@@Americansale I still see 2 possible points of failure, causing a safety hazard: 1) keyswitches are electrical and they can short. The cover could come down and crush people still inside the hot tub. 2) The supports which hold it up are exposed to the elements and can fail over time. Even the safety section of the manual you linked says the setup can warp over time if left open for more than 12 hours. This is not a robust system if that is the case. Even if the electronics are in perfect condition, what is to stop a warped leg support from giving way and dropping the cover on people in the hot tub?
