My 2 year old climbed into my lap while I was knitting and watching this episode. He said, "Mama, what the name?" I said, "Her name is Ruth." And he paused and looked and said, "No, Mama, she a queen." I looked at the screen and realized he must've thought your pin board was a crown right above your head. It made me giggle.

Jigsaw Shawl...say that three times fast! I'd love to knit it. 😃 And I'd love to offer one of my sock patterns as a prize for the KAL. To see them all, just put my name, Carol Roy, in Ravelry. Some of the names start with "Five Winds" because that's the name of my daughter's equine rescue and rehabilitation ranch. 100% of sales proceeds go toward the vet bills, feed costs, chiropractor costs, ferrier costs, etc for the horses. Once rehabilitated, the horses are re-homed to loving families. One horse was gifted to a therapeutic riding program for children. The smiles on the kids faces would melt your heart. ❤

Ruth, I'd someone says something "isn't perfect" I usually say its "perfectly lovely" or "perfectly gorgeous".... I think I've more WIPS than you, especially if I count sewing ones too... I've just finished a Tunisian crochet blanket for one of my dogs. 2 strands if DK together... some 40+ yrs old, some less than 40 weeks... not really liking any on their own but the blanket is gorgeous
Ah, sales and destash b4 I forget again ... I believe that yarn and fabric should be "rescued" so remnants, sales and destash.... draw me like a magnet.... and it's good for the environment too.

Hi Ruth, phew!! It's way to hot 🔥 🥵 I've been trying to finish a single bed size blanket in crochet from 24" squares.
Please consider me for the jigsaw pattern because I'd like to knit it for the kal or cal! I have some nice hand dyed by a local lady Hannah of Corner of Craft and some from Fruit Fusion all local to me in Nottingham. Going on holiday next week...weather report rain!!

Sweet Ruth...your words have brought tears to my eyes today. My sister has lived with Multiple Sclerosis for over 30 years now, and been in a nursing home for the last 18yrs, maybe 10 of those years basically a quadriplegic. Her body is now being taken over by gangrene, and we're told she'll slip into a coma soon. We have said our goodbyes. Your words give me hope, that soon she'll be free, and dancing and moving like she hasn't been able to for so long now. Thank you so much for your words. If you are so inclined, would you please say a prayer for Linda, that her remaining days are peaceful. 😔😘

Ruth I'm so sorry your holiday got cancelled! Do try to persevere with the brioche; it's really not as complicated as it first seems. I have found that some worsted weight yarns can be substituted quite comfortably with dk weight, so you could try that. you always bring joy to my evening, so thank you!

I knit and crochet, but have only ever used acrylic yarns, occasionally with a bit of a wool mix. The hanks of wool u showed were beautiful, I’ve never been brave enough to any, as u can’t feel what u buy online. Loved the black and red poncho 🥰 love from Kent Uk
Go on treat yourself but equally knit with what you want as well. As long as you are knitting or crocheting. That's all that matters x

Your knitting is beautiful . i have a question I love to buy yarn when it is on sale or if I fall in love with a skein. I usually buy just 1 skein, what do you suggest buying 1 or 2 or more of a skein? So good to see you again! Thank you for God's word!!!
Maybe you should choose a pattern and buy yarn for that project so you will know how much to buy. X
Your Sprite's Fen shawl turned out gorgeous! I knit that in a pretty yellow for my sister's production of Seven Brides For Seven Brothers that their church put on a few years ago. It was such an enjoyable knit and I was thrilled with how it turned out! She ended up keeping that one for herself after the play was over. 😊 Thank you, Ruth, for another lovely podcast. Love all your new WIPs! I have at least 12 going. None have deadlines and I try to do at least 2 rows on each everyday. Works for me. Love your Jigsaw shawl and would love the pattern. Hope you can enjoy your solitude… it makes the happy chaos so much more joyful. I’m right there with you about the heat! I just can’t think through hot weather at this stage of life.
I know some folk can't cope with lots of wips but it is definitely my happy place x

I love your podcast, Ruth, and I think you never have to apologize for anything. I so enjoyed seeing your WIPS because your yarn choices and colours along with the design are always so interesting and inspiring. I too was going to learn brioche this summer, and I started on a shawl to enter your KAL that was known to be good for brioche beginners, but had to rip it out when things went awry. It seems I should practice first before jumping into the deep end--who knew?
Yes I think I need to start with something that just has a wee bit of brioche in a big project.

The wedding shawl is absolutely stunning. I hope you will receive and share a photo of the bride wearing it. Seems an honor to be asked to make such an heirloom garment…and an honor to wear it as well. Hope she is just the first bride to wear it and it will be passed, shared and worn by others. Or maybe she’ll wrap her firstborn in it for Baby Dedication or Christening. Your talent is fascinating. Your podcasts so fun and encouraging. Sorry about vacation. Thank you for mindfulness shawl recommendation as I needed the pattern for some smaller neck wraps for chemo patients and this worked. I did have to laugh at myself..being fairly experienced knitter my finish did not look the same as all the others well…I looked at directions casting on for another to see what I did wrong and realized the finish of the picot was on the other side..mystery solved. So nice to have your bubbly personality..wishing you cooler days.

Ah sorry you didn't make it across the water again Ruth . There will be another time ! Like you with no family help local I longed fir help too when the children were younger and I can now find if everyone is away that all these high plans I have about what I would do drift away the minute the time comes . Almost like I lose my function and then weirdly don't know what to do with myself and its really unsettling!

It's a Stephen West Pattern so available on Ravelry. It takes 5 skeins but I stopped short on the 5th one.
