Three mug cards done in three entirely different ways but each one had the same outcome which was AMAZING. I was sure as I watched you work on each one that "that one" would be my favorite, in the end I couldn't pick a favorite. Your Copic coloring is always so top notch but so is your ink blending and now recently you've totally stunned me with your usage of Mica Stains. Until watching you recently I somehow thought the Mica Stains were to add interest here and there, I don't know if I would have ever thought of doing an entire card of them but I sure have now. I think your Birdhouse card won me over to the fab outcome that can be achieved. Again & again you never cease to amaze me. Watching you make these cards & our current weather change has me thinking that a mug of "Hot Chocolate" might hit the spot, nicely. Thanks Nichol for again sharing your creativity, These are amazing. .

I love how these started out with stencil, paste, glitter paste, blending and then a die on top to top it off. Wow, just wow! Absolutely loving this technique 😍 Thanks for sharing such awesome inspiration.

Just a tip from Tim Holtz- he says to use press and seal right against the surface of pastes to keep them fresh! I even use it with mod podge..

It was such a fabulous idea to do the same basic concept but with different media for each card. Gives us lots more to think about as to how we can be using all of our dies with different products and know that the end results are going to be fabulous.

I love! love! love! the pink coffee cups background with the red mug card. 💗 Definitely sent me to my stash looking at my mug collections. I’m surprised at the number of mug images I own. I don’t think I knew I am that into mugs.
I’m not a fan of layered stencils, or stamps or die cuts for that matter. I tend to feel if I want layers I will figure it out. I think I can create a background with various small mug stamps.
I bought last year’s mug die set because I saw you make a dead cute card with that set-- the set with whipped cream & two sizes of marshmallows(I don’t remember the craft company) I’m trying to decide if adding gingerbread peeps would be fun.
Last year’s mug die is a bit shorter than today’s version which made me run through my digital cut files. I was quite surprised by how many 3D mug cut files I have. It’s always good to shop your stash before purchasing more. These days it’s not so much money but space that curbs my craft supply enthusiasm.
