That yard came up great Doc. Horses for courses with deck size hey. Just have to match with the properties you mow. My Bobcat 42 inch covers all bases for me - small resi to larger properties. Small deck can do larger properties, but the larger deck can't do the smaller ones. Cheers Mate. 💯👊💪😎

I have a 30, 44, 52 and a 60 inch mower. In my area I have many clients who have 4 foot gates so the 44 inch is great to get in the back gates and get things done quick. The 52 inch stand on Scag is great for almost all of my properties. It’s nimble and light but can cover a lot of ground. The 60 inch is my backup to the 52 inch and is the mower I use for big properties (1-3 acres). The 30 inch push mower is for 3 foot gates and people who want their yard push mowed. I think it’s best to have many mowers to choose from so you can take in any client and have back ups in case things go wrong.

One other thing to consider if you’re just starting out is that usually with the less expensive models of mowers you’re not getting the same horsepower options as the top-of-the-line stuff. What I mean is you might get better results with a 48 inch deck mower that has a 22 hp engine than say a 60 inch with that same motor. Especially with the thicker stuff as seen in this video. The sizes I mentioned are kind of irrelevant. It’s just the point that I’m trying to make but what do I know lol.
