Back in the 1990s, there were campaigns from religious parents and churches advising against video games for having any bad language or such themes as they thought it was 'satanic.' Now, apparently those same people cloaked themselves in pink hair and rainbow flags and are praised as being the golden beacon of tolerance and are getting video games downscaled in terms of fun and joking nature. I thought youth was about having uncomformity, especially in the video gaming culture.

@@yourt00bz P2P means that there are no dedicated servers for the game located at specified places IRL. The game basically creates an instance (copy of game world) for X amount of people, I think GTA is 24, and then randomly chooses one player's system to temporarily host a server on. Then everyone else has to connect directly to that player's system to access that server instance. This means that there will be many connection problems that can't really be fixed because it relies on the infrastructure provided by the players which can't be controlled. It also opens you up to getting your IP sniped and your network getting attacked. IIRC Bungie's Destiny is notorious for people just DDoSing players in PvP when they start losing.

Rockstar has not even acknowledged the existence of GTA6 let alone announced or shown anything.
It reminds me of call of duty WWII being culturally sensitive as well.. online you had like 100 different uniforms and skins for the Allies but whenever you wanted to play as a German they literally only had default skins.. I also felt like that game was just like an add-on like Battlefield 1 was in the story mode and spent most of their time on online. Same with the more modern cods that are all Battle Royale with hardly any story mode at all (CoD BoPs 4, MW, MW2)
God its no wonder why I hardly pay attention to western games like GTA and COD, and why I am such a big fan of FromSoftware games now because of the passion put behind Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Elden Ring etc.

I remember when GTA V came out, there was a quote circulating that supposedly came from Rockstar’s CEO:
“Our target demographic are teens who smoke weed in their parents attic.”
This quote was circulating, to show how Rockstar really understood who they were trying to appeal to, in comparison to other companies who were always very vague with their target audience.
Compare that to Rockstar, now. Do you think that’s still their target demographic? Would they even be willing to lie and say that?

@@GuMpAkC You're wrong. This just enables other developers to make GTA clones without being scrutinized by the majority for being copycats. Legitimately, in a way this is very good for the broader progress of gaming as a whole. GTA was a legendary franchise, but it will set an example for other developers. No franchise is strong enough to withstand wokification. It kills every property it touches, and Rockstar is going to become a textbook example of that if they don't take proper care of GTA 6.
edit: I suppose it's possible GTA 7 could be better than 6 hypothetically, but that's only if the company reacts to the market rejecting their product. Too early to say if that will happen. It's such a renown intellectual property, so it's possible namesake alone will make it perform well, but that doesn't mean it will review positively.
I replayed GTA5 about a year ago and was listening to the in game news on the radio and was saddened by the fact satire in 2013 that you thought would be ridicules if it actually happened is now common and considered normal nowadays.
The satire on VCPR in GTA: Vice City aged well.
That's partly the problem though - you *can't* come up with *anything* more ridiculous than what the cultural establishment already demands we believe. Not to mention you're not allowed to satirize anything that actually deserves to be satirized anymore.

It's almost like parents don't even consider the rating of a game before they hand it off to little billy, but that's not their fault.

They're age guidelines most of the time, which means the onus is on the parents to ask whether their children/teens are able to handle playing X game or not.
If a child goes out and carjacks after playing gta v that means those parents abdicated their responsibility.
You're not smart as a parent if you let your kid play GTA when they're younger than 11. They won't understand any of the adult content, and it will confuse them.

A close friend of mine makes machinimas in GTA V. He has access to all the peds and can place them and animate them to create his own little films. One day, he told me saw that the peds that are jokes on transgender people were removed. That was the first red flag for us.

I regret there was never another one that took place in the UK in the 70s. It's the odd duck in the bunch, but at least it differed from the others in time period and setting. Vice City and SA continued the tradition, but the pattern ended.
