Great conversation about digital. Lots of things you have experienced and thoughts on solutions. Some great ideas. I enjoyed the episode and the wobblepops during.
Great video guys!! A lot of great interesting and important topics were discussed today. Joe I totally get you about when you talked about damage being on and you don’t want everyone running around the track etc….you could stop the race as you have done and as Pete mentioned whoever caused the caution you can assign a 2 , or 5 second penalty. Then start back up and that driver has to make a pit stop for the penalty but cannot fuel or they will have e to come back in and serve the penalty. Even if it happens at the end of a race it is what it is.
Also, I get with the limited space we have around the track. I have my track setup in 1 of my single car garages so trust me I know the feeling. I’m still figuring out scenarios as well. My pit lane does not count laps as I had it on other side from start/finish line. But just got done moving out lane aligned straight across from start/ finish line and programmed for to start counting laps. I’m now gonna be working on the smart race pit lane speeding penalty and figure out the delta time that will work most realistically.
Yeah - it’s the same for 1:32 … if you have 2 lanes and 1 car goes off with single power for both lanes 1 lane will get a burst of power. I’d think the same thing happens for digital too…
Pete I have double pit lanes as long as you have room inside of your track should be ok. Another single pit lane doesn’t add to much width to the inside. But I know a lot have tons of scenery so that could be an issue.
The design I am going to try has three different pits nested into the main pit. Once I am back home for more than a day or two at a time I will share my plan for some feedback.
@@Show-MeSlotCars sounds good bro. Be looking forward to seeing your design. My pit lane entry track piece is malfunctioning. The gate is not fully opening at times or it’s opening to slow. Causing my cars to D slot. Very annoying. So for now til I receive my other pitlanes I’m gonna have to go back to a single lane pit stop. I havent had any issues with the other pit lane entry track piece so should be fine for now .
@@Show-MeSlotCars whenever you get around to it hopefully it’s an easy fix. I’m surprised no videos are up on fixing this issue or if it’s even fixable.
Finally got around to watching this episode. It was good but missing the spontaneity of the live show. I don’t have a pit lane, Bluetooth dongle and no way to count laps. Only me making laps with ghost cars on a temporary track. Someday soon I’ll be a normal slot car racer 😂
@@Show-MeSlotCars This is a good show and it gets me up every other Saturday morning before the crack of dawn, just need to have the coffee maker set to start before I do 😂
For some reason, Carrera only includes pit lane programming in starter kits and digital control units. Here are the instructions: It is possible to activate/deactivate the lap counting function in the Pit Lane 30356 or Pit Stop Lane 30346 with the Pit Stop Adapter Unit 30361. Switch off the Control Unit, keep “SPEED” button 5 ) pushed, switch on Control Unit and release “SPEED” button 5 . By pushing the button again, 1 or 2 LEDs will light depending on the setting. • LED 1 = lap counting function deactivated • LED 1 + 2 = lap counting function activated Select the desired setting and push or drive a car across the Pit Lane Sensor, fig. 5 . The settings will now be adopted. Push “START/ENTER” 3 for leaving the settings again. ------FROM PAGE 14 of the GB USA Digital Control Unit instuctions ------Additional languages are availalbe here: carrera-toys.com/en/operating-instructions Per my own testing, these also work: 3 LEDs lit will act as sector 1 + fueling So I assume this works as well: 4 LEDs lit will act as sector 2 + fueling 5 LEDs lit will act as sector 3 + fueling
In the smartrace connect app go to settings then for the stop button choose "centered" this makes the whole screen a stop button
This is an incredible discovery for me! Changes the game for sure! Thanks for the tip!

This is the way!
Very interesting!🏁

You are much deeper into SmartRace than I am!

I am sure it does, haven't experienced it dramatically enough to notice, but I am sure it has happened

I have the same thing happening with one of my lane changes. I need to open it up and see if I can fix it.

The plan is to only pre-record an episode when we both have prior commitments. Shouldn't be too often!

I have a spot I set up for a pace car opposite of the start, but haven’t figured out how to get that specific pit to not count a lap
There is a way to turn off the pit sensors for laps. The instructions should be in the manual.

Yay back in the , both of you come on by(you too Joe)
You can find all of the manuals online.

I knew it needed more juice, just wasn't sure how much! Thanks for the tip!
My wife is going north for Labor Day and schemes are forming for while she is gone!!!
Planning ahead!
Couldn't you test a spike with a meter?
That would be too easy!
Wait, Joe, so you have to try to cheat to beat Jen. C'mon Puddin!
"cheating"
New people.....this is the car, this is the controller, this makes it go, this makes it stop, and step away. They need to learn how to drive 1st.
Enjoyed the show guys 😊but it's all too confusing for me .ile stick to analog and call buttons 🤭🫡
That's the easiest way to solve all of these problems!
