Very interesting build! We’ve just embarked on building a giant Furby, but ours is going to be based on the 2005/6 version, rather than a Furby Boom, and will only be about half the size of yours. The 2005/6 was the only version with voice recognition & well be using a voice recognition module.
James' video should have been the first video in the playlist. He spent the most time explaining the whole TH-cam secret Santa concept and introducing everyone. some of the other videos just started with no introduction.
Nooooo that's the creepiest model Furby ever! When I took mine apart in 2012, it was extremely grumpy and kept "vomiting". 😆 The newest one is much cuter-- I just did a teardown on my channel. Your giant Furby turned out great, James!
Thank you for not mentioning out loud that the project files were on your github. My wife threatened me (more accurately, my 3d printer) when she heard the video was about making a giant Furby. 😂👍 Keep making them world a better place!
Watching this make me realise why scott from kentucky ballistics doesnt like furbies and always ends up destroying them when he has them in his videos 😂
I’m kinda sad I’ve completed the loop. But kinda glad it ended on a video from a creator I wasn’t aware of. I love the channel so far. The furby was pretty friggin cool.
I love how aggressively you pet the furry in the beginning This is the kind of stuff I want to make once I get my hands on a 3d printer and I get some engineering knowhow
Every year I watch the Playlist backwards. It makes more sense, watching a present being made AFTER you see/receive it. Purposely ruining your own surprise isn't my style.
Hey James, I just wanted to drop a "kudos" here for continually disclosing your sponsorships. There is that new hot 3D printing company that is obviously going around and supplying TH-camrs with tons of equipment so that their printers stay in the spotlight with neither party disclosing the sponsored relationship and it is making the TH-cam "maker" community feel scummy. It's ultra nice to come here and hear you be open and honest about your sponsors. Keep up the amazing work.
Thank you for bringing back the horrors of my childhood. Prepare to be tormented by the Giant Demon Furby.... Btw they eyes on that thing just suddenly going in opposite directions was a nice touch.
The fact this is reborn from an old project's eyes means you could honestly call this a zombie Furby, which is a fitting addition to the horror of Furby
I love Maker Secret Santa! And with this one, my circle is complete. This giant Furby is definitely cursed. It's ridiculous and I love it! Thanks for sharing!
James you are my hero. What you create is what I want to but never find the time with homeschooling and family duty. Absolutely incredible and a joy to watch. So many of my nic nacks get used then become old so fast. Secret Santa is my yearly release to see the brilliant brains of those who are able to fully use them. Thank you.
It's a creative secret Santa gift, but I'm glad I'm a senior adult, as the idea of a giant furby reminds me of the late night horror films of decades ago like the killer puppets or demonic toys.
You know how when you spin a coin on a flat surface and nearing the end of the spin it is nearly laying horizontally and starts doing rapid wobbles aka Euler's Disk? Maybe you could build some sort of hover craft, or something that uses one or more of these wobbling disks to move around.
Great project! I am just worried with the 3D printing designs. It seems like they need a lot of filament to print. Maybe some modifications could reduce filament quantity and print time, while still providing enough strength.
I forgot about the secret Santa thing for a bit and just saw the thumbnail and thought "oh god why have you made a giant Furby" This makes more sense now. 8:00 Elmo perfectly embodies my reaction to this monstrosity XD
how did you know james, the way to my heart was with an oversized furby. its truly amazing thanks!!! what a project
But where is your video?
@@ClearwaterKB huh? its in the secret santa vid, the last one that went up
@LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER it's so weird, when I posted that, I didn't see the video. But, it is there now. 🤷♀️ youtube is weird.
75 £ limit, and any animatronic company would have charged someone about 6 to 10 grand for it. 😅
@@intosound913 indeed! but james doesn't charge himself :D
The furby inside a furby is as cursed as it should be 100/10 would have this in my living room
It's open source so you can make your own!
One day, you must make a colossal furby,@@jamesbruton. Continue the cycle.
@@jamesbruton I just want to know if this new project can have animated LCD (Liquid-Crystal-Display) globe-eyes. I just want to know.
Pink zebra print was definitely the right choice
my beautiful wrapping job, bamboozled by german customs :P ENJOY CARBON FIBER IRON MAN sorry it still smelled like lacquer!
Thanks Xyla
@@jamesbruton economy of words😂
Just seeing the helmet on video really doesn't do justice to all the awesome work you put into it!
German customs? I always thought James Bruton is a brit :O
@@TecSanentoDHL is a German shipping company
I have to think those broken glass sounds as you shook the box must have given Xyla a heart attack.
This is amazing and simultaneously deeply disturbing. That huge Firby lurching forward is the stuff nightmares are made of.
I was hoping you'd use that beefy speaker to give it a deep, booming voice that still says normal furby stuff
Like Thomas Farrow?
There is something horrific about a half dead skinless furby inside a large mech suit furby. I like it.
It's a furby dreadnaught...
it’s like if mr. house piloted a large robotron. if he were, i probably would’ve chosen to do his bidding
As if Furby wasn't cursed enough (I remember taking the batteries out of one and throwing it down the stairs while it continued talking).

I never thought I'd relate to a Furby, but grumpy and vomiting is just how I'd react to being taken apart.
@@endlesswanderer1753 😆
I like how car central locking motors have shown up in 2 maker secret santa videos so far.
Thank you for not mentioning out loud that the project files were on your github. My wife threatened me (more accurately, my 3d printer) when she heard the video was about making a giant Furby. 😂👍 Keep making them world a better place!

I love the fact that you’re not the only person in this Secret Santa to use car central door locking actuators.
I LAUGHED HARD WHEN I NOTICED IT hahah
The forged carbon fiber helmet looks amazing!
This was a perfectly conceptualized and executed gift. One of if not my favorite Christmas build of perhaps any year. Well done.
I’m kinda sad I’ve completed the loop. But kinda glad it ended on a video from a creator I wasn’t aware of. I love the channel so far. The furby was pretty friggin cool.
The original battery layout it had was kinda fun. I've never seen a compartment like that.
I never thought I would see James sewing pink zebra print fur. Such a lot of work went into this.
a neat MK2 feature might include Becky Stern's clock feature, following eyes if its not in a talking mood.
I love how aggressively you pet the furry in the beginning
This is the kind of stuff I want to make once I get my hands on a 3d printer and I get some engineering knowhow
I love the humunculus Furbie! Brilliant and lifts the creepiness factor to a whole new quantum level! Great work!
the way the large furbys eyes drift apart, so creepy, love it
When it made eye contact 👀 my soul left my body.
Every year I watch the Playlist backwards. It makes more sense, watching a present being made AFTER you see/receive it. Purposely ruining your own surprise isn't my style.
I love this time of year. This is the first maker video I watched for this year's swap. I always find new makers to follow from these.
I doubt you’ve ever watched his channel James, but I’m sure Kentucky ballistic would love a giant furbie. He’d look after it real well
Maker Secret Santa sponsored by car door lock motors this year :P. They look like a fun widget, I need to come up with a project to use some now!

The most furby thing I've seen since the original, bravo
Just when I get overwhelmed by all the work he's got to do, he says "There's not much to it really". The man is a machine.
"Choose the form of the Destructor!"
What did you do, James? James?!?!?
Fun fact: With the Furby's forward facing eyes, it is technically a predator! 😳
I hope you find a nice sunny spot to display that beautiful gift!
it’s so cursed. i love it
The idea of a Kuato Furby is great
I’m not kidding when I say that is the most terrifying thing of this whole secret Santa, including Colin’s fire-fart pants
Animatronics is so much fun, nice work.
I've loved this series every year
Thank you for bringing back the horrors of my childhood. Prepare to be tormented by the Giant Demon Furby.... Btw they eyes on that thing just suddenly going in opposite directions was a nice touch.
"there's a bit of carbon fiber in there as well!" had me laughing
It just a bit. Just the entire helmet parts.. ;)
I do appreciate you dissecting it while it was still alive
WHAT IF... Krang from TMNT was a Furby instead? Thanks James, now we know. 😆
The fact this is reborn from an old project's eyes means you could honestly call this a zombie Furby, which is a fitting addition to the horror of Furby

woah! james as always make such amazing things! the fabric you choose is amazing!!!
This is exactly what I'm doing now - following the loop from Colin, because his video first popped out! 😂👍
I wish we’d seen James with an apron and a chefs hat on while taking the Furby apart!
Yay Makers Secret Santa is one of my favorite times of year

You were his perfect pick!!! Awesome
It going cross eyed is pretty funny lol
OMG THAT FURBY HAS A FURBY MECHA PILOT INSIDE
Careful with those shipping labels mate. There's some weirdos out there.
Wicked project.
13:41 "Carbon fiber here as well" yes exactly 😂
Love these annual Secret Santas!
Cool! Though I think you should have given the giant furby a deep bass voice. 😁
“Let’s see if we can skin it” he says casually
The fabric reminds me a bit of Diotor from Robot Wars, hopefully not as flammable though! Great build
Dude, you've created a Furby Gundam with a Furby pilot. Lol
Oh yeah, she made the Iron Man helmet out of forged carbon.
Hahaha that's exactly what I was thinking when I saw it.

Something out of a fever dream
This is awesome! Love your videos ❤️ will now do the rounds and watch all the other makers 👍 hope you and family have a great Christmas 🎁🎄🎉
Should also had eyes following you 😄
Maybe an idea for giant furby 2.0? Three meter edition!
You made a true Lovecraftian horror. I love it!
The end result reminds me of the Arquillian Ambassador in Men In Black.
How does the original furby react when you drop kick it into a wall, which I feel is my first instinct on viewing the horrendous monstrosity!
Its funny how colin used the same car actuators in his project
Awesome!!! I wish I had one
You've made a beast to uncontrollable by man.
You should include Seamstressed in the exchange next year!
Excellent design and execution! It's my first time coming across your channel too!
After listening to that voice for a few seconds, I got some degree of satisfaction every time you said "skin a furbie". lol!
this looks very cool! I feel like an oversized furby would have a deeper voice tho
Absolutely fucking terrifying 😮
Very cool, James!!!
Really love the fur by for look mum no computer it’s incredible 😍😍😍😍
Sam is going to love this!!!
At least shipping should be easier!
Santa decided to take it in person
Love all your Creations James but this Furby is 😂
it's just as unnerving and earsplitting as a real furby, well done

the pink furby got scared while its batteries got removed screaming "no! why are you--" @ 1:52
1:54 did i hear "uhhh ooooo why are you"

Solid engineering on the Furby btw.
It looks more like that the dancing was something that he forced.
@@thomgizziz C'mon don't be a party pooper.

Love it! It's like Krang from TMNT! :D
This is how a Furby gundam would look like if Furbies could make them
Love the engineering
A FURBY MECHA!!! Since it's "oversized", I would have made the voice a deeper, menacing, Mongo kinda voice. :D
Thought you was going to have benders eyes
Was sad but now I want to know If they screw in like bulbs in true fashion
That’s amazing!

I can’t believe you chose the newer furby type.
removing batteries from a furby "THAT'S BETTER"
Absolutely brilliant, I just keep wanting to comment on your video. You are simply brilliant.
This is super creepy and awesome!
Kentucky ballistics spends so much time shooting furbies with bigger and bigger guns and you have to go and make a giant one lol
