- Today, I reacted to a video titled "An Introduction to the 7 Members of BTS" and learned more about BTS!! I really wanted to know their names and how they formed - so I was so excited to watch this video. Let me know what I should react to next!!

you mentioned that you were surprised that Jin didn't initially want to sing since his voice is so beautiful, but he actually didn't start off as he sounds now! he worked very hard to improve his voice and often said that he felt he had to "catch up" to the other vocalists. If you listen to their earlier songs, you can hear the difference his hard work has made!

"Rise of Bangtan" is fabulous. I am 45 and have been ARMY for 6years. I absolutely love that series and agree that especially for new or baby ARMY, it is a must see. I have already watched it several times and continue to enjoy it. 💜🇺🇲💜

Jimin is the king of kpop for 5 long years
Love how you're like "Aww, I like him!" after RM, then Suga, then J-Hope... That's the thing about BTS - one or two might catch your attention at first, but you'll end up loving all of them. I agree with those recommending "This is BTS" by xCeleste (solid, brief intro providing context for them as a group/phenomenon) and "The Most Beautiful Life Goes On (2021 Update)" by The Asian Theory. To remember names, just focus on their faces, not hair color - even their eye colors change (with contacts)! Maybe Google a group photo with names next to each person and study it for a few minutes (best assignment ever).
Just two little FYIs: RM is the group leader but not in the Western "front man" sense (that's not a thing in Kpop), more as a pillar and focal point. All members can put out solo mixtapes and songs (solos not directly part of the BTS discography) and there's zero issues - they all support each other, and it's standard procedure for them. You'll soon see that there's no fighting egos or any such thing with them. They're the most humble legends ever.
You'll also be hearing all this Kpop/fandom lingo... your favorite member is your "bias" but when another member steals your attention, they're your "bias wrecker". Most of Army love all 7 (and this is called being "OT7", which stands for "One True 7" because we seriously can't love just one); in fact, if someone seems to care about only one member while downgrading or ignoring the others, they're called "solo stans" and are really frowned upon, haha. This is a thing with BTS (maybe more than most groups) because BTS see each other as brothers/family and they've even said "BTS is seven". The feeling of destiny is strong with them, hehe. They are inseparable and that's part of their unique dynamic and magic as a group. Subscribed and hope to see more. : )

I’m a pretty young Army (about 14 months old 😁) and I was and am in that rabbit hole all by myself. I had no idea about all the fandom vocab and stuff, and kept stumbling across all these songs and performances. Listening to music in Korean feels natural now (I got used to that from K dramas a few years before I found BTS).
In my early BTS days, I saw them performing Boy With Luv (Beatles-style 😍 on the Colbert Show); Carpool Karaoke on the James Corden show; and their performance of Black Swan on Corden that made me go, what… this is not your typical “boy band” is it?
Just know, there’s a ton of content - on top of being active for 8 years, they’ve been very prolific and also do variety-type shows, commercials, projects - tons of live performances for TV and award shows and their own concerts (not to mention the endless fan edits), phew! So, pace yourself and have fun with it. ☺️
I definitely love your reaction. You seems so honest and sincere with your comments and observations. It is easy to spot reactors who are only reacting to BTS just for view and like counts and you are none of that. Tbh, I’m not really a K-Pop fans but BTS is an exception. They’re different from the rest and like most people, I think they don’t belong to any specific genre because their music is universal. They have something for everybody with different music preferences and it is impossible not to like them. Once you stop being skeptical about their music and open your mind, you will fall in love with them. At least that is how I got suck into this rabbit hole. I’m still new in my BTS journey so I still have a lot to catch but so far all the songs I have listened to are just amazing. Good luck girl :)

Yes, that high note in Dynamite was Jimin. People on their first listen think that he is girl, lol. And he is cute and sounds like angel but he is deadly too lol.
I just wanted say that yes, they are wearing make-up. All artist wear make-up. Only diference is that in west its 'invisible' make-up but K-pop is heavy on visuals that means bright make-up, clothes, hair and contacts. Just dont be insensitive about it or people will get mad. They (BTS) got enough crap about it (being like girls + too much to count other things you will learn about) that fans get overly protective.
Great reaction, if you want learn them apart, try solos. It will give you time to focus on one member at the time. Best is MV or live stage. Here are my tips but people will have diferent taste.
RM - 'Do you' or 'Joke' but find MVs with subs, auto-generated are garbage
Suga - Agust D is his second stage name, songs 'agust D' or 'Daechwita' or 'Shadow' as Suga
J-Hope - i just love 'Airplane' and 'daydream' (people will tell you chicken noodle soup but its mostly becky g so i dont think its best introduction song)
Jin - Epiphany live stage. MV is short version and Jins vocals are best live.
Jungkook or JK for short - 'Euphoria' live. Its all i have to say.
V - 'singularity' or 'stigma' live
Jimin - 'serendipity' or 'filter' or 'lie' live. Jimin is my bias and my favourite song is Lie and performance Filter.

so the *Dance Line* is like a unit of members who performs to only dance in some of their concerts or those who do their mini dance performance video they post on TH-cam, so this unit consists of Jhope, Jimin, Jungkook and V
they also have the *Rap Line*
as you now know, they have 3 rappers, we call this unit as the rapline, there are songs that are only the rappers and they also perform these songs in their concerts, this unit consists of RM, SUGA and jhope
so they don't only have solo songs, they also have subunits
some of the rapline songs are: Cyphers 1-4, Outro: Tear, UGH, DDaeng
and they also have the *Vocal Line*
like the rapline, this unit is also about the 4 vocalists: Jin, Jimin, V and Jungkook
some of the vocal line songs: Zero O'Clock, House of Cards, Dimple, The Truth Untold
moving on to their ages
they have the *Hyung Line*
(Hyung is what Korean males call to their older brother or their close male friends who are older than them)
so this unit is the Older Brother Line, they are Jin, SUGA, jhope and RM
and there's the *Maknae Line*
(Maknae is the youngest)
this line consists of Jimin, V and Jungkook... and Jin (yes, he's the oldest but he acts more like the youngest most of the time than the youngest himself, so...)
Jin is the Grammy awarded world’s Silver Voice. He obtained that title by pure hardwork
10:12 K-POP is an industry not a genre. K-POP can simply mean popular music of/in Korea it doesn't define the genre of a song. The western industry often uses the term K-POP to box in/generalize Korean artists/music. So that is why, for example, BTS could do a full on metal song but a lot of people will just go "ah it's just K-POP" or they find it so hard to believe that BTS could make such music because of the preconceived knowledge they have of K-POP being "Just bubble-gum poppy music" which if you take a little time to go deeper into BTS' music discography you'd see that that generalization is far from being correct.

adding onto that, it's also not just BTS that do more than what ppl assume Kpop is. Their discography is a lot more exapnsive in terms of genre and style than most artists, not just other Kpop artists, so it's even more upsetting that ppl box them in so much, but since Kpop is a whole music industry there's a lot of different genres within it and Kpop artists are all stereotyped and debased on xenophobic preconceptions of what Korean pop should sound like

I really loved your reactions and it seems are honest and fun, I will love if you keep reacting to BTS. They have SO many songs and content you can watch. One of the main reasons why BTS is my favorite artist besides their good songs, MVs, dance, vocals, rap and amazing and touching lyrics, is that they as human beings are really humble and fun, you can see their love for each other, their love and how passionate they're with music and their fans. 💜

Bear in mind that when they talk about their ages they are generally talking in Korean age, which is one or two years older than international age. So Jin, for example, was 18 in international age when he started as a trainee with BigHit, but 20 Korean age.
In K-pop the official dance line consists of the members who are the best at dancing and they are usually in the front as they can do complicated choreographies
Hi. Nice reaction. Welcome to BTS. There is one thing I found out when I first listened to BTS 2 years ago, not all Kpop sound like this. BTS are an anomaly. They are their own genre. My bias is JK or Jungkook. They are all equally talented , they are precious and are as humble and kind as they are talented. They are hands down my FAVORITE Korean group. Glad you’re watching this video.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜. The majority of their music is in Korean, some Japanese. I am OT7.
The only thing I dislike about this video is how much it glosses over Jin's role in the group, as the eldest. He and Suga have both spent equal time cooking for the members. Jin is a true foodie who loves to eat and cook! While he may not use his "power" as the eldest, he takes his responsibility as the eldest very seriously and has always done whatever he can to take care of the younger members as a loving older brother. The other members really give him a lot of credit for creating an energy and mood in the team, which has allowed them all to shine and grow their close brotherly bonds.
Ik everyone is recommending xyz documentaries and introduction videos of them, but if you really wanna know more ab them I highly encourage you to watch their official content like interviews or their show "Run BTS" (this one's really entertaining and f hilarious 😂)

Rise of Bangtan (a docuseries made by ARMY) is the best documentary starting from their beginning. But it’s like a tv show and it’s still putting out episodes. The last one released was ep 19. But it is sooo well done and you learn so much. I highly recommend it.

I will say this about the make up, yes they do wear make up. But in reality there isn't any entertainer in the world who doesn't wear make up regardless if they are male or female. And like most entertainers they rarely wear make up when they aren't working. And to be honest BTS are just naturally gorgeous. People think they wear a lot of make up but when you see them barefaced you see just how little make up they actually wear on stage. A lot of people also accuse them of getting plastic surgery. But I really don't think BTS members have had any. RM had a procedure done to his nose for medical reasons (deviated septum) and that's all I know of. The reasons why I think this is BTS haven't had more than a few days off since their debut in 2013 til 2019 when they had their first extended vacation. Like I don't know when people think BTS have had plastic surgery and have had time to recover if they are constantly working and are on camera. Another reason is look at their pictures as kids or even when they debuted, they look practically the same just a little older. Also something this video doesn't talk about is how 6 of the 7 members have all graduated college with their bachelor degrees and they are all now pursuing their masters degrees. Only Jungkook (who is the youngest) is still working towards his bachelors degree. So even with all their success and busy schedule they still value their education. You really cannot go wrong with any BTS song. I became BTS Army about 4 months ago. Have been learning Korean for 111 days. I am 49 years old. My oldest kid is older than all the members. My youngest is younger than all the members. I am obsessed. They are all so talented and sweet.
Korean hip hop scene is huge and produce in my view some of the best rappers
Jungkook is the main vocalist and the lead dancer, he also a sup-rapper, his dance is poweful and full of energy😍😍 he never falied to amaze me. please can you react more to jungkook. Thank you for your reaction🥰
Ida S' Introduction to BTS is very beautiful. The problem is that they never talk. So if you are looking for someone who is more informative on the sights and sounds of BTS I would suggest you watch either The Most Beautiful Life by The Asian Theory or This is BTS by xCeleste both of this TH-camrs have extensive libraries on kpop and BTS respectively. There music crosses all genres and sounds so no there are not too many members when you think of it that way they can go from Rap to R&B, Pop to Jazz and so much more. Which is big as the oldest has just hit his 30s. RM writes most of the lyrics to their music and helps on writing more. RM sits right in the middle as age is concerned 3 older 3 younger. He rights mixtapes as gifts to the fans, they are found on Soundcloud for free. Suga sounds like Shugah, Suga was inducted into Korean Copyright Assoc. before RM. There is a Rap Line consisting of all the rappers, Singing Line consisting of all the singers, and the dance line consisting of all the dancers, they all overlap. Jungkook has the most stable vocals, because he has perfect pitch. He can rap, and when he sings he has a huge vocal range.
Great reaction, nice to see your interest in BTS. As Army (fandom: Adorable Representative MC for Youth) have given a lot of great recommendations I want to add Rise of Bangtan. It's an absolutely excellent fan made series of them from pre-debut and shows their journey through their vlogs. It gives a great overview of K-Pop history & info etc and shows the differences between how BTS was formed and how they work compared to the rest of the Industry. It's a rags to riches, David vs Goliath story. You'll also see their evolution from their early hip hop music to current. It's now at chapter 18 & also has separate bonus content & deleted scenes videos. So if you wanted to start with their earlier songs it's a good starting point.

I dove into the rabbit hole almost 4 years ago now, and I'm more in love than ever. You will end up the same way. It's a beautiful place to be. Welcome, we are a family, so you will never feel alone now. I was one of the extremely fortunate ones to see them live, finally, in L A. so my wish is for everyone to see them on stage. They were born for what they do. Will be looking forward to more reactions.
I've never regretted for even a moment finding BTS or did they find me. The boys say you find them right when you need to. My husband started working 15 hours drive time away from our home. BTS have literally saved my life. They taught this 60 year old how to love myself. I don't know where I would be right now if it weren't for them.

Not sure if anyone mentioned about the Original Dance line. The original dance line was made up of J-Hope, Jimin and Jungkook. They were the only 3 with a dance background and training, prior to being BTS. They have done a couple of dance routines with just the 3 of them and are referred to as "3J". They recently put out a new TH-cam video under the "BANGTANTV channel called...
[CHOREOGRAPHY] BTS (방탄소년단) Butter (feat. Megan Thee Stallion)' Special Performance Video" that is about 1.09 min long.
They also have a 14.37 min long behind the scenes video showing all the time and effort they put in to make it just right.
As you get more familiar with BTS, they have various lines:
Vocal Line: Jin, Jungkook, V, Jimin
Dance Line: Jungkook, JHope, Jimin, V
Rap Line: Suga, RM, JHope.

@@LexListens For example: a dance line consists of the members who are the "official" dancers of the group (j-hope, jimin, jungkook, and a couple of years ago Big Hit Entertainment released a statement that V's officially added to the dance line). The dance line members are often at the front of the choreography formation since their dancing skills and technique are better. In this case "line" has a similar meaning to "group" and it's used to classify the members of the group by different categories like rap, vocal, dance, producing music etc. You could even say that there's a sunshine line a.k.a the brightest, happiest members of the group (jhope, jimin, v) or maknae(youngest)/hyung(oldest) line which categorizes the members by age.

The most important thing you have to know is that they are ALL incredibly talented, these videos are made by fans who have their favorites or bias so the video tends to give more importance to one or two members in particular (most of the time to the youngers) but EVERYONE in bts is equally talented and indispensable

There is a song for different types of people. I also love their dancing. I suggest you also checkout their dance practice and live performances.

There’s a channel on TH-cam where the person doesn’t do reactions but posts great English subtitles to BTS videos. Many live performances don’t have subtitles but her channel does. It’s called “Enjoy BTS More.” If you truly enjoy BTS, your channel will grow quickly because the BTS fans, called ARMY, love watching others fall in love with them. This was a fun reaction. If you’re looking for a good overview video about BTS I highly recommend The Most Beautiful Life Goes On 2021 update by The Asian Theory. I think it does the best job of giving some good info while also being entertaining. If you’re looking for some more songs to listen to I’d recommend Black Swan and Film Out. Both of those MVs are visually stunning. They also have some great live performances to go with them. Check out Black Swan performed on the James Corden show and Film Out at Music Blood. Film Out is also interesting as it’s in Japanese so you can hear the other language they sometimes perform in. And if you want to see something truly shocking check out No More Dream. It was their debut song back when they were mere fetuses. Enjoy the ride.

Hi, welcome to the rabbit hole of BTS, we all have a phase where we "just wanted to know their names" so dont worry , you will get them . Just one advice, never never try to identify them by hair colour, they changed them a lot xD.
Regarding to music, it depends a lot on your "style of music" , my advice ..try a few diferent ones and you will see that they have an impecable discography that covers a lot of genres.
A few of my favourites : Black Swan, Spring Day, and to give you a taste of the RapLine (members who rap) Suga's Daechwita, RM Seoul and JHope Ego for example.
If you want to know their personalities (they r the most chaotic and funny people I have the pleasure to know) you can try to react to an episode of their own Tvshow called " RUN BTS" It's free (the other series of them ,BonVoyage and InTheSoop, are purchasable (and you cant really react to them on yt cause they will b blocked since they r payed content).

about makeup, they do wear makeup on camera, like all actors and singers do (like foundation, eyebrows, light contouring and lip tint), but if you're talking about eyeshadow/concept makeup, they do that only for special occasions/specific album aesthetics really, some members regularly have light eyeshadow and/or light eyeliner on camera tho
they don't really wear makeup when they have days off/don't need to be on camera, like in their travel shows/behind the scene footage that we can see

One of the things that BTS shows us is that hard work can make your dream come true. Each of the members didn't do something well when they were formed, but they had the passion to work at it which made all the difference. Prime example is Jin. He didn't sing or dance when he signed, but look at him now.

Give up on learning them by hair color. They change very frequently. I remember trying to tell them apart when I first became ARMY. As you watch them and watch various videos telling you who is who you will figure it all out 😃
i recommend also watching some vidos about bts as a whole if you actually want to get to know them, and with etting to know the members personally shows like the ones mentiond here help, also interviews etc
I’d recommend “this is BTS by Xceleste” and “ A story of BTS 2021 update by Asian theory “. And if you still want to know more about them,there’s this ongoing documentary series on yt,made by professional filmmakers called “Rise of Bangtan”,where you can genuinely see their rise to the top from dirt poor beginnings. It’s a very inspirational story. For songs, I’d recommend Mic drop, Blood sweat and tears, Fake love ,Black swan and On kinetic manifesto.

20:18 not chorus credit. It's credits for most adlibs. BTS' songs have crazy amazing layers and adlibs.

I would recommend some BTS crack, coz that's how you see their natural side..the side apart from all the hardcore performances you will see the side which is goofy and fun, they aren't called the weirdest/funniest boyband in the world for nothing🤣 some videos I'd suggest are "BTS+drugs=this video" by 'the internet trash can' , "BTS try not to laugh challenge" by 'affectaed', "BTS aren't clowns, they're the entire circus" by 'GuCCiTae', "BTS betraying eachother for 5 min" by 'KOOKIESTAETAS' and "BTS Moments That Makes Big Hit Want To Fire Them" by 'Bunny swag' and much more, and this makes ARMY love them even more😅

Ah so you can say that "lines" are sort of a way to distinguish their roles in the group, the most basic one that most people can understand is "vocal line" and "rap line", which are the vocalists and the rappers respectively. "Dance line" (J-hope, Jimin, Jungkook, V) in this context are members of the group that are more proficient in dancing than the others. Obviously they all can dance, but there are a difference between learning/dancing the choreography and , actually knowing how to dance without choreography and also nailing the gestures & details of the choreography without much practice. It's just that members outside the dance line must practice harder to catch up with the others. All 7 members are insanely in sync after a lot of practice though.
You may also come across the terms "hyung line" (Jin, RM, Suga, J-hope) meaning the older members and "maknae line" (Jimin, V, Jungkook) which are the younger members.

Nice reaction videos for BTS. I like that you’ve done groupings of them but I notice that you’re cutting out parts of them…..and maybe speeding them up a bit?
