Funny--I made modifications to my dust collector as well. Having it vent outside via dryer hose outlets suggests the creator is a genius. I'd be reluctant to install the distributor as shown as my "gut" suggests it would have a bad effect on efficient air flow. Recently I completely redesigned and built my 2nd DC system. The first used much flexible duct and was likely responsible for the poor performance observed. This time I used PVC everywhere--also--did not use 90 degree elbows for right angle turns but staggered them with insertion of short straight runs in between 22 degree elbows. The 2nd system works much better but after seeing your outdoor venting-- I realize I'm not yet done. Thanks very much for sharing!
Really well done video, with lots of great ideas. Agreed: either a cyclone or a "Thien separator" (Google it) should provide excellent chip separation. Also ... if you haven't ... sealing your blast gates (as they enter the MDF) with silicon is a good idea to reduce air infiltration. Thanks for sharing !
You could add a Cyclone to the top and catch all the dust to the bottom. I have my collector with a Cyclone on top of a barrel, Which you could fit a Cyclone in the top, dust falls into the bottom , the Cyclone exhausts into my regular dust collector intake motor which goes through another dust bag and then it separates the dust and chips into the last plastic catch bag. I have had it working for just about a year and I have never gotten enough dust and large chips too have to empty the lower final bag. It has about a cup of collected dust and chips in it. The barrel I have had to empty two times and it is almost do again.
THE LOWER LEFT TUBE THAT LEADS TO THE BUCKET TO COLLECT LARGE PARTICLES, ADD A SHORT "L SHAPE" PVC FITTING THAT POINTS TOWARD THE BUCKET (OR AS AT LEAST AWAY FROM THE OTHER TUBE), IT SHOULD CORRECT YOUR PROBLEM AND SAVE U TIME & MONEY
Just add a Thien Cyclone Separator to your machine. That catches most of the dust. Its one step just below a cyclone. Here is his website. Just google this phrase: phil thein separator
Love your setup! I would bet you could add a Thien top hat design to your collector to grab a lot of that fine dust. I just built a simple cyclone for my shopvac system. Check out my vid if you care to. FrankenVac 0.1 I'm looking into some sort of distribution solution for my small shop.

To keep healthy, dust should always be cleaned from windows. Very well demonstrated video showing basic procedure to clean.

I just built a thien tophat for my system and was very supprized at how well it works. I think it would fit right in above your pail.
Rick.

You should try doing some rigid duct work flexible hose increases static pressure by 3 times compared to metal or pvc duct work.
Add a cyclone system to separate the dust. From what I see in your video It would be a easy fit. Or use the Thein System would work.
can you comment on your static discharge set up?
Did you try a Cyclone dust collector ?
Seperate the heavy stuff w/ a cyclone seperator. There are probably videos on how to make one.
use 45 elbows on the blast gates to point it to the bucket that wiud worck
did you just put the input of the dustcollector on to the distributor?
don't you lose a lot of suction
How about heat loss? If you heat or cool your shop venting this out side must be hard on the wallet.

No way this thing functions better in this configuration...

There are hundreds of videos on TH-cam on how to solve this problem. Think cyclone.
