This Stevie lady is a wonderful narrator. ❤️ perfect speed, clear, punctuation spot on, and beautiful voice. I wish there were awards for narrators. This lady deserves one. Thankyou from Australia 🇦🇺. 😊😊
Oh we loved listening to this story! My 91 year old Mother stayed up with me until 12:18 am to hear the whole book. Mom thinks this should become a movie, and I agree. Jennie Goutet, you are such a brilliant author, with perfect timing and suspence. 😢 Stevie Zimmerman is an amazing narrator, the best we have ever heard. Thank you both! ❤❤❤
Oh my this beautiful story is one I shall cherish always! Thank you so very much and the narrator too for bringing these lovely characters to life in my imagination! A pure delight & bless you always. 😊
you write in such a manner as to insure that all titles attached to your name will be on my "favorites" list. the twists created by personalities and circumstances carry me along hoping for the wrinkles to soon be removes. Thank you for graciously and generously sharing your talent in a format that is free of cost to the reader, yet required much cost, effort and time on your part. All respects, a fan from Dothan Alabama, USA
You can find Sally Britton's book on TH-cam. A Mistletoe Mismatch. Otherwise, either on kindle or paperback for the other three. Here is the order of the books: A Wish for Father Christmas, Laura Rollins A Sleigh Ride Kiss, Jen Geigle Johnson Mine Sally's A Tangle Wreath, Laura Beers
Thank you for sharing! I am legally blind and so grateful for this. It was superb. I can't wait to listen to more of your books. BTW, this book sucked me right in, and the narrator was fantastic. It will be on my Christmas Playlist indefinitely.
If anyone else is looking for Jennie Goutet books with Stevie narrating, may i suggest, The Christmas Foundling. Its a beautiful audiobook, i just finished it. 😊😊...
I enjoyed it. Sweet romance! I did however, want to shake the hero and heroine a time or two, but over all I enjoyed this Christmas story very much!! 4 stars!
What is this crazy parlor game- Hot cockles?!?! Was this real? I cannot believe something like this was ever appropriate! I don't want my children ever playing anything like that.😂
I believe you because you have done so much research to bring us this story. I liked learning about Christmas traditions before Victoria and Albert came on the scene. My modern thoughts are of panic- how to get so many Christmas gifts ready for all those people!😅 That parlor game is still just a scandal, as far as I am concerned. 🫣
This is my 2nd time through this story. I wanted something to listen to while I wrapped presents. I completely agree that Hot Cockles is beyond "too lively" and still completely unsuitable!!😂🎄 1815 was a wild time, I guess?!?!!! Thank you for this delightful story. It's just as perfect the second time around ❤
Hi Tamara, the purpose of the ads is to allow me to be compensated for my work - the hours of writing, then paying for editors, cover designer, narrator, etc. If you want to listen for free and without ads, you can do so on multiple library platforms.
I'm away from home right now and don't have my research but I remember it was something that modern day antibiotics would have cured. They just didn't have it yet. Sorry it lessened the romance aspect for you, though.
3/4s in. Can't stand Juliana. Miss Weld and Armitage have much more chemistry, but I have a feeling that's not the way it's going to go... She locked herself in her room AGAIN? Ugh, I can't do this. Sorry. It's so weird. Some of your books are my absolute favourite (I read a 100 books a year) but then some just completely miss the mark for me. Nothing wrong with the writing. Lovely stories, good writing, feel good emotions throughout, some humour and great narrator. But with this one specifically I suspect what's happening is that the initial story outline takes precedence over the natural growth of the relationships. I'm guessing you're a mix between a "gardener" and an "architect"? I think in this one the architect part interfered with the result. The plan is these two characters need to end up together. But they just didn't work for me personally. I see others here loved it, so clearly I'm in the minority. I will definitely be keeping my eye on your work :)
No worries - everyone has different tastes regarding which books they enjoy. I do notice though that most of the strong reactions I get are for my female characters who have the most need for growth. I rarely get the same strong reaction when the male character is the one who needs life's rebuke to whip him in shape. I might be wrong, but I suspect that some of my difficult female characters trigger some bad memories for the listener / reader and make it difficult to see them with compassion. :-)
It's inappropriate to refer to sex as the opposite of "clean". It's ENTIRELY appropriate to label sex-free works as "G-Rated". You don't need to slam others' preferences.
Hi Rosemarie, the use of "clean" to refer to books without sex is an industry standard and nothing more. There is an Amazon category, for instance, labeled "clean and wholesome". I use this word because it matches the search word that readers will use who appreciate my types of books.
It's not jsut an absense of sex, it's an absence of cussing, it's so much more, so the term fits! I highly doubt anyone listening has anything against sex, we just don't want to read it or watch it etc, it's personal and should be respected not treated like trash...which is not clean. It's so strange that you chose to find the word clean offensive. I hope you have a better week.
@@JennieGoutet, I appreciate the books being labeled as such because I have had the unfortunate experience of finding out a book isn't clean, the hard way, several times! Now, that is something I wish they would label their books as having! My mom's era called them smut or trash books, and she was a fan! haha
To all of you who commented: Sex and swearing is NOT dirty. Industry-standard does not make terminology right. "G-rated" is a NON-offensive way of categorizing. Don't get your panties in a bunch.

I agree!!!!!
I so enjoy Jennie's books, and, of course, Stevie brings the words to life so well!

Yes it was! :-) I have the research books to prove it.

Thanks. I'm a bit swamped right now but I'll look into it when I can.

I would have liked to listen to this story but for the continuous ADDS

I have realised I have lost a bit of my romantic heart, it was a lovely story but what was wrong with the sheep???
I'm away from home right now and don't have my research but I remember it was something that modern day antibiotics would have cured. They just didn't have it yet. Sorry it lessened the romance aspect for you, though.
