    i’ve tried grip builds and i always felt like i was going slower. i started to drift and tbh i prefer it. mastering doing controlling the car is so satisfying and i feel like i have, not as good as Q but i tend to use more JDM cars and they’re more set to drift. everytime i tried to avoid drifting the car would step out so i just decided to use it the way it was set.

    U should revisit the viper. It is super easy to control with drift builds bc for some reason it has this feeling of grip that doesn't go away no matter what u do to the handling allowing u to do this quite easily. Even on max drift it doesn't spin much at all if any on launch which I found very interesting. It quickly became on my fav cars for this unique handling feeling. Amazing video as always

    for a casual player like me who always liked grip, this game feels rewarding with micro drifts and gripping around corners where people lose control and i look slow going around but boost out of the corners. i’ve been playing around with micro drifting certain tracks like The God Hour corner king and i do better with that. This new style of driving looks fast asl but it doesn’t really suit how i’d like to drive it seems way too much like asphalt but it does look hella tough to compete with

    Also I think a big thing is drifting allows you to keep more speed in general but of course grip is more Nas, so I agree it’s very map and car dependent. The best overall builds will be the ones that can take advantage of both mechanics well

    Since NFS Payback I’ve been driving my cars with a drift style. However not as fast as these guys. In NFS HEAT, I kept the same style and it would allow me to catch up to faster RSR drivers because I could literally power slide through a turn at 135mph or faster depending on the turn, while the RSR would grip and drop speed to 98-113mph. I noticed that the Golf you built drives the same way when you double tap the gas and you get Drift & Grip bonus in most turns.

    The timing of this vid is impeccable. I love the Dodge Charger station wagon that i got from the campaign, but couldn't find a viable race build for it because the maximum of grip it can get to is 40%. So just a few days ago i said fuck it, made a A class 100% drift build and raced with it anyway. Surprisingly it worked wonderfully. The car has decent amount of power and burst NOS can be generated at will just by steering hard enough. I was bullying Lotus players with it and now it's my favorite car to drive in A class.
    Before seeing this video i never thought drift builds would be viable above A class. Now i am more eager than ever to watch how the meta for this game develops, as it seems like in Unbound, both grip racing and drift racing have depth and competitiveness, making the choice between them far more meaningful and interesting than any other B2D NFS.

Now that I see Q doing it makes sense, it's definitely more difficult but its def rewarding, I only this did on low tear races, would not even think how hard would this be on A+ or S+ cool stuff man.

    Weirdly I've got a couple cars set up as full grip builds and full downforce but I drift them and they drift really nice and then they lock and grip in when I burst nos. I've also noticed that I get grip nos if it's a shallow angle and I have to hold the steering far left or right. Almost like a shallow turn into a drift and as it tries to straighten up full left or right to keep a big radius and you get drift nos and then boost out which gives grip nos too. However this is not consistent for the burst nos. I want to make a full drift car now I've not actually tried to go full drift for a race and only for the drift zones. I've been using a maxxed out mercury in full drift it's constant drift kinda tricky but you can smash all drift zones once you get used to the handling of it. Might handle better if it wasnt S+ (you can go manual too and just hog 2nd gear tho)

  • @nexorider17

    I supose this makes drift and Grip equal metas it just depends on the track for the most part
    If your a drifter then the tighter more sharper tracks is your freind as drift cars turns way tighter but at the cost of your speed but can easly get back up to speed again with the burst nos while longer and less tight tracks as theres no shrap corners like how its on the OG wich races around the whole highway of the map makin that track an enemy for the drift meta
    While Grip is Favord more in much wider and more sweeåing corners where you can almost take the corner at full speed or simply by just coasting through the corner (for those who dont know what coasting is Coasting is when you let go of the gas and the car will gradualy loose speed while turning) so this makes tracks like the OG pull into the Grip racers favor but not for the drifter wich makes both metas but to their own types of tracks
    In the end this comes down to your play style and this is actually and intresting way of keepin Drift and Grip Balanced so theres like no true meta for all the tracks
    weather this was intentional by the devs or not remains to be seen but if it was it certainly was very cheeky way of them to keep both parties happy and this can certainly make races more fun and unpredictable makin it more fun and exciting
    So in the end i say both of the styles are on equal terms

    Either way, it's a question of mastering the car and the track. The pace of these guys is down to as clearly shown by them knowing all of the shortcuts and the perfect line to take through those shortcuts. I personally prefer grip as it's more realistic and feels more rewarding. While it's not perfect, it's a good idea to reward good driving rather than this obsession with unrealistic, excessive and at times silly drifting.

    That's all I've ever used is drift builds I think grip builds are boring but I'm still trying to figure out how to take a cheap car and make it just as fast as the hypercars. The engine swap makes no sense to me at all because people are saying to put smaller engines in cars and saying that they're faster than the super tier engines. My point is why have a basic, pro, super, category if you can put a basic engine in a car and it's better than the super ? Lol. I could figure it all out if I could just save up enough money to every time I get 600,000 I always spend it on some s***** car. I do like that this need for speed is not like the others in a way where if it's 400 plus that doesn't mean it's going to be just as fast as the other car and other need for speeds if you max your car out it was just as fast as any other car it doesn't matter if it was a Volkswagen beetle versus Bugatti and I hated that but now I hate that I can't figure out the system but that's mainly due to not having enough money to test.

    you should mention that you can do this only if your Quoise , because its freaking impossible to play with drift build like him or even close to him , wich means you auto lose from grip builds , because they are 1000000000 times easier to play !! if you willing to spent 5 years of drift builds practice thow , to be in 10% of quoises skill in drift builds and be able to play competitve with them , then thats another story

    A really good car for Drifting would probably be the C6 Vette, if you ever get a chance it's my favorite car in the world and I'm really not good at building, but if you can find out a really good build for it I would be grateful, it's also hard to get out of S tier in either way, but if I get the chance I'll try my best. Ty Trigger for the vids, this one gives me hope in my C6, also can you make a vid on how to build a car no matter what type it is

    I don’t know why many people be saying they’re using grip when its not actual, true, strict, grip driving. When you say grip I want to see absolutely zero smoke effects from your car before a turn, during a turn, and after a turn (unless you make a mistake or clip a patch of dirt on accident). All I see with so called “grip” builds are ones where micro-drift is still used to get yellow nos. This micro-drifting use in a “grip” build no longer makes it a true grip car to me. Brake-to-drift or gas-to-drift will always be the fastest way to drive in NFS if it stays going forward into future installments.

      Bro… u can’t be serious? That’s like if I said “if ur using a drift build I better see you shredding tires and I better see smoke on every single turn.” There are races to where you absolutely need to turn at sharper angles and sometimes you’ll need to drift or e-brake even with a 100% grip build.

    • @Orzav
      @Orzav ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DonOstermanIf you use brake-to-drift or micro-drifting religiously in anyway in a 100% handling grip tuned car. then you cant say your driving style is true grip. When I say grip racing, I mean proper braking, apex, and exit, not this micro-drifting and brake-to-drift mix. The only time you’ll see me drift or e-brake is when the person behind me is a rammer on entry into a corner or if they’re simply too fast so I have to compensate if strict grip driving isn’t enough to beat them.

      Mostly, I’m concerned with what’s faster. Micro drifting in both grip and drift builds is faster. I’m not going to elect to “full grip” (your definition) if it’s slower. And so because the build of the car is tuned 100% to the grip side of the handling slider….I am grip racing. No one defines grip racing (in this game) like you do simply because it’s a NFS game. But I hear you. Happy racing!

    • @DonOsterman
      @DonOsterman ปีที่แล้ว

      I tried it again ln in s+. Even with drift entry turned off and at 100% grip, there are instances where you need to rip the e-brake and turn a full 90 degrees. There's no way you can fully "grip" that with no tire smoke without losing a ton of speed and having to downshift 2-3 times

    Lol this is how I've been playing the game since launch. I use this against players with fully modded cars while I'm using stock cars the game loans you when you don't have a fully modded car for a race. Drift while using nos around corners just makes driving in this game way easier. You're rewarded nos while you use it so you're forever boasting 😂I never liked grip in nfs games and it's slower.
