I’m Timothy Liem, and I composed the music for “Bulan Sabit, Itu Senyummu” based on lyrics written by my dad, Hendra Martono Liem. Even though I can’t fully describe the exact shape of the melody here, I can share what this song means to me: it’s a tender reflection on how love transcends distance, shining softly like a crescent moon in the darkest night.
My father’s words carry a quiet hope-a reminder that no matter how far away someone might feel, their presence can still guide us like a gentle light. In every verse, I sense both the ache of longing and the warmth of treasured memories. My goal was to compose a piece that lets you float in that shared space between yearning and comfort. I hope this song speaks to anyone holding on to love that refuses to fade.

Saya, Timothy Liem, menggubah musik untuk “Bulan Sabit, Itu Senyummu” yang liriknya ditulis oleh ayah saya, Hendra Martono Liem. Walau saya belum bisa sepenuhnya menjabarkan bentuk melodi di sini, saya ingin membagikan makna lagu ini: sebuah perenungan lembut tentang bagaimana cinta melampaui jarak, bersinar pelan bak cahaya bulan sabit di malam yang paling gelap.
Lewat untaian kata dari ayah saya, tersirat harapan yang tenang-pengingat bahwa betapapun jauhnya seseorang, kehadirannya tetap bisa menuntun kita bagaikan sinar lembut. Dalam tiap bait, saya merasakan perih rindu sekaligus hangatnya kenangan. Saya berusaha merangkai musik yang membuat pendengar melayang di ruang antara kerinduan dan rasa nyaman. Semoga lagu ini menyapa siapa saja yang terus menggenggam cinta yang tak pernah pudar.
