- The Congregation of Holy Trinity ACK Church Kitengela has been left reeling after Reverend. David Matayos Lawi shattered their trust with a brazen display of deceit and Manipulation.
During the previous Sunday Service Rev. Lawi absconded with the Church offerings and Sped off totally disregarding the Church protocol, this left the worshippers in confusion and utter shock forcing them to lock down all the Church offices temporarily untill the matter is investigated.
Rev. Matayos is also alleged to have disregarded established church protocals, tossed democratic principles aside and has refused to conduct mandated Annual General Meetings and election. Instead he has handpicked his own cronies for key positions including the appointment of Peter Njenga a form four graduate as the treasurer and Celestine Maraka as the secretary without following the due process for appointment of Church officials.As other positions are filled without proper verification the Congregant’s voices are silenced and denied the opportunity to have an input in their own Church.
The Church’s school ranking in millions annually and with a recent land purchase worth 80 million reports reaching our news desk is that they fear the church properties are not in safe hands as Rev. Lawi is manipulating everything for his own personal gain.
Rev. Lawi’s tainted legacy looms large with past failures haunting his tenure at St. Lukes Namanga where there was bloodshed and people are still nursing wounds,St. Michael where congregants boycotted giving tithes and offerings until he left. Christ the King church where he was rejected due to financial mischief among other churches he served and left the congregants divided.
Attempts by the church elders and founders of the church to have a dialogue meeting with him fell on deaf ears despite trying for a while now.They are now calling on the relevant authorities and the leadership of the Anglican Church to investigate the matter keenly and with urgency.
