Great musicians--wish I could've been there, too. Barrett Martin is on drums (I don't see his name in credits), a fantastic percussionist/drummer/ethnomusicologist.
While I can agree with you, somewhat...I think he knew to not try to emulate or copy stipes performance of this song. He came with his own interpretation and it sounds great. I would consider it a highlight of the entire show that is uploaded on this channel at a later date. That being said, I would love to have heard Puddles Pitty Party's version of this song or "Losing my Religion"..or something besides the Christmas song he did. That was a missed opportunity. Anyway, this was an awesome performance by these folks!!
What a great interpretation of this song!
This guy is amazing !!!
I was there, what a show.

Is David the guy from Follow for Now?
Strong as zoo dirt.
The performances might have been good but who can tell the sound is horrible
While good this dude is too preoccupied with sounding pretty. Because of this the pain and urgency is kinda muted

Exactly 💯 He completely mutes the message . But this song has to be sung with feeling of desperation. Stipe can't be matched on this one .
@@sammyprice9448 David did an awesome interpretation of the song...but I promise you, Puddles would have been sooooo much better doing it..js.
