked their customer service contact options before opening an account with them.
I've opened 4 tickets now. Reached out in X. No response. Last resort was to contact BaFin. TR had not responded to any communication. No phone number to call. 😔
Damn that sucks, never heard of that happening before. I hope it gets resolved asap! Edit: I forwarded your case to Oswald Salcher (DACH region manager at Trade Republic and my contact there), he's going to look into it!
Hi Angelo! Thanks a lot for the video! In what ATM do you get cash in order not to get a fee? In Austria I get a fee from the ATM provider when in withdraw cash from a non-Austrian bank. Another question - I am waiting the tax report from TR for 2023 to do my tax declaration in Austria. Do you know if it should come soon? Thanks a lot again!
My pleasure Alberto! I've never paid a fee for ATM withdrawals in many different locations around Vienna with my Austrian BAWAG card either (or N26/Revolut), so no idea what ATMs you have around your area 😅 But if non-Austrian banks charge you a fee for cash withdrawals (which they would need to state anyway beforehand), I would just wait and go to another ATM instead. The Austrian tax report for the previous year usually arrives in May, so that you can file taxes by the end of June.
I've heard about Raiffeisen ATMs adding a fee to your withdrawal (even for Raiffeisen customers). I've never had to pay a fee with my Erste Band card at Erste Bank ATM.
Hi I can not see were it went that first saveback, do you know if you loss the previous month saveback if you had not have set the investment plan with it? Thanks!!
Having 50€ in monthly saving plans set up is a requirement for the saveback to be paid out/invested, so it's possible you lost yours from the previous month if you didn't have a saving plan for it to be added to.
Hi I already had a few invesment plans in the app, but not conected with the saveup thing... It should be like a history or something to check that no? Thx
Hi, great video! I've got a question though... I have a saving account in Trade Republic and investments in ETFs in that account as well... But I'm going to live to Australia next year. So, Could I transfer my ETFs (acc) from the Europe's account to anothet broker in Australia without selling them? Thanks!
Thank you for the great content, Angelo! I am on position 304.000 and cant wait to get mine :D I know this is a bit off-topic, but could you do a video on how to fill out tax declarations in Austria, especially when using Trade Republic and it's not 'steuereinfach'? Also, do you have a tax advisor, or do you handle it all yourself? Would love to hear your insights on this!
My pleasure! Official rollout in Austria should start this week, so hopefully the queue will get much shorter quickly :) I file my taxes myself and ask a friend of mine who's a tax advisor on occasion when I have questions. But it's quite easy with Trade Republic's yearly tax report specifically for Austria (which usually comes in May): support.traderepublic.com/de-at/1044-Wie-kann-ich-als-%C3%96sterreicher-Steuern-einreichen
Hi Angelo, aside from this card, I am considering on putting my saving account here for the interest rate. I would like to know what is the maximum amount you can withdraw from the account to my lets say revolut account? For example if I have 10K there, and I want that money urgently for an emergency, how long it will take me to get it out of TR? Is there any cap on withraw amount? I saw a lot of reddit posts and comments, people complaining about not being able to get their money out of TR, and TR support being useless. Thank you!
There is no limit on withdrawals (bank transfers) from Trade Republic. Based on my experience doing a ton of transfers back and forth, the money arrived the next working day 90% of the time or the day after otherwise. This is with my Austrian bank account. I would just test sending a bit of money from and to Trade Republic from your Revolut account to get an idea of what to expect. I also think it doesn't hurt to always keep a small amount on a second bank account for emergencies, so that you're able to bridge a few days (eg. holidays/weekends) for the transfer to arrive. According to the regional manager, they're aware of the negative posts and improving/scaling customer support is their top priority right now, so that issues get resolved a lot faster. Luckily I've never encountered issues myself though and neither have my friends and family members who use Trade Republic here in Austria.
Thank for this content, Angelo! I opened my TR account. When it comes to the option Transfer (with the given options to make transfers), I was only able to add the credit card of my current bank account, and not the Giro account. Can I do this? Also, I have the Apple Pay option but not the Google Pay option. How can I add Google Pay? Do you know? Thank you!
That's probably because you have an iPhone, which has Apple Pay instead of Google Pay (Android) :) Only the first deposit using that option is free though, so make sure you deposit money via bank transfer, which is always free of charge!
As your regular follower, I also want to add that I wouldn't mind you monetizing your content with sponsorships, as long as you are transparent about it. But still great to hear you want to stay neutral, which definitely adds credibility! Since I saw in one of your screenshots that Trade Republic has 0% fees on crypto when buying through a savings plan, are you buying crypto only there or still on Bitvavo/Bitpanda mainly (you mentioned it in one of the other videos)?
I appreciate you saying that, thank you. I'm very happy with the way things are though :) It's an easy option, just be aware that you do have a spread of close to 1% when buying/selling crypto on Trade Republic, either directly or via saving plans. It can still be useful to have everything together on a brokerage account, but I still prefer Bitvavo due to its lower fee of 0,15%-0,25% and the ability to move crypto offline to my hardware wallet: angelo.fi/bit
Hi Angelo. Can you help me please?🙏 Let’s say I invest 200.000 in ETF over T.R and T.R goes bankrupt, gets hacked resulting T.R to stop working. What happens with my ETF? Are ETF-s connected to TR or independent ? Can I take my ETF and cash it on some other platform or they are lost together with TR? I know about 100.000 account insurance, thats fine. 🙏
Hi Angelo! First video but great content - thanks! I have set up TR and have a monthly saving plan including my 1% cash back on spending. My confirmation (of €50 investment) shows €1 commission and third party payments of €15! I can’t see these deducted from order though? Please can you clarify how it works?
Hey!! I'm wondering how I can buy SCHD from IB as where I try to buy it I get a message saying I need a KID in English. How can I have it, I'm from Spain!
You can't buy US-domiciled ETFs in Europe due to regulatory reasons sadly. Freedom24 seems to be the only exception where this is possible (no idea how): th-cam.com/video/4B05bx3pHT8/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared&t=873
Regarding the 4% interest, and the 1% saveback, these need to be added as an income to the IRS, right? Or are they going directly to an investment purchase, and there's no need to pay taxes on it? This bank is definitively interesting, but the tax thing is still an open question to me..
Saveback/cashback is not counted as income in most countries. You do have to file taxes for what you earn in interest on your savings and profits from investments on the broker. You get a yearly tax report summarizing everything on Trade Republic though, which makes this relatively easy
@@AngeloColomboFi I didn't know about the yearly report, that really helps! I already signed up and will use this bank/broker to get started on ETFs. Thanks for the great videos :)
Angelo thanks again for another great detailed video. I would just like to add that when buying a stock for ex. AQN in the TR app, yes you only pay a 1€ fee but (BUYing price is higher then SELLing price, I think this is a hidden commission fee) I hope it makes sense what i'm trying to say. The 4% interest on uninvested cash is awesome though :)
My pleasure! The difference between buying & selling price is called spread and is never 0. I've compared it to several other brokers and at least for my VWCE ETF orders the spread was never worse - I tend to compare it to executed orders at the same time on Gettex afterwards: www.gettex.de/en/ Of course that could be different for stocks/ETFs with low volume!
Thank you for your work, I’m following your videos, but something is missing I was expecting my 4% of 10k€ and I get 8 euros.. so the 4% isn’t 4%? What is the catch?
Just check your monthly interest payment, it shows you your average balance that month, which I'm assuming was lower than 10K. There is no catch, you get 4% interest p.a. on up to 50K of uninvested funds.
@@AngeloColomboFi Thanks for answering my question, so it means that if I have 10k in my average balance I get 400€? I’m very confused about this 8€ but it’s my first month.. I hope it changes
Angelo, I used your link for TR card, but during the installation the app is requesting a referral code , so I'm not sure if its working. do u have a referral code instead of a referral link? thank you for the really amazing work you are doing for the community.
Thank you, I really appreciate you using my link 🥂 You can try my personal referral code as well if you want, it might get you 10€ or so after a few trades: 3FJKNLKV Either way, you'll be counted as referred by me if you used my link, so thank you for going out of your way to do that, it means a lot! :)
There is a bank in Portugal offering 5% interest on your cash when opening an account for the first time, so it beats this one in that regard... well, kinda:) It is only for 1 year, after that it drops to 2% for the 2nd year (and after that you get nothing haha), also there are some conditions, though they're not hard to achieve, but you need to use their free credit card a couple times every 6 months, and receive an 800€+ salary on that account. Also the limit there is 10k It's bankinter, it's a more "traditional bank", very different from this one, but thought I'd mention it
Thanks for mentioning it, even though it seems like you have to run through a lot of hoops to get an extra 1% on a max. of 10.000€, so a max. of 100€ in interest if you have exactly 10.000€ in savings.
It's a pity that even living in austria, they don't finish the account recognition with my Brazilian passport. Its been more than a month and they just say they are working on that, but never happens...had to start with scalable then and had no issue to open the account
@@AngeloColomboFi coincidence or not, after your video I sent another email and soon the account got approved. I managed to use it quite a lot already, not only that, also my other Brazilian friends who used my invite managed to approve the account in a couple of days. By the way, your content is great, especially for us living in Austria, I am quite curious now about how to check next year the tax reports from Trade republic using the official data from OeKB, it seems so complex and no effort was successful. It would be a great video if you show how to calculate the Austrian taxes for the FTSE All-World UCITS ETF (ACC).
Yes, I use Interactive Brokers and Trade Republic for the most part, but also have some older existing shares on Flatex. My wife uses Trade Republic and Scalable Capital and also has older shares on Flatex. They each have their pros & cons and come without account fees, so I see no downside in having several to choose from.
The interest rate is 4% YEARLY, so the monthly compounding takes into consideration that one's month interest will itself return interest the next months. You're not receiving 4%/12 interest each month but a little less!! (such that after one year the total return is 4%)
@@AngeloColomboFi again, I disagree. It's useless to discuss this further because we're talking about 0.07% difference which is literally noise, so I won't keep replying after this last comment. But let me re-explain what I said in my first comment because this compounding effect you're talking about starts being substantial if the return is higher. The difference that we're arguing over is the difference between APR and APY: respectively annual percentage rate and annual percentage yield. They are both a yearly percentage on the return on your investment, but APR does not take into consideration the compounding effect. Trade republic offers an interest of 4% APY on un-invested cash. That's the equivalent of 3.93% yearly if you divide it into 12 equal compounded months
€100K bank deposit guarantee vs. an unspecified QMMF, which can also go down in value according to its terms. Is that extra risk worth an extra 0.2% p.a.?

Is it possible to segregate money to separate account which is not linked to the card?
You can't move money to another account to split between saving/spending, you can however deactivate/activate card payment functions as needed within the app.
New changes on TR make the cash account, that is earning interest not protected up to the 100k they are saying?!!! Have you managed to contact TR on this?
I'm thinking about getting Trade Republic simply to drop all my savings on there and benefit from the yearly 4% compared to the 1,3% my Dutch bank gives me. What are your thoughts?
Hey Angelo, I've seen that TR receives payments for orders that are soon to be banned in the EU and lead to, according to AFM, worse prices. It'd be nice to see your take on this!:)
At least I've never once personally noticed a worse price at the time of execution for my VWCE purchases on Trade Republic vs. Interactive Brokers or the Gettex exchange, the latter of which I often use to compare the price I paid at specific points in time. According to the German regulator BaFin (and a study by Trade Republic), PFOF practices in Germany seem to be better and generally should not lead to worse execution prices compared to large exchanges like XETRA. You can always work with limit orders and compare price with other exchanges if you're worried about this.
Hi Angelo, I just created a Trade Republic account into which I could put my cash, because I was earning nothing on it through my own bank. I'm now earning 3.75% on up to €50,000. Can you tell me what if any interest will I earn if balance exceeds €50,000? Also does this rate apply to whole balance or just to that part over €50,000?? Finally, is it possible to open second or third account in order to maximise amount earning 3.75%??? Thanks, Philip
Hi Philip, unless you're based in Germany, you currently only earn interest on the first 50.000€ at the 3.75% rate. The amount that's above 50k earns zero interest at the moment, so you could potentially move that extra money into a money market fund like XEON instead. No, you can only open one account in your name.
Thank you, I appreciate you going out of your way to do that. Trade Republic is still working with partner banks, but the money is still secured by a bank deposit guarantee for up to 100.000€/investor.
Great video Angelo, thanks! It all looks pretty nice, but I still can't believe they live on that 1€ fee per transaction. What holds me back is the lack of other currencies other than Euros. Is there a way to know how much their FX fee is when you are buying for example a S&P500 stock in dollars? For strategies like buying dividend companies and reinvesting the dividends it would be nice to know how much it is costing you to get paid $ to € and then again reinvesting and doing € to $. It is annoying that if you want to reinvest your dividends you have to make the change again! Hope you can solve my doubts here! Have a lovely day!
Thank you! It's not the only way they make money (currently working on a video on that!). Trade Republic uses the interbank exchange rate and adds a small markup, you can see the details here: support.traderepublic.com/en-ie/796-How-does-currency-conversion-work
Hi, Nice promo. Based on your earlier videos I got my TR account and card. Everything is working Ok. As TR influencer, maybe you know (or can ask) when/if they are planning to use the banking license they got last year ? At least in my case they currently still Using virtual City Bank account, making all this 100k Eur deposit guarantee a little bit uncertain (deposits is stored in TR corporate account and in case of insolence it‘s up to the judge to decide if deposit guarantee scheme is applicable or not). P.S. for regular fold TR costumer service is useless: I was told that I can‘t by one of the ETF‘s I already had in my portfolio. It took them over a week to replay.
Also, IMPORTANT. Do bank transfers from account in own name. My money wasn’t allocated and have been chasing them for weeks. Terrible customer service 🤬.
Can you cover the new IBAN change on trade republic and the fact that they are storing large sum of our money in BlackRock? Would be a pretty educational and informative video. Cheers.
Hello Angelo! You’re a star With these videos and efforts you’re enlightening us, please keep it up 👌 I have a silly question, forgive my ignorance. If I have 10.000€ in my TR account Will I earn 400€ a month or this 400€ is annual interest which is divided into 12 months?
The lack of the option to set transaction limit, or even better a separate "wallet" (I wouldn't mind not earning interest on the money in that wallet) just makes it too risky. And I read what they say about fraud, it sounds like it's basically up to you to try to be safe... Otherwise I would order it right away, but I won't until they implement such a solution.
Thanks for your review, all these low or zero fees sound very nice, however, it begs the question about how do they make money? they are not a charity after all.

@@AngeloColomboFiI accept and appreciate your approach. But I don't see how accepting a sponsorship is much different than affiliate commission. Unless you mean that sponsored content don't mention any negatives at all usually.
Here's my issue with most channels doing sponsorships:
@@AngeloColomboFi thank you!
Thank you for taking the time to do the review!
This was so well explained and summed up. But also importantly, not sponsored so unbiased.

I would have happily replied to you without that as well :)
Since we're taxed individually in Austria (no tax benefit being married), we each have our own brokerage accounts where we invest our monthly savings. We simply count everything together (we consider all of it shared among the 2 of us + our daughter) and also make investment decisions based on our asset allocation as a family. There is no formal/legal arrangement (apart from being married).
Obrigado!
Thank you, that's very kind of you! :)
Great review, thank you Angelo! Compared to other cards in traditional European banks it is definitely worth considering especially with those specifications.
thank you for the comparison with Revolut!
Hi Angelo, amazing content :)
I deposited 40k in TR between Feb and now.

Great video as always. A bit of a negative surprise after opening a TR account are the deposit fee of 0,7% and the deposit limit of €5000 at a time. (1st deposit being free of charge). It would have been nice if you mentioned that because this is usually free of charge.
Deposits (& withdrawals) are always free of charge, just make sure you pick the Bank transfer option 🙏

Have you done your research about payment for order flow (PFOF) method that trade republic follows?
Yes of course, I find it to be a wildly misunderstood topic, that actually comes with more benefits than downsides for the vast majority of investors (at least how it's implemented on German brokers like Trade Republic). I'll publish a video about it soon!
I was sold until you said there's no way to divide your funds into spending and savings buckets. That's too bad!
Hi Angelo, is it possible to set up a monthly automatic debit from the Trade Republic cash account to a reference account? If so, how do I do it? Thank you!
hello Angelo, Hope you doing well,
Thank you for the video, amazing like always,
do you think its possible to move the invested funds from flatex to trade republic, and if its not possible it it wise to use the trade republic card as for saveback it require saving plan

Hi Angelo!
I have a question about TR.
In order for your shares to be registered on your name, do you have to activate something in the app or are they by default done so?
Why in the app is not possible making a saving plan with some stocks?
Generally, you can set up saving plans for single stocks. But it's possible saving plans are not supported for every stock
Hi Angelo, do you have anything to share about the recent T&C implemented by Trade Republic starting from April 1st in regards to the administration fees?
I'm not sure what you're referring to exactly. What administration fee?
I noticed that today 3/04/24 Trade Republic removed the 4% interest bonus from my account 😅 what happened?
They definitely didn't remove it, that's just a bug which can show up on occasion when their servers are overwhelmed by traffic. Try restarting the app and you should see it again!
Let's say I'm from Spain and I go to UK. With Trade Republic Card do I pay exchange rates for each buy that I do? because with revolut not
Do you mean currency exchange fees? No, as mentioned in the video you get the exact VISA exchange rate with no markup, not even on weekends (which is the case on Revolut).
Hello, do you now if trade republic is an otc or a regulated market broker ? thanks in advance
Dear Angelo, Thanks for the video. Can you please share how trade republic is complaint with Austrian tax authorities.
Thank you! Yes of course, there are no fees or minimums for payments!
The 1€ fee only applies if you withdraw less than 100€ in cash at an ATM.
Hi. Thank you for your vídeo.
What is your opinion on buying crypto also on TR, instead of investing through Bitvavo?
@@AngeloColomboFi I really hope so because today is definitely my favorite broker in this days.

What was the reason why your account was blocked? When did you reach out to customer service and what was their response?
I've opened 4 tickets now. Reached out in X. No response. Last resort was to contact BaFin. TR had not responded to any communication. No phone number to call. 😔
No reason was given. I've no idea why they blocked. The message said that I need to contact them. I've tried. No response
I've never paid a fee for ATM withdrawals in many different locations around Vienna with my Austrian BAWAG card either (or N26/Revolut), so no idea what ATMs you have around your area 😅
But if non-Austrian banks charge you a fee for cash withdrawals (which they would need to state anyway beforehand), I would just wait and go to another ATM instead.
Hi
I can not see were it went that first saveback, do you know if you loss the previous month saveback if you had not have set the investment plan with it?
Thanks!!
Having 50€ in monthly saving plans set up is a requirement for the saveback to be paid out/invested, so it's possible you lost yours from the previous month if you didn't have a saving plan for it to be added to.

I know this is a bit off-topic, but could you do a video on how to fill out tax declarations in Austria, especially when using Trade Republic and it's not 'steuereinfach'? Also, do you have a tax advisor, or do you handle it all yourself? Would love to hear your insights on this!
My pleasure! Official rollout in Austria should start this week, so hopefully the queue will get much shorter quickly :)

Thank you!
That's probably because you have an iPhone, which has Apple Pay instead of Google Pay (Android) :)
Only the first deposit using that option is free though, so make sure you deposit money via bank transfer, which is always free of charge!
I'm very happy with the way things are though :)
It's an easy option, just be aware that you do have a spread of close to 1% when buying/selling crypto on Trade Republic, either directly or via saving plans. It can still be useful to have everything together on a brokerage account, but I still prefer Bitvavo due to its lower fee of 0,15%-0,25% and the ability to move crypto offline to my hardware wallet: angelo.fi/bit

Ist passible to use Trade Republic as only saving account without any investment?
Of course!

There is a bank in Portugal offering 5% interest on your cash when opening an account for the first time, so it beats this one in that regard... well, kinda:)
It is only for 1 year, after that it drops to 2% for the 2nd year (and after that you get nothing haha), also there are some conditions, though they're not hard to achieve, but you need to use their free credit card a couple times every 6 months, and receive an 800€+ salary on that account. Also the limit there is 10k
It's bankinter, it's a more "traditional bank", very different from this one, but thought I'd mention it
Thanks for mentioning it, even though it seems like you have to run through a lot of hoops to get an extra 1% on a max. of 10.000€, so a max. of 100€ in interest if you have exactly 10.000€ in savings.
o bankinter não da 5% no primeiro ano, dá 3,6% no primeiro ano e 1,44% no segundo
It's a pity that even living in austria, they don't finish the account recognition with my Brazilian passport. Its been more than a month and they just say they are working on that, but never happens...had to start with scalable then and had no issue to open the account
Sorry to hear that Matthias, hopefully it will be resolved soon. Scalable is great as well, it's just missing the 4% interest and the card.
It would be a great video if you show how to calculate the Austrian taxes for the FTSE All-World UCITS ETF (ACC).
do you use multiple brokers for your ETFS? if yes, why?
Yes, I use Interactive Brokers and Trade Republic for the most part, but also have some older existing shares on Flatex. My wife uses Trade Republic and Scalable Capital and also has older shares on Flatex. They each have their pros & cons and come without account fees, so I see no downside in having several to choose from.
The interest rate is 4% YEARLY, so the monthly compounding takes into consideration that one's month interest will itself return interest the next months.
You're not receiving 4%/12 interest each month but a little less!! (such that after one year the total return is 4%)
Due to compounding at 4% p.a. with interest paid monthly, if you leave the interest there you actually make around 4.07% after a year.
Does trade republic still does not do taxes for ETFs and stocks for people like Flatex does ?
Thanks so much:)
Sadly not yet, hopefully soon 🤞
Thanks :) please make an update video when it happens:)))
why trade republic (4%) and not trading212 (4.2%)?

You can't move money to another account to split between saving/spending, you can however deactivate/activate card payment functions as needed within the app.
New changes on TR make the cash account, that is earning interest not protected up to the 100k they are saying?!!! Have you managed to contact TR on this?
Can you elaborate on this point?
Do you pay a 1€ fee if you pay someting in the supermarket, less than 100€?
No, of course not! The 1€ fee is only if you pick up less than 100€ in cash at an ATM and has nothing to do with payments.
I'm thinking about getting Trade Republic simply to drop all my savings on there and benefit from the yearly 4% compared to the 1,3% my Dutch bank gives me. What are your thoughts?
I don't see why not, we're doing the same with our savings and now our money that's meant for monthly expenses as well!
@@AngeloColomboFi Very well
Hey Angelo, I've seen that TR receives payments for orders that are soon to be banned in the EU and lead to, according to AFM, worse prices.

Thanks,
Philip
Hi Philip, unless you're based in Germany, you currently only earn interest on the first 50.000€ at the 3.75% rate. The amount that's above 50k earns zero interest at the moment, so you could potentially move that extra money into a money market fund like XEON instead. No, you can only open one account in your name.
Fantastic content. Subscribed.
Thank you, quite informative!
What if i pay in £ instead of €
Then it's converted using the VISA exchange rate that day with no markup
How does tax work with the saveback?
Probably depends on your country's tax laws, usually "cashback" should be tax-free if I'm not mistaken.
@@AngeloColomboFi thank you Angelo
Thanks for the video, using your link to get me a TradeRepublic Account. Any idea why is Trade Republic opening an escrow account for me?
I have exactly same problem 😕
@@G.Rengarajan Did you manage to solve it?
Yes, it arrived finally!
Can you cover the new IBAN change on trade republic and the fact that they are storing large sum of our money in BlackRock? Would be a pretty educational and informative video. Cheers.
Hello Angelo! You’re a star
With these videos and efforts you’re enlightening us, please keep it up 👌
I have a silly question, forgive my ignorance.
If I have 10.000€ in my TR account
Will I earn 400€ a month or this 400€ is annual interest which is divided into 12 months?
Thank you! The 4% interest rate is per year, so 400€ per year and 33,33€/month with 10K on the account
@@AngeloColomboFi Thanks a million mate
You’re a legend
Can you deposit cash on the atm with the card?
Not yet as far as I know
The lack of the option to set transaction limit, or even better a separate "wallet" (I wouldn't mind not earning interest on the money in that wallet) just makes it too risky.
With a good bank, you can withdraw at an ATM by using your phone's NFC. You don't need a card to withdraw money at an ATM but a phone and the bank app installed!
Crazy that I never tried that. I remember seeing the contactless sign often, but I've never tested how that works compared to the card 😅
