It's a crime that this show got the axe. I just binged it again for like the billionth time a few days ago, and every time I watch it, I can't wrap my head around the fact that it flopped. But then again that probably has a lot to do with the advertising. All the trailers and promos I saw for Daybreak when it came out made it look really dumb and I didn't even end up watching it until after it had already been cancelled. I was so pissed when I got to episode 7, cause I looked online to see when season 2 would be out, only to find out that there wasn't gonna be a season 2. It made watching the last few episodes a very bittersweet experience
Honestly if this show had more moments like this it wouldn't have been canceled. It had such a really good premise but they did very little with it and just played it safe. Its a shame cause it looked like towards the final few episodes the writers and director started to hit their stride

For example, once the fight was over with, they could've had the jocks run out of the mall, and then that's when everyone realizes that Turbo was shot.
I felt that way too at first but after thinking about it and rewatching the series I feel like they made a good choice not showing the fight. The episode after this (Turbo's episode) I thought was more entertaining and fit the show better. Plus realistically they probably couldn't find a good way to shoot the mall fight scene and went a different direction as a result. I feel like what they did instead of showing it was pretty smart and in line with the show's humor.
