Same here! An eye injury causes exactly what you described, plus peripheral vision issues, acuity, etc. I've had way too many eye injuries not to know how this affects someone's ability to perform.
I just watched the post game interview with the press and, of course, Coach Sides stuck to her old fashioned coaching philosophy saying, 'we just gotta' put in fifty points from the paint." B.S....the best games the Fever play is when everyone is hitting threes: move the ball around to the open man...and/or...do a screen and roll with Boston, something this game lacked.

No one on the Fever played well today. They were probably nervous but CC has been here before in college. The next game should be better Sides needs to use her time outs. Not sure why she doesn't use timeouts. Hope they learned from this and it will a better game.

Clark actually played pretty good just her shooting was really bad. Her passing was great even though her team was really bad with dumb turnovers. She had 3 steals and a block but none of them could shoot besides Dantas and Boston and sides is still clueless as a coach. She’s a dumbass for not playing a full game the last game of the year. She completely erased the momentum they were starting to get back. Half the team was just standing there waiting on off and def. Caitlin really needs to drive to the hoop more so defenders can’t play right up on her. N. Smith was more worried about her gf than her team and Sides can’t figure out how to use time outs and the refs are always against the fever.
They biggest problem is leaving 3-point shooters wide open to double a 2 pointer if yall 3's aint dropping then protect their 3 point line make them shoot 2's to keep yourself in the game they leave them wide TF open

Caitlin played thru with a eye injury. That didn`t help. Fact is when the Sun added Maybre made them a tougher polished game. Credit the Sun`s for their defense, their offense is polished where as the Fever needs another yr to be more of a polished team. hull really plays with tenacity. Good for her.

IMO, yes, the Fever was outplayed, outwitted, by Ct. Sun + coaching. The Fever really doesn't have a defense, just move faster on offense. But as season went on, teams figured out how to guard the Fever, so that games got harder for the Fever who still did not improve their defense.
I have had enough of this insanity. I have to stop watching the WNBA games. CC is being horribly abused by this league and it's players. CC should finish out this season and then go overseas and play. Because the WNBA dose not deserve her and all what she's doing for them. It is obvious that the Fever abandoned their offense and did not run their plays. Sides substitutions were obsurd. Everyone knows that when you shut Clark down, the rest of the team is lost. Several times, Clark passed the ball at the top of the key but, unlike Boston, Dantis had no idea what to do with it. Caitlin kept calling for the ball back but was ignored. Sides needs to understand that taking two of your big three out of the game, at the same time, blows up the offensive scheme. Don't look to Wheeler to run plays, when she just likes to run around and dribble out the clock. Caitlin has been getting lazy when she is opposite the ball. She needs to move and cause the defensive to anticipate her moves, in order to free up the rest of the offense. All season, Indiana has played terrible defense but save themselves by scoring. They fail to guard the back side, on defense, and let opposing players just dribble down the lane, rather than stopping them at the key. Horrible game for the Fever. Connecticut looks like a real playoff contender. Indiana looked like they were lost all night. Sides needs to coach a better game. True, she is not on the floor, but she needs to keep her team focused and slow them down when they need to regroup. You should never leave timeouts on the table. Indiana can win a game here, but they need to focus. This next game is do or die. I would love to see a third game at Indiana. So would their fans.

If you re-watch the party where Caitlin Clark gets her eye poked, you can clearly see that it was intentional. Look how Carrington folds her fingers and aims them into her eye.
Mitchell today was not doing what she normally does. When the Fever get a defensive board or inbounds pass, the ball goes to CC & she runs it up the court while Mitchell is off & running - filling a lane. spoting up, getting a backdoor pass, etc from CC. Today Mitchell put her head down and ignored CC & brought it up herself. CC ended up on the weakside trailing plays while her man stayed glued to her. We had no pace and the ball wasn't moving. Coach Sides needed to address this with Mitchell - "hey let's do what got us here, get it to CC & let's run". No idea why Mitchell felt the need to do it herself. Additionally she turned it over 4 times (ave 1.6) while trying to do what she normally does not do. I was bummed & surprised and I'm sure CC was a well.
The fact that CC and the fever are in the playoffs is huge. I remember Kobe’s rookie mistakes in the Lakers playoff that led to the Lakers not going to the next round.. you have to expect even the greats fail in the playoffs before winning a championship.. the fact that as a rookie she was a main reason why they are here is the effect of her greatness and what’s to come!

It pretty much went the way I thought as the last few weeks I've been saying Good D shuts down the Offense.....Now, you are not going to want to hear this next. I think they are going out the next game. Why? I said this before. Playoff basketball is more physical. Solid defense stops good offense. The Fever DO NOT play defense. The Sun D was tough and took Caitlin and the Fever right out of their game. Plus, Coach Sides does not have the answers. Give me a break. Caitlin never complains about anything, even when she should be at the police station filing charges. Let’s ‘see’ how well you could play blind and in pain. I don’t know how she couldn’t help being head-shy going forward, but she’s pretty brave. It’s also tough when your own coach is against you and your team.

Same here! An eye injury causes exactly what you described, plus peripheral vision issues, acuity, etc. I've had way too many eye injuries not to know how this affects someone's ability to perform.
I just watched the post game interview with the press and, of course, Coach Sides stuck to her old fashioned coaching philosophy saying, 'we just gotta' put in fifty points from the paint." B.S....the best games the Fever play is when everyone is hitting threes: move the ball around to the open man...and/or...do a screen and roll with Boston, something this game lacked.

today. They were probably nervous but CC has been here before in college. The next game should be better Sides needs to use her time outs. Not sure why she doesn't use timeouts. Hope they learned from this and it will a better game.

Clark actually played pretty good just her shooting was really bad. Her passing was great even though her team was really bad with dumb turnovers. She had 3 steals and a block but none of them could shoot besides Dantas and Boston and sides is still clueless as a coach. She’s a dumbass for not playing a full game the last game of the year. She completely erased the momentum they were starting to get back. Half the team was just standing there waiting on off and def. Caitlin really needs to drive to the hoop more so defenders can’t play right up on her. N. Smith was more worried about her gf than her team and Sides can’t figure out how to use time outs and the refs are always against the fever.

I played basketball in college and Ive been poked in the eye. It blurred me and truthfully I couldnt play the rest of the game. I cant believe she couldnt have been bothered. I guess it depends on where she got poked. Im just CC got her back by knocking her in her eye. CC is going to take that crap to much longer. They will stop hurting her intentionally when she fights back within the game. Stay strong CC

Caitlin played thru with a eye injury. That didn`t help. Fact is when the Sun added Maybre made them a tougher polished game. Credit the Sun`s for their defense, their offense is polished where as the Fever needs another yr to be more of a polished team. hull really plays with tenacity. Good for her.
Nobody is say anything about Mabrey slapping the ball out of Wheelers hands when she was out of bounds and there was no call.I thought that was an automatic technical foul.
IMO, yes, the Fever was outplayed, outwitted, by Ct. Sun + coaching. The Fever really doesn't have a defense, just move faster on offense. But as season went on, teams figured out how to guard the Fever, so that games got harder for the Fever who still did not improve their defense.
I have had enough of this insanity. I have to stop watching the WNBA games.
CC is being horribly abused by this league and it's players. CC should finish out this season and then go overseas and play. Because the WNBA dose not deserve her and all what she's doing for them. These folks are just mean and willing to take her eye out and permanently injure her, - why for what reason are they doing these things? It is obvious that the Fever abandoned their offense and did not run their plays. Sides substitutions were obsurd. Everyone knows that when you shut Clark down, the rest of the team is lost. Several times, Clark passed the ball at the top of the key but, unlike Boston, Dantis had no idea what to do with it. Caitlin kept calling for the ball back but was ignored. Sides needs to understand that taking two of your big three out of the game, at the same time, blows up the offensive scheme. Don't look to Wheeler to run plays, when she just likes to run around and dribble out the clock. Caitlin has been getting lazy when she is opposite the ball. She needs to move and cause the defensive to anticipate her moves, in order to free up the rest of the offense. All season, Indiana has played terrible defense but save themselves by scoring. They fail to guard the back side, on defense, and let opposing players just dribble down the lane, rather than stopping them at the key. Horrible game for the Fever. Connecticut looks like a real playoff contender. Indiana looked like they were lost all night. Sides needs to coach a better game. True, she is not on the floor, but she needs to keep her team focused and slow them down when they need to regroup. You should never leave timeouts on the table. Indiana can win a game here, but they need to focus. This next game is do or die. I would love to see a third game at Indiana. So would their fans.

If you re-watch the party where Caitlin Clark gets her eye poked, you can clearly see that it was intentional. Look how Carrington folds her fingers and aims them into her eye.
Mitchell today was not doing what she normally does. When the Fever get a defensive board or inbounds pass, the ball goes to CC & she runs it up the court while Mitchell is off & running - filling a lane. spoting up, getting a backdoor pass, etc from CC. Today Mitchell put her head down and ignored CC & brought it up herself. CC ended up on the weakside trailing plays while her man stayed glued to her.
We had no pace and the ball wasn't moving.
Coach Sides needed to address this with Mitchell - "hey let's do what got us here, get it to CC & let's run". No idea why Mitchell felt the need to do it herself. Additionally she turned it over 4 times (ave 1.6) while trying to do what she normally does not do.

The fact that CC and the fever are in the playoffs is huge. I remember Kobe’s rookie mistakes in the Lakers playoff that led to the Lakers not going to the next round.. you have to expect even the greats fail in the playoffs before winning a championship.. the fact that as a rookie she was a main reason why they are here is the effect of her greatness and what’s to come!

The league knows that if they take out or hinder Clark in any way then any team can beat the Fever. She is the nucleus of the team! The Fever can only go as far as Caitlin goes. The thing is if or when the Fever are knocked out of the playoffs then once again nobody will care about this league! It’s bad enough that she is playing against women that don’t like her, referees that look the other way when her eye gets poked on purpose and the whole league is just waiting for her to fall on her face! It’s a miracle that she still wants to be a part of this league! After everything she has been through this year she will never put blame on anybody except herself and no matter how many times they try to take her out, she will not give up because she loves the sport too much! Not only does she love basketball she is extremely good at it and keeps getting better every game!
It pretty much went the way I thought as the last few weeks I've been saying Good D shuts down the Offense.....Now, you are not going to want to hear this next. I think they are going out the next game. Why? I said this before. Playoff basketball is more physical. Solid defense stops good offense. The Fever DO NOT play defense. The Sun D was tough and took Caitlin and the Fever right out of their game. Plus, Coach Sides does not have the answers.
