The Best Ever Version and adaptation made! 1995 - Beautifully and Perfectly done. Magnificent actors with their very high level of excellence in portraying all their roles individually and collaborating as group performance overall is superb! The soundtrack and costumes were masterly done and magnificent which bring us to the regency era enormously and undeniably the best and great experience and feelings while watching this masterpiece interpretation of the great Ms. Jane Austen literary masterpiece of all time. Loving it so much and watching repeatedly the whole series almost everyday! Well done to all and hope to find similar story in the near future! Magnificent and Superb Adaptation!! Thank You so much!!
Yes, they went all out in regency such stature of entertainment for sure. Theatre that captured that quality to do justice to Austen's work's. Indeed our pleasure was paramount in the eyes of the cast, producers, director & all others. How fortunate all of us.
Mrs. Bennett’s mood changes are hysterical 😂 She goes from practically cursing Bingley’s name and wishing to never meet him to crying tears of joy and squealing in delight when she hears that they will get to meet him
I recently watched this and really like it even though I didn't understand some of the conversation between Darcy and Elizabeth 😅 I enjoyed the chemistry between them. 💕The mother is overly dramatic. 🤦♀
I find both charming. The tv version has excelled at being faithful to the novel; unfortunately, some book scenes do not translate well onto film. The movie has a phenomenal pace, score, and cinematography, but at times it is too explicit at portraying the character’s desires. I appreciate both for what they are, two distinct works of art having many merits and minor flaws of their own right.
@@alcyonae The 2005 movie is cute, it's well acted and has some beautiful scenes... but it's definitely NOT Austen. It uses a lot of "romantic" clichés Austen would have parodied the hell out of. Keira is beautiful and sassy, but too unladylike, and Darcy is... well, they have very cute adorkable moments, and the movie itself is good. It's just not Austen, and not a good adaptation, though it's a cute romantic movie. The thing is, the book is much deeper and it includes social criticism, the ethic of everyday life, philosophical musings and an interesting description of society. The BBC series is the gold standard for book adaptations. It's the BEST book adaptation I've ever had the pleasure to see. The movie is beautiful, and cute. It's just not Austen. But like Clueless or Bride and Prejudice, it's an interesting twist on the original.
In the earlier BBC version I think done in 1980, Elizabeth isn’t pretty enough and Darcy isn’t handsome enough in that version. That made it hard to imagine a great romance with those cast choices. In the later Movie from Hollywood they don’t portray the Bennett’s as well Off as the book seems to show, Pigs and chickens walking through the front yard, bare feet and mud everywhere. The Bennett’s had at least 3 female maids inside the home and a groom outside greeting the coach’s that arrives and probably a cook. Keira is pretty but her hair often looks unkempt and Mr. Darcy needs his hair washed, cut and combed. Plus he isn’t as handsome as Keira Knightly is pretty, Plus they totally changed the Final proposal. The scenes are beautiful but not enough to fix the movie.

Nope....although it's nicely done, this is NOT the "best version".... The very first thing that they got wrong was who they chose for Elizabeth. She looked too old. The acting was fine, but it was difficult for me to get past seeing her as young Lizzy, when she looked more like a 30 year old. Kira's version was much better in the acting, costumes, and the cast, in general.
She was 24 when filming this version in 1994, but it has nothing to do with how she looks or old she is, most importantly is how she can convince the audiences to play as Elizabeth with her acting, and I think she did it very well. The casting team probably also considered the fact that people in the past looked much older than their actual age.

Don't know why this is left off most videos of this version.
Too many Ladies :)
if anyone thinks that the film is better than the 1995 tv version has gotta be something wrong with them or there sheep
kiltedjohn1000 agree!

kiltedjohn1000 The BBC 1980 version was the best. Truer to the book as far as mood and characters.

Always hated lydia and mrs Bennett
@@frnimay easily deceived she wasnt fucking everything she seen but oh yeah given into to much.
Yeah mrs. Bennet is just a little to shrill for my liking. Her cackly voice just grates on my nerves. The 2005 Mrs. Bennet is much better
No it’s not
Pspspsps
Very bad copy.
This version is not faithful to Jane Austin’s book like the Colin Firth version.
Lady, THIS IS the Colin Firth Version
Oh yeah
Firths Darcy😄💜😍😻💃👏👏👏
Colin...
Faithful to character
Darcy...😉💜😊😎🎊

Lovd
Jen.she too gud
Brilliant in fact
Jennifer Ehle doesn't look old to me. She was quite young when they made it as I recall, too. She is just bustier than Keira Knightly.
