Well a positive obturator sign and as well a positive psoas sign are not always sign of appendicitis . It can be a sign of inflamation-myositis or strain of the iliaopsoas muscle .The positivity of obturator sign should be taken in the context of other symptoms that pertain to the GI tract : nausea , vomits constipation/diarrhoea, also general sptms/signs such as fever in order to set a diagnosis of appendicitis .Loved the presentation
It is confusing because the leg is moving 'externally'. However, when you move the leg into this external position, it actually closes up the gap in the hip joint - thus, this is internally rotating at the hip joint.
+Nadiah Noor Azman bringing the leg out laterally rotates the femur internally at the hip joint. I think she did internal rotation correctly in this video, but I'm a student and may be wrong
Poor Tom. He has every disease humanly possible
She provides excellent explanations and demonstrations. Best videos on TH-cam for these PE signs. Thank you!

is it the same if you move the leg to the middle line of the body?
Nice video! A bit robotic in the delivery :) but otherwise useful. Thanks!
the unbroken eye contact should be checked out
Shouldn't the patient be positioned into a left decubitus position for this test?
we should flex the knee and hip joint 90 degree ! anyway thanks :)
este signo puede indicar apendicitis aguda o un absceso pélvico
Thanks for the video!:) But doesn't it say that we have to flex at the knee by 90 degrees? And rotate the hip internally and externally?
informative

just wondering, she did external rotation of the hip instead of internal rotation, am I right? correct me if i'm wrong. thanks anyway! :)
+Nadiah Noor Azman No, the video is correct - she is internally rotating the hip joint.
+Nadiah Noor Azman No that was an internal rotation
I am confused with the same thing!

Ahora bien, este signo indica un apéndice en posición pélvica....
no, el signo indica un apéndice inflamado, con la necesidad de sacarlo.
pretty medical student.
presentation is bad , learn to show some expressions or hand signs , keeping your tone constantly will make the vid bored
just advice no hate tho
