39:30 The macuahuitl is not Maori, it's Mesoamerican (Aztecs, Olmecs, Incans, etc). The word itself is from the Nahuatl tongue (it translates roughly to "hand-held wood"), and like other Nahuatl words (axolotl, Queztlcoatl) it gets mispronounced a lot by English speakers. The "TL" isn't meant to be a "tull" sound in these words, and whoever decided that should be the English representation should be fed to terror tots. There are a number of cultural channels on TH-cam if you want more info, but the short version is, the weapon is pronounced roughly like "mah-KWAH-wheet." (And yes, for the inevitable rebuttal comments, there are a number of online sources that insist "tull" is correct, but I'm going to continue to endorse Nahuatl academics over English-trained text-to-speech AI on the pronounciation of their own language)
Dryads were once guardians of Malifaux’s forests and wild places. Each tended groves and cultivated gardens or became Autumn Knights: eternal servants of Queen Titania. Those few who did not remained in their meadows and orchards. When the Grave Spirit entered Malifaux, Dryads watched the Autumn Court become a thing of undeath. Centuries of work rotted away in moments. Survivors fled the necromantic surge. One of their kind, Gwyll, endured the irreparable trauma. He watched his kin waste away, giving themselves to the loam rather than live to see what Titania had done to their lands. Waters of regret fed bitter seeds. These blossomed into flowers of hate. So Gwyll is a he acording to the Waldo's Weakly article from 2022, but still smash.
This is a crew about synergies. Athorak offers some useful tech in building up your healing engine because his Eta Kithae ability stacks with the Urnbearer’s Fill the Urns ability, meaning when something heals around the both of them the Urnbearer gets Shielded +2, allowing it to run Empty the Urn faster. Barbaros could target a Blood Vessel with Bring it, moving them 6 inches up further to get into position for teleporting with Sacred Duty so that they can scheme with Rite of Sacrifice, and because of the way their Ceremonial Weaponry attack works, they could also use the attack generated by Bring It to smack Barbaros and heal him, ignoring the negative flips. Blood Vessels can sort of be a 3 AP model because of Rite of Sacrifice, allowing you to place scheme markers for things like Outflank, Protected Territory, etc. since they can piggyback off someone you’ve moved in the right direction. If you've run your Marathine off in one direction in Kastore 1 and your Blood Vessel heads in the other direction, long distance scheming becomes much more accomplishable.
Love these videos, thanks for the detailed breakdown, I was looking to pick him up along with Nekima for the vampiresque design, how much heresy is to paint them with red blood instead of black I wonder :D Coincidentally if somebody has tips for a good black blood effect do let me know ^^
Haku is saying that Angels eyes is so good that you auto hire her. Not connected to Gwisin themselves. More of a comment on how strong Angel Eyes is. He's bad at stopping while talking so it sounds like a single sentence ... but in Haku land ... it's 2.

The macuahuitl originates in Central America, it has nothing to do with Oceania smh

I have yet to see anyone paint them with black blood instead of red so you're good to do what you want!

1:54:00 you can’t take Gwisin and Angel Eyes in the same list unless I’m missing something

Green gives me a Regen upgrade in a keyword all about healing.
