I add 1 tbsp green seasoning and 1/2 Cup room temperature ( 8 ounces) or an 8-oz package of Philadelphia cream cheese to my Mac and Cheese. I love to use the Laughing Cow Swiss cheese( just a wedge).
@ I used mozzarella, Colby Jack and Cheddar. (Most of it was the cheddar). I heard in another video to have at least 1:2 ratio of pasta to cheese. So since this recipe used 16oz of pasta, I used 32 oz total cheese, or 8 cups assuming 2 cups = 8 oz block). Also layered in the cheese and left some of the cheese as cubes and kept that in the middle layer as well. This is in addition to the cream cheese

This was great. Made it fir Thanksgiving and everyone raved about it. Only problem I had was there was a lot of oil when I reheated it the next day. I think I bought the wrong cheese lol
The oil separation is the result of not having a bona fide binding agent. I think this is why some people use such agents as cornstarch, evaporated milk, egg, or a roux. I love the simplicity of this recipe. It will be my go-to for sure.

I seem to remember her sprinkling a very tiny bit of cinnamon or allspice on her Mac/Cheese and I believe her Lasagna right before baking. Does that sound right?
You are going to bring some serious holiday cheer with this recipe, I promise! I would like to believe that you might be referring to paprika but it could’ve very well been nutmeg too as I have seen that done in several pasta dishes, but only just a little!
No not yet. Had to buy a couple more ingredients so it will probably be in a day or so. We’re already signed up to bring this dish to Thanksgiving get together. I think TGCCook is right, it may be nutmeg in addition to the cinnamon. Just a very light pinch sprinkled on top before baking so it doesn’t overpower the dish.
@@ThatGirlCanCook_how much dijon would i use to substitute the ground mustard? i was gonna use another recipe but after seeing yours i think i’m do yours instead 😂 the other recipe also called for dijon so i already bought it but don’t know how much i should substitute it for.
I would recommend that you prepare it and then wait to bake it until you’re ready to serve it! Same bake time if refrigerated and if frozen, add an additional 10-15 minutes covered! 💕💕

That sounds like a great idea. Much cheaper than heavy cream too. I don't see why it wouldn't work.
