Brothers, have you seen this man's lower back with a pump? It's so massive from his Jefferson curls and straight legged deadlifts that it looks like it has abs. Craziest lower back I've ever seen on anyone
Atlas was the main inspiration in my picking up Jefferson curls. I started with 5lbs, yesterday I did 220 for 10 reps. Next Monday I graduate to 2 plates!

Hey Alex, just a tip from a video editor. Since youre facing to the left you should place yourself on the right side of the split screen. It will look better and more natural like you're facing your interviewee.
“Not everyone is gonna have narrow hips and wide shoulders” Thankfully our boy Hemingway, with his relatively narrow hips, doesn’t have to worry about such things.
Truly a specimen of a man. 500 pound reverse grip bench press, bigger than Serge Nubret and Ryback, all while being a mercenary/oil rig worker is a major feat. PS: not bald
As a 40 something lifter since 13 I can confirm the older you get the worse you feel is garbage. I feel better in my 40s than I did in my 30s and it’s just shy of my best physique from when I was in my early 20s
@@AlexLeonidas That was more of a horsecock odd lift era, and by that I mean you used any oddlift that let you use more weight. I'd love to see you do other "lighter" oddlifts like jefferson curls or zercher deadlifts, as they probably have way more utility for a normal lifter than jefferson deadlifts.
Got to say im loving these interviews alex, the fitness industry needs more of this, i tune in and watch these every time, the one with Eguene was excellent i already followed him before but i'd never heard of fazlifts before unfortunately the algorithm hadn't sent me any of his videos before, just want to say this because i know the content might not get the same numbers as your other stuff due to the long format but it is very much appreciated by those of us who like this content, phenomenal questions asked!
32:00 If I would’ve known and followed that advice at the beginning of my lifting journey it could’ve saved me years of progress. First year in the gym I f’ed my low back up bad deadlifting, which prevented me from squatting or deadlifting for 2 years bc I couldn’t do it without pain. Next 2 years were spent catching my legs up to my upper body lol. Any noobies reading this, I highly recommend taking that advice and start with Jefferson curls. My low back has never felt better since including them into my program a little over a year ago
I’d love to see you put your interviews on podcast platforms like Apple, Spotify, etc… Would be awesome to listen to things like this during my commutes.
Awesome colab, found atlas as well as faz recently and a couple weeks later they’re both on the pod. My three go to resources for natural lifting right now, love the emphasis on strength and progression while not totally overlooking the benefits of volume and promoting a high intensity approach. Went high intensity very low volume for the past year and made 0 progress. Running Faz’s Jacked Intellectual right now and finally seeing the needle move again as a 15+ year lifter.
The Bells of Steel cable tower is a 2:1 ratio, 1:1 if you connect the cables. I’m pretty sure the cable machine you saw GVS using is 3:1, possibly even 4:1 which is sometimes used on commercial equipment. So he’s probably not mogging you by *that* much, lol.
Regarding weights for calisthenic skills: Do weighted pull ups for the one arm pull up Do Zanetti press for back lever, planche, and Maltese (gymnasts actually do this)
Surprised there was no mention of bent press, side press, overhead walks, Turkish getups those kind of lifts. Classic old school stuff that atlas does that I'm sure is valuable that no one does anymore.
Should try and get these in Apple Podcasts or podcasting apps. Would be great and expand your reach probably at not much cost and make it slightly easier for me to listen to while I drive at work haha Thanks for your work.
Here’s a tip for calf’s. After maxing out for 20+ reps with 500 pounds, my donkey calf machine was done. I switched to single leg donkey calf raises and all of sudden gains. Steady gains for the first time in years. Give it a try guys.

The donkey Calf raises are in there. I just put up a free workout on the Ganbaru Method App called "Yes, Your Calves Can Actually Grow" that has detailed tutorials.
Somewhere around 2018 when I turned forty, my testosterone came up low on my blood tests, so I started taking TRT. The other side of that is that my triglycerides were way high and my A1C came back at 9.7%. I started working on my metabolic health and my triglycerides and blood sugar are way better. On top of that, my total testosterone is now in the 600s. And I only did TRT for less than a year.
