seriously though, what up with the shells hitting a flat surface, then just disappearing? It happens to me so often and it doesnt seem like its an intentional feature, especially when their track eats it but takes no damage at all.
Volumetric issues where the game calculates an piece of armor wrong at certain angles. This often results in two thin plates being calculated as having upwards of 500mm of protection.
Volumetric armor. It isn't finished yet, and knowing Gaijin it won't be finished in like 2 years. How it's supposed to work is that the shells and the armor are modeled almost 1:1, meaning that a 75mm shell can't squeeze through a 30mm weak point. And that's great, however how it works right now is that if a shell hits 2 plates at the same time instead of measuring them separately they multiply each other. So if you are hitting two plates of 75mm with a shell that can penetrate 140, you should still be able to penetrate them both, however how it is right now is that they multiply each other making them 150mm. It is stupid and it has been a problem for a long time, yet Gaijin prefers to put resources into implementing jets that we won't be able to play for years because of the hell grind instead of fixing the dm game.

So please, have a bit of logic and understand that it would not change anything even if there wasn’t that gayijin moment.
show me a better game with atleast the same system of pen and + have a little arcade-ish gameplay with sim things, like I dont want to play DCS or MSM cuz I will have to know the meaning of each button and all

Once when I was in a match, I was chilling on a hill in my tank destroyer and a Panzer III stumbled over the edge and flew like 5 feet in the air and out of panic I shot him in the underbelly, the bullet went right through the ammunition, but of course, it wouldn't be war thunder without a starter tank getting a shell right through me and knocking out my crew in 1 hit
My most bruh situation was probably when i destroyed (i think) Churchill something by just shooting under tank. The shell casually annihilated whole armor and exploded 1 meter away from tank, and destroyed it by overpressure
If you don’t want any moments like these in your war thunder grind, then play ground arcade battles, because if you want to get tons of research points and silver lions just use a booster of any kind and you’ll get that leopard 1 in no time (in my opinion of course)
Imo AB is better for SL grind, while RB is better for RP grind. But the main advantage AB has over RB is there’s less helicopter bullshit in higher tiers
